About The Owner

Born and raised on the Plateau, I am an avid supporter of keeping the area beautiful and welcoming to all who visit. I am a pet lover and board dogs. My Cabin is 'Pet friendly'. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and understand the need to just 'get away' and 'get in touch'. I've designed my cabin with this in mind!

The Owner purchased this house in 2000

Why The Owner chose Tracy City

My cabin sits on 40 acres adjoining the South Cumberland State Park. The property has been in my family for years. You will love being a part of our history. Bring your dog and hike the trails or jog around the Grundy Lakes. Visit the The Dutchmaid Bakery, the oldest running bakery in Tennessee. Walk the beautiful campus of the University of the South. Bike the Mountain Goat Bike Trail! It all awaits you here!

Exactly as advertised

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean and in a wonderfully secluded area, but only about two minutes from Tracy City and ten from Monteagle. You can hear the creek at the bottom of the ridgeline below the deck out back, and because of the slope you are basically up in the leaves of the woods below. The kitchen has all the right cookware and the like, and the washer and dryer were a blessing. I was there for two full weeks while in class at Sewanee, and would rent the property again.

Cute little house, very clean but needs some extra tlc.

It was very clean but the furniture was worn, stained and very old. The bed was lumpy and the futon was not suitable to sleep on - you could feel the springs. There was a note to turn off the toilet if it ran but then it couldn't flush - should have been fixed. Towels were someones cast offs and the pillows were old and flat! I just wish the other reviewers had been honest - we would have stayed somewhere else.

Owner's Response: Wow! So sorry you were this disappointed. I would have been happy to help you find different lodging. The toilet could be flushed I just needed a heads up if it was running. Again, sorry. Please tell the owners of the next place early so the situation can be addressed.

Great mountain hideaway where you and your dogs can relax!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, our two dogs, and I stayed here while in the area for a Sewanee event. We loved being able to throw the ball for the dogs and relax on the deck, and the firepit was such a nice way to end the day. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful! Great place to stay with our two labs. Quiet, secluded but close to where we wanted to be. Emily was friendly and so were her animals. I would recommend this.place to anyone over any chain hotel in the area.

We were very happy we chose to stay here. My husband even wanted to buy the place.
