The owner gave us a friendly welcome and was very helpful with check in and check out times but we found the house to be poorly maintained and dirty. Good location in Princeton.
The home had a very strong musty/mildew smell in the living room. We had hoped this would dissipate but after 3 days with the windows open it was still very strong. The bathroom tub was rust stained and paint chips were literally falling from the ceiling. If I were a college student, the place would have been fine, but being in the 50+ group I found it to be extremely disappointing. I don't know if these problems were due to it being early in the rental season (late March) but quite frankly we wouldn't stay here again even if it was free.
A nice, small, two story house. Owner very responsive to texts and email. House was clean. It's in a quiet neighborhood, so noise isn't a problem. Off-street parking for one vehicle. Wired & wireless Internet. Unfortunately, we were there during transition from cool to warm weather. There was only one small air conditioner downstairs, so the upstairs was very, very warm at night. After the first night, we bought a 20" box fan. This made it just barely manageable sleeping upstairs the next two nights. Several upstairs windows wouldn't open or stay open, so getting a cross-breeze to cool the bedrooms wasn't so easy. Owner says she installed window ac units upstairs after we left, but they were definitely needed for our visit. This could have been a comfortable stay, but it wasn't.
Nothing fancy. An older home, with the basic necessities and clean and in good working order. This house suited us well. The WiFi was useful for checking in at work and helped augment a poor cell signal. Our 2 young boys loved the really nice flat screen TV with cable! (this was a vacation treat as it is not an amenity we have at home). If the TV was not there, we may have enjoyed more time outside as the neighborhood is lovely. The property is walking distance to schools and wide open spaces and the people in the neighborhood were friendly. If you listen carefully, you can even hear some music coming from the Westminster Choir College adjacent the property. We could walk to the grocery store - McCaffreys (15 minutes) or a short few minute drive. The air conditioners (window units) came in handy and provided extra comfort. Speaking of comfort - the whole family commented on the nice sheets. The owner was so helpful providing information promptly & answering my questions leading to our visit. And we were pleasantly greeted us upon our arrival. We had a delayed flight, and the owner was understanding and accommodating. Next time we are in Princeton to visit family, we will look to stay here again.
This is a really nice little house. You wouldn't say it by just looking at the outside, but once inside, it had a complete homey feel. Close to Princeton downtown and University. I do a lot of traveling and the hotels grow old quick. Sleeps 2-4, clean and has Dish and internet. Owner was responsive and on time. Thumbs up
The house is clean and comfortable.
It's great for 2 adults and 2 children.
It's perfectly located very near Princeton center.
Helen received us very nicely.
She prepared a few water bottles in the fridge for us, soap in the bathroom.
We had a great holiday!
