Charming two bedroom, 1 1/2 bath cottage located on top of North Mountain in Winchester, Virginia. The views across the valley are spectacular. The Cozy Cottage s a great 'get-out-of-town' spot for Northern Virginia residents. So close to Washington, D.C. yet far enough away.
Check out a neat webpage and app, 'Old Town Winchester', for things to do, places to go, and great places to eat. (Available in your phone's App Store.)
Let me help you get away, very soon!
I grew up in the Shenandoah Valley so if there is something you want to do, just ask and I can help you find it!

This charming little house has a way of relaxing you within seconds. You are away from everything yet not needing anything! I call the cottage 'My Serenity' because it truly is just that.
We successfully rented this sweetheart out as a vacation rental five years ago. Due to travel requirements for my job, I wasn't able to continue renting it as such. Our full-timers moved out in January and the renovations began immediately. Since our original page was deleted, I will be asking past guests to kindly post reviews.
Oh my gosh, stay just once and you can fill in this blank.
Just loved this house. The views, the hot tub, the location, just what I needed for my getaway. Would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful week in this cottage! The views are amazing, the hot tub relaxing, and the beds comfortable. I couldn't think of anything that was missing from this home, toilet paper was even provided, which is very rare to find in vacation rentals. There are plenty of games and toys to keep people of any age entertained. The road up to and down from the cottage can be a little intimidating, but I felt like a complete pro by the time we left. There is a Wal-Mart not too far away, and a great, small town convenience store just down the mountain. I would definitely stay here again and can't wait to go back!
The owners are very accommodating, the cottage was exactly what my sisters and I were looking for, for our annual sister's weekend. Very adventurous ride to the cottage but well worth it, beautiful views, not far from downtown Winchester, home away from home.
We had the best time in this little cozy cottage. Located on the top of the mountain, it's removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. We also went into Winchester for an afternoon and found it charming. We would definitely stay here again!
Wow! What a fantastic Thanksgiving getaway we had at The Cozy Cottage! Clean, secluded, cable, Internet, games, and tons of thoughtful extras made our stay absolutely wonderful. Our dogs came with us and were completely relaxed and happy - they loved our early morning hikes surrounded by the great outdoors! We made a full Thanksgiving feast and had lots of pots, pans, crockpots, casserole dishes, and bowls to make it a stress free event. We were relieved that the owners had thought to stock the cottage with all the little things I didn't bring (foil, spices, charcoal, fluid, cooking spray, etc.). The Keurig is one that takes any brand of k-cups, too! We couldn't have been happier and are looking forward to returning to The Cozy Cottage soon. Thank you for sharing your home with us; we will never forget the memories of Thanksgiving 2016!
We rented the Cozy Cottage and were not disappointed at all. Everything worked (hot tub, air hockey, coffee machine) and I truly could not have been any more happier with our stay. It was very peaceful and comfortable and it made for a wonderful vacation. We were in town for a wedding and we made it into an extended vacation and rented the cottage. We visited DC on two different days, saw the Patsy Cline Museum and ate in downtown Winchester. We really enjoyed Crepe Works. The Wal-Mart was close for us to drive and get anything we needed. The drive to the cottage was a fun drive and absolutely beautiful. The view from the cottage was so pretty. We were lucky enough to be there when leaves were changing colors.

So you want to get away for a weekend? You send an inquiry and anxiously await an answer. I will always do my best to keep reservations on a first-come first-serve basis. However, inquiries do not reserve a property. Please keep in mind that HomeAway is a customer driven system. If another customer reserves the property with a payment, you could easily lose your slot if the owner accepts the payment. As a property owner, I do my best to watch for such instances however I am human after all...and mistakes can happen.
Along the lines of being human; accidents happen. However, when these accidents happen it can halt future reservations or cancel another renter's reservation. Due to recent damages to our home, we feel it is necessary to require a Property Damage Protection Policy. The policy protects both of us in the event of an accident.
The cleaning fee is non-refundable. This does not suggest for you to not pick up after yourself. The $75 fee is quite modest as it barely covers to cost of a two person crew. Please do not make it difficult to turn the house over for the next set of guests. Imagine your disappointment if you were the arriving guests after a destructive party weekend. The cleaning crew will need to delay your entry until the house is ready.
I have often been asked about discounts. As a wife of a veteran and the child of a police officer, I do understand your request. However, our rates are based on other homes' rental rates and our operating expenses. As the potential renter, please advise me if your budget does not afford the full amount up front. I will gladly accept an installment plan of up to three payments. I will also refund your money should you change your mind prior to your stay.
With all of that said....
Isn't it time to get away?!
