1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, 1 king size bed
We have a large, 1000 square meter garden surrounding our home. The little House is a 25 square meter separate apartment located in the garden and completely separate from the main house. It has an independent entrance which allows our guests to have their own keys, and come and go as they please.
The apartment sleeps two people and possibly a baby in the cot (included).
The apartment is equipped with:
- Room with 1 king size bed.
- Big 'blue' bathroom with round shower, hairdryer and welcome kit.
- Fully equipped 'yellow' kitchen, with stove, refrigerator and pantry full of Italian specialties that we provide to our guests.
- Desk for work or study.
- Free Internet Wi -Fi.
- Washing machine shared with the main house.
- Portion of the garden for exclusive use.
- Olympic swimming pool and kiddie pool open from late May until the end of September. The pool is located in a beautiful communal garden bordering ours (you can leave the house directly in your bathing costume!), full of trees and vegetation, so it is very cool even in summer. It has showers, toilets, changing rooms, a lifeguard on duty, as well as drinks, ice creams and snacks.
- Bicycles, with which you can reach in a short time Piazza del Popolo (the starting point of the city's most exclusive shopping), and the area of Campo de Fiori / Piazza Navona / Trastevere / Ghetto.
We have 3 children (3, 6 and 8 years old) and 3 cats... Our house is full of life, however during the week we are very busy with school and after-school activities! Thus we do not serve breakfast. Instead, every day we will leave great sweets and savoury foods, (mostly organic) in the cottage for you to enjoy… (I have a real passion for healthy eating!).
Autumn is a special time of year for discovering and living in Rome…not cold, not hot, fewer tourists and the colors of the city are amazing. Clear, bright and almost phosphorescent!
It is a fantastic time to walk, bike, eat lunch outside and come back home at night. To have a drink in the centre, discover museums, exhibits, churches…it’s to easy right now.
And we love to offer our guests special Italian flavours and fragrances…like red wine, soups and roasted chesnuts!
Ponte Milvio, also referred to as the “Lovers’ Bridge” due to the chains of padlocks left hanging on its lampposts by sweethearts wishing to leave a token of their never-ending affection for each other, links the banks of the River Tiber to the north of the city.
The bridge was constructed in order to prolong the Via Flaminia, enabling it to reach across the river. Besides being a favourite spot for nightlifers looking for a “simpatico” bar or other, every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Ponte Milvio also provides the charming setting for an antiques fair. At this “Anticaglie a Ponte Milvio. Il primo mercato dell’antiquariato”, a couple of hours may be passed ambling among the 200 stands, browsing through the varied antique pieces, collectors’ items which include small picture frames, jewellery, knick-knacks, books of all shapes and sizes.
Nearby Ponte Milvio you will find Foro Italico, a sports complex at the foot of Monte Mario which includes the Stadio di Marmi, an athletics ground lined with 60 marble statues, the Tennis Centre which annually hosts the Italian Open and the Swimming Stadium. The complex was designed by Italian Architect Enrico Del Debbio, in the early nineteen twenties and completed for the 1960 Olympic Games.
On the opposite side of the Tiber you will find perhaps the most elegant portion of Rome, with its museums, stylish buildings and magnificent villas: Flaminio. It is historically referred to as the capital’s first district.
Two of contemporary Rome’s most interesting attractions stand out in this district: the Auditorium designed by Renzo Piano and the MAXXI Art Gallery designed by Architect Zaha Hadid.
Just a stone’s throw away there is the real “bijoux” in this part of Rome: Villa Borghese, a public park offering something for everyone. You can start from the Pincio (Pincian Gardens), overlooking Piazza del Popolo, with a breath-taking view of Rome. The gardens directly spill into 85 hectars of Villa Borghese public park, which belonged to Borghese Princes’ private villa up until the end of the nineteenth century. In Villa Borghese there is something for everyone: art-lovers may enjoy the invaluable collection of paintings and sculptures in the Galleria Borghese or, for example, families might choose a day out among the vast variety of mammals, reptiles and birds in the Biopark.
Comfortably nestling among the pine trees is the Casa del Cinema, which offers a full programme of screenings, film editing and direction classes as well as conferences … while it is ideal for a simple break seated outside its Cinecaffè. An opportunity should neither be missed to also visit the Globe Theatre, a faithful reproduction of the Elizabethan original.

WONDERFUL UNDERGROUND HOUSE ☺
I stayed here with my little girl and my partner. It was wonderful. The garden was plenty size for running around and we spent many hours playing here. There is a pool next door and between the two we had little need to look for entertainment elsewhere. Plenty of shops etc within walking distance. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quite getaway in Rome.
