This is a perfect location for those who love to get out onto the water, or to observe the local wildlife. The tropical birds in this area are amazing. This resort is a boaters and fisherman\'s paradise. It is also a prime location for jet skis, kayaking, paddle boarding, or any other watersport you can imagine. The hotel has its own boat ramp.

Unit was advertised with pictures as being renovated. Was not the case. Not only was unit in poor shape, most things were broken, and mold was even growing in the pantry.
The unit is NOT what was posted on VRBO in terms of the interior space. We encountered a clean unit however the condo was old and beat up, what a disappointment. This property seemed like a hotel and they put you where space is available upon check in.
When we arrived, the sink and dishwasher were overflowing with a putrid smelling brown water. The entire apartment smelled like sewage. It took 3 phone calls and finally an angry visit to the front desk for the property manager to clean and fix it. The brown moldy was not removed and the smell did not go away for 24 hours. In addition, the shower curtains in the master bath are not installed properly, so the bathroom floor had a pool of water in it the entire weekend. I do not recommend this unit to anyone. There are plenty of other places in the Keys.
We were excited to share our yearly pilgrimage to the Keys and chose Ocean Pointe as it was convenient and cost effective. Upon arrival we were able to check in early, and went to our condo. Upon entering our senses were immediately assaulted by a strong and intense odor of cleaning products. Our shoes when entering the hallway felt the tacky nature of a quickly mopped floor. Further into the condo we we encountered a new odor; that of a sour mop in the kitchen area. Checking the bedrooms the smell was very strong but we decided we could combat thsi with coffee grinds. At first glance the unit looked clean so we decided to stay. We headed to Publix and got two large cans of coffee. We placed coffee in containers around the unit and opened the sliding door. We then began to notice that the unit was clean in the high traffic areas, but not in places like under cushions (a piece of popcorn fell), and behind the headboard (we needed to plug in phones). It was so filthy behind the headboard that we wanted to leave at that point. To both our dismay and excitement we found two used vacuums that were also filthy in the closet and gave the room a good sweep. Our stay was less than optimal and we all got headaches from the products used. My advice is to check the room before signing and make sure to do a walk through with a staff person...... the place is convenient and has some nice features but this was unacceptable! Hopefully they will fire the cleaning supervisor!
Apartment is very nice, clean and well equipped. Well maintained complex with nice pool area. Unfortunately this apartment (like most here) has a tiny triangular balcony though, not really usable. The beach was very disappointing too, very small, smelly and have to wade through lots of seaweed. Nice salt water pool but water was very warm and not at all refreshing. Would not recommend this resort if you are looking for a beach vacation.
