Guest have access to the entire duplex unit property.

For more than than 25 years, Dr. Stephen Leatherman ("Dr. Beach") has reviewed, evaluated and rated beaches and coastal areas throughout the world.  Two of his selected beaches for 2015 are within a mile from the house,  Delnor-Wiggins (ranked #9 )and Barefoot Beach (ranked #2). Both of these beaches are rated by Dr. Beach within the top 10 best Beaches within the USA. See article posting

Two beach cruise bikes (M & F) are provided. Vanderbilt Beach and Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park boasts one of the most pristine stretch of beach in the world. Every day, this tropical beach paradise beckons visitors to partake in vast peaceful views of the Gulf of Mexico, and experience the many shorebirds and wildlife that gather here every year. Visitors arrive to this park to sunbathe, snorkel the reef, hike, bird-watch, fish, picnic, and search for seashells on a daily basis. There are specific areas designated for anglers to drop their lines in the northern areas of the park for trophy catches. Boaters will also find the launch area into Turkey Bay easily accessible for most vessels, in order to experience the delicate natural estuaries of the Cocohatchee River, leading out to the Gulf of Mexico. Guided tours on the beach occur on a regular basis by experienced rangers and volunteers. Kayakers can enjoy paddling through estuaries and scuba divers can explore the hard bottom reef in the Gulf.

Get in - Regional Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers is 25 miles/30 minutes drive or from the house. United Airlines, Air Canada, American Airlines, United Express, Spirit Airlines, Jet Blue, Frontier, Delta, Southwest, and AirTran Airways are among the airlines that fly here.

Climate - Naples has a subtropical climate, with temperate and generally dry weather from the late fall through late spring and hotter and more humid weather in the summer through early fall with typical tropical thunderstorms in the late afternoon giving way to sunsets.

The best way to get around Naples is by car. Alternately, you can bike and make use of the extensive bike lanes.

Fishing - Naples has many experienced guides to help you catch that trophy. But if you want to explore on your own, there also are plenty of marinas and tackle shops for boat rentals, tackle and advice. And, if you would prefer, there are places where you can fish without a boat. Some of the more popular spots are our rivers and the Delnor-Wiggins Pass Park and Naples Pier. Many people also fish the canals , especially where and when the tidal currents are relatively strong. The beaches can also be productive, especially at dawn and at dusk. Whether your preferred technique is fly, spin, plug or bait, you will enjoy fine fishing in a great environment.

Lovely little house with a private fenced in yard.

  • 4 of 5

I would have given this 5 stars, except for the gardener turning up. UNANNOUNCED. He also came straight into the yard and frightened me.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words. We deeply appreciate the 5 star rating. Rather unfortunate that your were frightened by the lawn service. Our sincere apologies. We will address this issue. The lawn service generally always arrives unannounced, this is the first time someone addresses this inconvenience. We strive to keep our properties clean, and well manicured. We value your understanding. Thank you.

We were grateful for finding this

  • 5 of 5

My wife & I do a lot of traveling in our RV now that we’re both retired, recently after traversing Alligators Alley and taking in the sights we found ourselves at an RV garage on the Naples side with a failed water pump. A quick search in the internet led to a call to Joseph who picked us up and delivered us to his “Very Private Getaway” one bedroom flat. Our RV repair was complete the next day but we decided to stay three more days and enjoy all his beautiful place had to offer. We visited the beach several times on bicycle (without having to find RV parking) and stretched out in the spacious living room and outdoor patio. We travel with our two Yorkshire Terriers, and finding places that accept pets is almost impossible. Joseph’s Very private Getaway Suite was also the perfect place for travelers with pets, with plenty of safely enclosed open area for them to run around. We took complete advantage of the full sized Kitchen and laundry area, even washing our RV linens (at Joseph’s suggestion) Once back on board our RV, we knew if we had to have a breakdown, we were in the right place, thanks to Joseph and his wonderful Very private Getaway apartment. Thank you so much for your gracious and economical hospitality!

Renter be Aware

  • 3 of 5

This property is located in a residential area and off the beaten path. Neighbors include family with couches in front yard etc, while some are tidier.

Rented bikes(bikes are “shared”, but we rented because we wanted to make sure we had them if needed) but ended up not using them because of some safety concerns on our part and the fact that the unit is some distance from the beaches and there are not scenic bike paths but rather you bike thru neighborhoods/ busy roads to get there.

The unit itself is basic. Well decorated with nice kitchen but garbage disposal odor.

Bed is a Murphy bed even though and not a standard bed. Nice shower.

Nice patio but no bbq like the online pictures show . The “shared bikes” and bbq behind fence and not accessible from our unit.

Make sure your read the description of the unit you are renting and not the surrounding beaches.

Owner's Response: Thank you for elaborating on the positive of the property e.g beaten path and well equipped, well decorated and basic all supplemented with a nice well equipped kitchen with a wine cooler. Yes, the modern bathroom with shower is very well suited for the unit. The bed is a Queen size bed to sleep 2 people comfortably, and also is the pull-out sofa in the living area. You description of the nice patio surrounded which is surrounded with Palm and Tropical fruit trees of Citrus, Mangoes, Bananas and Papayas is also well taken. The BBQ unit for unit happened to be out for maintenance. Sorry, about that. We have currently opted to intall permanent charcoal grills as the are more user friendly and easier to maintain. The shared bike vs. rental is an added value at the option of very tenant. The small issues about garbage disposal could have quickly been resolved with a phone call tor some use of the basic cleaning products that are supplied in the home. As to beach proximity the maps and distance location is advertised 1.5 mile to both Vanderbilt and Delnor- Wiggins.

Great accommodation and location!

  • 5 of 5

We spend 5 days at the property with our 1.5 year old son. We really enjoyed our stay. The rental was clean, comfortable, and nicely updated. During our stay, I slept on both the pullout couch and bed. They were both were comfortable.
