Nice quiet location
I was impressed with the care and thoughtfulness of the owner. She went out of her way to ensure our stay was comfortable. She met us and showed us around the house and was able to provide us with some excellent dining choices and a couple places to visit while we were staying. Very nice and very attentive to our needs.
I would recommend her place to any of my closest friends and family.
Thank you for allowing us to stay at your home.
Glad you all enjoyed your stay at the Old Head of Kinsale..it was a pleasure.
Nice house and view. Wish we had more time!
The house is cozy and has great views of the water and surrounding area. The house is well equipped. The showers worked well and had warm water. We were 9 people and it worked well for us. The kids liked the bunk beds. It was nice to put them all together in one room. I hope we can get back and enjoy more of the area someday. 3 days wasn't enough time to do everything.
Wonderful cottage at a perfect rural Irish location!
Our stay at the cottage was wonderful!! Laura was a wonderful host and even stayed to greet us as we were running late. There was nothing we lacked for in the house and only wish we could have spent more than 2 nights there. The Speckled Door Pub and Restaurant is right up the road and the service and food there were excellent. The scenery....no words to describe it! So quiet and beautiful. The Atlantic Coast is not far away and it was wonderful just spending time on the deck with a cup of tea listening to the waves in the distance. My husband went for some wonderful runs there. It is a bit away from town, but that was wanted....a retreat in the Irish countryside! Would definitely recommend and hope to return to!
Didn't get to do as much site seeing there as we wanted, but if you can get over to Fort Charles, be sure to take the guided tour. It was very informative! Kinsale also has some lovely shops in town!! Thanks again for a wonderful visit!
The house was just as advertised. Conveniently located within walking distance to Speckled Door Restaurant and right down the street from Old Head Golf Club. Laura and Yvonne were great before, during and after the trip. Definitely recommended.
Lovely property in a fantastic location.
Lovely comfortable property in a great location with wonderful views. We all had a lovely time and the welcome from Laura along with the yummy homemade biscuits gave us a brilliant start to our holiday. The Speckled Door pub a few yds away was very friendly and did a really good value Sunday lunch. Unfortunately we were too early in the year to sample food there in the evenings as they were only doing lunches. They even provided some toys for my Grandson and some basic food to get us started. Thank you very much Laura and Yvonne.
It was a pleasure to host Andrea and her family. We would highly recommend this family to other hosts. Communication was excellent and we wish you all the best.
Fantastic home from home cottage in a breath taking location....
From start to finish we had an amazing holiday in this beautiful cottage on the Old Head of Kinsale. We were greeted by Laura who showed us around this beautiful home. She was kind enough to welcome us with some lovely homemade biscuits which was a lovely touch. The layout of the cottage we found great with the living accommodation upstairs allowing us to take in the fabulous views of the countryside. Everything in the cottage was perfect and spotlessly clean. It was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need on a holiday. It was spacious, comfortable and charming. Some of our family joined us for a couple of days and also thought it was beautiful. I cannot recommend this cottage enough to anyone who might be considering a stay here. Delightful! many thanks to Laura and Yvonne, the cottage is a credit to you.

20 minutes from the hustle and bustle of beautiful Kinsale, the Old Head is considered one of Ireland's most treasured stretches along the Wild Atlantic Way. The views are breathtaking, with options for long, medium and sort walks around the Old Head, towards the old lighthouse and new Golf Course. The Beaches (Blue Flag) are known for their wild waves, perfect for surfing and bodyboarding yet also suitable for swimming and walking. Pitch and Putt club directly across the road from the beach with surf schools open most of the year. Garretstown Woods is ideal for trail walking, full of history and evelated grounds overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The local, well known pub/ restaurant ' The Speckled Door' provides an ideal setting for an early evening dinner or a long night of old Irish drinking and singing. Grocery shops, butcher and deli, close by (2 miles).
