About Ron and Patty

We have dreamed for years of having a place like this. Our family enjoys spending time with nature, sharing experiences with family and friends. Ron and Patty

Ron and Patty purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Ron and Patty chose Central Cascade Mountains

Enjoying the four seasons; the fun on the lake in the summer, the vibrant fall colors in the cool, crisp air, the excitement while playing in the snow, and the new growth in the spring. This area has it all while being close to festivals in Leavenworth and easy access from Seattle.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is only 30 minutes away from Stevens Pass for prime access to wonderful downhill skiing. Lake Wenatchee State Park hosts cross country/snow shoe trails and a sledding hill during the winter. Beach access for tons of summer fun on the water! Our cabin has shared access to the lake. There is an abundance of hiking/biking trails to enjoy year round.

Leavenworth is only 20 minutes away for a fun Bavarian village experience with many festivals to enjoy. There are several wineries to experience in the nearby vicinity.

This is not used just as a rental, this is our second home. Come see the difference.

Beautiful home!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here from June 23rd to the 27th....my daughter was married at Browns Family Homestead and we wanted somewhere to stay that was close to the venue. When you walk through the front door, you can see the amazing views of the Lake.....and it just gets better from there. There was plenty of room for all us, with 3 floors we had no problem spreading out. The home was very clean and well stocked with everything needed to be comfortable. We spent most of our time out on the deck, as it was a warm weekend, just enjoying the view, and the downstairs deck area has more chairs and a couple swinging hammocks that the kids enjoyed. The lake was close enough to walk too, as we walked down several times and just around the neighborhood. One of our daughters did see a Bear roaming the road one night down by the State Park, which was pretty exciting! Ron and Patty were very responsive to all our e mails and phone calls. We were very lucky to have found this beautiful home on VRBO, and we are already talking about coming out during the winter to stay again as we just love it out there!

Not Worth It

  • 1 of 5

The view from the cabin was pretty, which are the only reason I gave this property any stars at all. I really wanted to like this property, but unfortunately our experience was sub-par. Upon our arrival, the towels which were in the bathrooms reeked of a musty, mildew smell, and we had to wash the towels in the bathrooms before use. One person in our group felt as if the towels in the upstairs bathroom had not been laundered prior to our arrival. The rest of the towels were all still in the dryer upon our arrival, and we had to fold and distribute these towels among the bathrooms ourselves. While we were stripping the beds for checkout, we noticed the main floor master bed had a urine stain on the mattress pad. We were completely disgusted by this because we had just spent two days sleeping on that bed. In our opinion the owners withheld an arbitrary amount of our "damage" deposit for reasons which were not justifiable under the rental contract and did not provide us receipts for the alleged damages. Most disturbingly of all, the owners did not hesitate to inform me they had reviewed hours upon hours of footage from security cameras on the premises during our stay. We found this to be an enormous invasion of privacy, as you don't expect "big brother" to be joining you on your vacation! All in all, the pretty view wasn't worth the trouble of dealing with these owners, especially given the great number of beautiful properties you can rent on Lake Wenatchee!

Owner's Response: Well this is a first and we would have to say is the result of withholding a portion of the damage deposit. At the bottom is the email we received on the same date as their last day of their stay. We believe that had we refunded the damage deposit in full the review here would be vastly different. Notice the vast difference between the email and the review. All emails between us were sent via VRBO and can be verified to their authenticity. Nothing was ever mentioned about linens previously in our dealings about issues. There was a quick change that day which is most likely why there was towels in the dryer but we have an abundance of towels and there should have been adequate towels in the bathrooms for their party of 9. But we, the owners, did have issues; apparently the 'after wedding' party was at our cabin which is upsetting but the one that we resulted in the reduction of the deposit was that a vehicles rear window was broken and tinted glass was found by us when we arrived next to stay at the cabin. When we inquired of the cleaning service of any issues, we were told of the mess and broken glass that they had cleaned up after an obvious party. We then went to the video we have overlooking the driveway (for security and there is none inside the cabin) and found the magnitude of people coming and going and the issue of the glass. Paige was disputing everything until we mentioned we had video the vehicle backing to the greenbelt and then driving away with the rear window all taped up. The hours she says we spent looking at the video was my husband spending hours cleaning up the areas of glass after viewing the motion sensored video. We still feel this is damage to our property and the glass was not something we could leave. We hope the nearly 5 years of using VRBO and other reviews will help put this in context. Our place is not a full time rental, it is our second home and that is why other reviews state that our place is the cleanest, most well-equipped place they have rented. Kindly, Ron and Patty (Paige's email right after their stay) Dear Ron and Patty, Thank you very much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home last weekend! It made the perfect retreat for our friend's wedding. What an amazing view from your front deck! We were definitely blessed to stay in a beautiful home like yours over the weekend! This is my first experience with VRBO. How does the return of the refundable damage deposit work? Thanks Paige

Beautiful and comfortable mountain home!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with friends (5 adults and 5 kids). The cabin was phenomenal - very well maintained, clean and was the perfect space for our group of ten. The kitchen is very well stocked and we were even able to cook an 18# turkey with ease. Tons of kid-friendly movies, the fooze ball table and ping pong kept the kids all happily entertained inside. We were lucky to have plenty of snow and the kids (and adults) had a blast playing and sledding in the surrounding yard area. The hot tub was super clean and the perfect spot for the parents to relax, too. We really loved this place and hope to stay there again next year.

Winter Wilderness Wonderland

  • 5 of 5

Our family Christmas/New Year's vacation was exceptional at this Winter Wonderland cabin in the wilderness. The property description is right on the mark as the cabin felt like home and the views were stunning of Lake Wenatchee and the surrounding mountain range. We even made our own sledding course! Whether eating together in the great room or seeking solitude for private time, the house afforded us, our sons, their wives and grandson plenty of space to do it all. While there is no TV reception, we learned that a great deal of video entertainment can be found on the Internet and ESPN. Our trips into Leavenworth were a reasonable driving distance of 20-25 minutes. Thank you to Ron and Patty, who were such gracious hosts and made their home feel like ours for one week out of the year ~ the Christmas tree was a beautiful touch, thank you!

Wonderful Trip because of the Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for our party of 15. We traveled with 3 families, each of which have 3 little girls age 5 and under. Very nicely laid out. We never felt crammed or on top of each other. The cabin was very clean, comfortable, and a full line of amenities. We took full advantage of the kitchen and hot tub. Great dining table for large parties. The kids had a blast playing downstairs. Beautiful views from all over. The owners were great to interact with and quickly responsive to every question. We took a trip to Leavenworth on one of the days, as we annually do. As amazing as the downtown Leavenworth experience is, we much preferred to be at the cabin with all the kids where we had our own sledding area and access to necessities for 9 very small children. Highly recommend this cabin for all occasions.

A Little Slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful trip we had in this cabin on Lake Wenatchee, Leavenworth. The home is very well stocked - from the kitchen, to the bedding, towels, games, music, movies, it has everything might need. We had a group of 10 adults, and it never felt crowded, there was plenty of space for everyone. The extra amenities of the hot tub, ping pong, and foos ball were also a definite plus. We spent one day mixed between sledding in the am and into Leavenworth for the pm, which was an easy drive from the cabin. We also spent a day just at the house, venturing only down to the lake to take in the full beautiful view. The view from the house is also great, there are a few houses between the cabin and lake, but you still get a wonderful view. There are some neighboring cabins, but we still felt secluded and in the woods. This cabin would be great for families with kids, adults, girl trips, anyone!

The place was very clean, well maintained, and overall we felt it was even nicer than the pictures. The kitchen was plenty big - able to cook meals for 10 with ease. We greatly appreciated the option of playing music at different areas of the home. It was nice and open, which helped for a big crowd playing games. There were also three full bathrooms, how wonderful!

Thank you for letting us use your lovely home, all of us hope to do it again!
