We wanted a vacation home, a place away from the hassle of city life and be able to visit family. I grew up in Graeagle area and we love this area. My husband and I purchased this home in 2002. Since purchasing this property, it has been a vacation rental and for our use. We like how it seems to be quite area with nature around us. We are one street from Plumas Pines golf course
Mike and Shelly Hall purchased this house in 2002
We had looked at a lot of different properties in different towns but we really liked this house. We like how it is close to Johnsville, a historic gold mine, which has a state park and museum. The ranger gives talks and hikes.
Graeagle has shopping, restaurants, and fine dinning, the mill pond, hiking
This whole area is unique
The Lakes Basin has dozens of fishing lakes. A lot of them, the only way to get to them is horse riding and hiking with nature around you. So much history here. There's camping. The rail road museum in Portola. Wildflower viewing. You want fine arts they are here too. Quincy 25 miles - has Town Hall Theatre, Plumas Arts Gallery in The Capitol Arts Gallery. Golfing, several 18 hole courses. Scenic drives
Relax and enjoy the quiet and peacefulness. The wildlife. This area is a walk back in time. The beautiful colors and the sound of the pine trees moving in the wind.
Very clean two bedroom/two bath home - perfect for 4 people. The home was well equipped with everything you need whether bbqing or cooking in the kitchen. The location is on a quiet street with quiet neighbors except for the occasional barking dogs. Yes, we would stay there again.
We enjoyed our stay at this home in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. The house was clean and easy to find. We were there for a golfing vacation and found it to be within about 15 minutes of Whitehawk, Dragon, Graeagle and just across the street from the Plumas Pines course. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment and the rooms are large and comfortable. There is a propane bar-b-q which we used one night and a nice deck in the back yard.
There is no air conditioning, as is the case with most places and businesses in the area, but there are 3 ceiling fans which do a pretty good job of keeping the place cool. You need to open the windows and doors at night to cool the house down. We happened to be there in an extremely hot period with temperatures in the high 90,s all week. One local resident said it was the hottest week in his 22 years of living there.
There also is not any WiFi connection. A WiFi addition would be an improvement. We did, however, use a "Personal Hotspot" on our IPhone which allowed us to receive email on our IPads.
We will recommend this home to our friends and expect to come back next year.
Rented this home for a wedding in the area. It was perfect, kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook. Very comfortable deck furniture and large bbq. The owners were a delight to work with and very helpful. I definitely would rent again if I need to be in the Graeagle area.
We came up for a three day golf tournament at several of the golf courses in the area. This home is in a great location and met all of our needs. The kitchen had everything we needed, the décor gave us a feeling of a cabin in the mountains and the owner is so nice and accommodating.
The home was large and located close to town. There were three adults and with two bathrooms it was very comfortable. The kitchen had everything to cook with which was nice - laundry, soap, paper towels, cooking stuff - everything was there. Clean and well maintained. I would recommend the property as a rental and I would come back. Wish there was internet, only complaint.
