Overview

About the property

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Bunk Area, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4 comfortably but can do 6)

Come stay at our Cozy Bear Valley Village Condo. It is set up with a Comfy Sectional couch in the living room and a brand new efficient wood burning stove (insert) for full relaxation and enjoyment. Our flooring in the kitchen and living area is brand new (put in October 2017). We replaced our old tile and carpet with laminate flooring.

We have a flat screen tv with cable, a DVD player (video library provided) and new this season -a fire stick with Netflix and Amazon prime movies. There is also a docking station for music of your choice in the living room for your tablet or smart phone. Great village location!

Our cozy condo (500 square feet but laid out well) is located in the Bear Valley Village - a short walk to the lodge, restaurants, library, kids playground, frisbee golf course and the Ski shuttle bus (in the winter). We are a short 10 minute drive to the ski mountain.

During the winter you can ski at the mountain (drive or bus), corss country ski or sled in the village (a short walk) and walk to the bus, village restaurants and or shops from our condo. Snowmobiling is also close- just a short walk to the rental shop. During the spring and summer you can spend the day hiking, biking, kayaking or swimming at two amazing lakes- Lake Alpine or Bear Valley Lake.

This would be a great choice for a family, a couple or a single traveller! Our cozy condor as one bedroom with a bunk - full (new futon mattress and a new 2 inch memory foam topper -just added this season) on the bottom and a single on top.

The bedroom (located up 5 stairs from the living room and kitchen) has a DVD player so the kids can hang out while you enjoy quiet time downstairs.

We added a bunk area with two single beds. Parents can take the bedroom and give the bunk area to the kids!!

The bathroom is located next to the bedroom and is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. The flooring and toilet have been updated (fall 2016) and the bathroom has been freshly painted. The shower and toilet are seperated from the wash basin so that more than one person can use this area at a time. A hair dryer is also available for your use.

Downstairs, watch a movie by the fire on a flat screen TV. Relax in the living room on our sectional couch with recliner. The living room and kitchen floors are brand new and just redone (October 2017) with Pergo Outlast. A great place to read a book or play a game with the family.

We have books, magazines, games and movies available for your use. The living area is equipped with a pull out double size bed and a twin bed (behind the sectional couch where the ceiling slopes) for sleeping.

The kitchen is fully stocked with a new Keurig coffee maker, brand new microwave, new dishwasher, and pots and pans for your stay. It is also stocked with basic spices for your use. We have plenty of dish ware and silverware.

A ski storage locker is located next to the codo equipped with sleds and snow shoes ( 2 adult pairs and 3 pairs for children) for your use. Only a hop, skip and a jump away from snow shoeing, sledding, cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter and swimming, hiking, biking, fishing and boating in the summer.

About Jenny Poster

I am a stay at home mother of three and wife. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, cooking, running, and generally anything that is related to the outdoors.

Jenny Poster purchased this condo in 2002

Why Jenny Poster chose Bear Valley

My husband was on the volunteer ski patrol at the mountain and we wanted an affordable, convenient place to stay. We immediatley fell in love with the location, people and true beauty of Bear Valley. Now it is a great place to bring our family. Every single time we take the left hand turn off Highway 4 into the village, we instantly forget our daily grinds and stress and feel the tranquility and relief of being on 'Bear Valley time'.

What makes this condo unique

Bear Valley is fantastic. Once we arrive at our condo we park our car and generally do not get back in it until we leave. Our condo is footsteps away from snow shoeing, snowmobiling, cross county skiing and sledding. We enjoy being close to the shops and lodge where we often enjoy hot chocolate and the fire after a day of skiing. The summer is perhaps better than the winter, with lakes, hiking, biking, ball feilds, rock climbing, frisbee golf course and star gazing. Bear Valley is a very family friendly community. We love it!!

Notes:
As a Renter you will have access to the BV Lodge pool and BV lake. The Valley Lodge recently renovated a bar in one of their restaurants and the seating area by the fireplace. Both have been beautifully updated and were able to keep that Bear Valley charm. A great place for a drink, or sit by the fire or to play a game with the family.

Everything You'll Need

  • 5 of 5

The previous reviews were spot on: comfy, well-equipped, and efficiently laid-out. The condo is very clean and has all of the amenities you'll need. I can't express how well thought-out the owners have set up this home-away-from-home. Even in the 500 sq. ft. space, our family of four was able to find our own little quite spaces when needed. The kitchen is well stocked with any cooking gear you'll need. We also enjoyed the assorted games, books and movies.

Jenny was super kind and helpful with all of our questions. We met two neighbors upon checking in who were also very friendly. We've enjoyed Bear Valley since 1984 and will be happy to return to this home. Thanks, Jenny!

Excellent!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 (3 kids under 10) had a fantastic stay in this condo. We felt comfortable immediately and that feeling continued throughout our 6 night stay. Jenny made it easy to locate, find keys and parking. She was available throughout our stay and responded quickly to any questions that came up.

The description of "cozy" is perfect, but we never felt crowded. There was plenty of room for all 5 of us. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed (unless instructed to bring).

Bear Valley is a great spot to explore. We usually camp at Lake Alpine, chose to try a different route and are so glad we did! We were able to do a few things we wouldn't have normally done while camping. Bear Valley Adventure Park was really fun for the kids, Big Trees State Park is a quick drive down the hill, swimming in the lakes and pool, hiking, fishing, walks, kids playground, restaurants around Bear Valley and a cute general store. I also suggest taking a (under 5 minute) drive to the Bear Valley skiing area (where they have "glamping" during the summer). The views took my breath away. We were able to watch movies in the evenings, grill our dinner and their WiFi worked great.

We left feeling relaxed and rested. I would highly recommend this condo and we hope to try it out again during the winter!

Perfect location for snow lovers, has all the essentials, we had a great time

  • 4 of 5

Found that the chair in the bedroom folds out into a comfortable single bed, perfect for our 4 yr old who was a little freaked out by the bunk bed closet arrangement. Place was small but worked well for 2 adults, 2 teens, and a toddler.

Great little place for a couple or a family with young kids!

  • 5 of 5

We just stayed here for a little 3-day skiing mini-vacation and had a blast. The place has everything you'll need (TV with Dish Network and Netflix, kitchen supplies, beds for 5-6 people, etc.) and it's less than 10 minutes to the chairlift at Bear Valley. The condo is small, but very comfortable and well laid out, with a main bedroom that includes a top bunk, as well as a little bunk bed closet that our girls loved sleeping in. The owner is super organized and responsive, so the logistics were very easy.

Overall, it was a great value and really convenient for a few days of skiing/sledding/tubing.

Nice place with everything you need

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place for our family's first winter snow vacation. Clean and has everything you could think of needing and more. The winter toys (and snow shovel) in the snow closet were useful. We enjoyed the day walking around the village and the cross-country ski area with our two young kids to play in the powder, as well as some tubing. We never made it to the ski slopes but enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. If we had gone to the slopes then we could have used the shuttle from the nearby village lodge. We had lunch at the cross-country area hut and cooked in the condo for other meals. However, there are a few other dining options in the village. We will definitely come back to Bear Valley!
