Our property is a large, beautifully presented 2 double bedroom caribbean style apartment which is situated around a 33m NEWLY RENOVATED POOL set in tropical gardens. It is on the first floor (UK = ground floor) and is ideal for a family, or one or two couples. Perfect for honeymooners too! Cas en Bas Beach is only a 5 minute walk with kite surfing and a local beach bar.
Each bedroom is air-conditioned and has an upright fan, TV and large en suite shower room. The sitting room also has a TV and a ceiling fan. The electrical outlets are British 240 volt standard 3 pin sockets. However, there are two 110 volt US style sockets in each bedroom. The property has mosquito screens installed throughout and free wifi internet access.
The fully appointed kitchen means that you have the choice of eating in or alfresco on the covered terrace. The private courtyard outside (with sun loungers) leads onto a large sundeck around the 33m pool.
There is a set of golf clubs available in the apartment if you were interested in playing at the St Lucia Golf Club which is next door to the property.
ADDITIONAL NOTES FROM THE OWNER:
Housekeeping is provided on a weekly basis for guests who are staying longer than one week. This includes change of linen, towels and beach towels plus cleaning throughout the apartment. For guests who require additional housekeeping, this can be arranged at an extra cost.
My property manager, who is based in St Lucia, can advise on airport transfers and/or hire cars both at a preferred rate. She can also offer tour discounts, spa treatments at the apartment and babysitting services.
Electricity is an additional charge and a meter reading is taken on arrival and then again on date of departure so you only pay for what you use. The meter is by the side of the apartment if guests would like to check it.

I lived in the apartment in St Lucia for 2 years and recently returned to the UK for my daughter's education. I loved living in St Lucia and the relaxed lifestyle it has to offer. My daughter also enjoyed her time on the island and became an adept sailor. We always felt safe and the people were very friendly. There is something for everyone here.

Some years ago now, we had been thinking of buying a holiday-home and, when on vacation in St Lucia, we fell in love with the Island and the rest is history!
The apartment stood out for us as the rooms are of a good size and it looks out onto the large communal swimming pool. The property is also only a few minutes walk to the beach which is on the atlantic side of the island and therefore has a constant breeze which is always very welcome.
Really great apartment. Loads of space. Clean. Well equipped and excellent management (the coffee machine was not working and we had a brand new one delivered within a few hours!!) Perfect location right by the pool and a short walk to the beach... perfect for kite surfers!
Would definitely stay here again.

Just returned from a month of kite surfing at Cas en Bas. We stayed on the beach at Cotton Bay (very nice). Rode every day except three when we went diving with Scuba Steve and water falling in the South. Beth and Bobby at Kiteboarding St Lucia were AMAZING with tips for nailing new tricks, fixing my 12M's leaky valve, rides to Duke's on Fridays, and loaning surf boards on the lighter days. Three sessions of night kiteboarding at Simon's Aquaholics full moon party last Saturday, with the DJ's music pumping over the bay, was a life-changing experience for me. Much respect to local artisans Woodpecker, Robert, and Coco, Marjorie's creole shrimp, Fidel's beautiful horses, Garrett's fresh bread, and badass local riders and party partners Sheila, Glenn, Sandy, and Sahab. Love and miss all of you! Don't forget to feed Spock!
This 2 bedroom apartment fit our needs perfectly! It's 2 minutes from the private beach and the huge pool was right outside the patio door. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils, and the space was large enough to accommodate four of us! It was clean and well maintained, and when we had a minor electrical issue, it was taken care of quickly and efficiently. It was only 10 minutes from Rodney Bay groceries, shops and restaurants, and a beach on the Caribbean side to watch the sunset! Thanks for sharing your lovely place!
We made arrangements through Janus car service to be picked up at the airport upon arrival and bring us to Cotton Bay Villas since it was an hour and a half away. We met up with the person who gave us the key and showed us around the apartment. We were not aware that we would only have air conditioning in the bedroom. No other place in the house had a/c (as the cost for electricity is very high and you will receive a bill upon your departure (this was a first)
It does get quite warm and there's very little breeze. I did do some cooking. Just be aware that the kitchen gets very warm once the oven is turned on, so you might want to stick to light cooking and dining out. Maid service is once a week and upon arrival you are given a cell phone which came in very handy.
Food at the supermarket is very expensive. Try and buy all local veggies from the vendors along the road. We shopped three times in the three weeks we were there and came out to $900 US and there wasn't much to show for that money.
The large lap pool is right outside your patio doors. They keep the place very clean, considering the place is run down and in need of repair. The beach which is a short walk away is perfect for spending the day. There's horse back riding along the beach. Great for swimming. Kite surfing lessons are given right there at the beach and one restaurant (Marjorie's) which we never went to. There are a few lounge chairs with cushions at the beach as well. We met some very nice people who return every years for months at a time. We met a lot of Canadians and Europeans during our stay.
Wir waren im November 2 Wochen auf St Lucia und haben uns für ein Apartment entschieden.
Die Wohnung von Clare war absolut perfekt für uns.
Sie hat 2 große Schlafzimmer mit jeweils anliegendem Bad und noch eine extra Toilette.
Die Küche ist ordentlich eingerichtet und man hat fast alles zur Verfügung was man braucht.
Die Waschmaschine und Spülmaschine funktionierten einwandfrei.
Es war herrlich morgens auf der Terasse frühstücken zu können und danach direkt an den Pool.
Der Strand war leider nicht so schön, was aber auch daran liegen kann das gerade Regenzeit war und dadurch alles auch sehr aufgewühlt war.
Wir haben uns außerordentlich wohl in der Wohnung gefühlt. Es gibt am Anfang einen Pförtner der genau guckt wer in die Anlage kommt und auch am Abend war Security Personal vorhanden. Dadurch haben wir uns auch sehr sicher gefühlt.
Bei Fragen oder Anmerkungen war Clare sofort bereit mit uns in Kontakt zu treten.

Logement spacieux , confortable et très bien aménagé avec goût. Rien n'y manque et les chambres sont très spacieuses. La résidence Cotton Bay est résidentielle et idéale pour passer un séjour au calme au bord de la piscine. C'est emplacement était également parfait pour se rendre au festival de Jazz sans embouteillages, mais il faut prévoir une voiture de location en avance. Clare répond et réagit très vite à toutes les questions et sollicitations par email, ce qui est fortement appréciable.
St Lucia is an unspoilt, beautiful island in the Caribbean Ocean with a lovely climate all year round. The Island's relaxed lifestyle allows you to switch off completely and take in it's natural beauty and the people are very welcoming and friendly.
Cotton Bay Village is a secluded condominium on the North East of St Lucia set in beautifully landscaped tropical gardens. It consists of only 72 units: stand-alone villas and small apartment blocks housing 3/4 apartments.
Natural and unspoilt Cas en Bas beach is only one hundred yards from the apartment and provides a lovely, cooling breeze. If you are a kite-surfer or would like to take lessons, there are 2 kite-surfing schools right there on the beach. Also, you can enjoy a drink or two at Marjory's local beach bar.
Plenty of opportunity to relax or if you want to try something more energetic utilise some of the local sporting amenities - kite-surfing, golf, tennis, yoga, kayaking, horse riding, diving to name but a few. Try out the new Diving Centre near Rodney Bay Marina or simply take in the beautiful Caribbean sea life by putting on your snorkel.
Next door to the condominium is St Lucia Golf Club, a challenging 18-hole golf course. You may borrow the set of golf clubs available in the apartment or hire clubs at the golf club. The golf club provides a free pick up service. Green fees vary but around US$120 per 18 holes including golf buggy.
Rodney Bay is a 15 min drive away and has a range of restaurants catering for all tastes and night life available for you to enjoy. Every Friday night there is a Street Party in nearby Gros Islet known as the 'Jump Up' where you can sample local food and music.
A taxi to Rodney Bay from the apartment will cost around USD16 one way. If you plan to see more of the island you might consider hiring a car to give you maximum flexibility. For info, Hewanorra Airport (1.5 hours away) & George Charles Airport (30 mins away). Helicopter is available between airports.
For food shopping you can choose between Super J's and GL Food Market in Rodney Bay. Super J's is the local chain of supermarkets with general groceries and local produce. GL Food Market is the more upmarket supermarket selling products from Waitrose in the UK.
Plenty of lovely local food to try: chicken roti, fried plantain, saltfish hot bakes, breadfruit pie, fig salad or grilled dorado to mention but a few. Also local fresh juice: soursop, tamarind, passion fruit, lime, mango depending on what is in season. Rum is of course the staple alcoholic drink here which is served in so many ways. I recommend Jambe de Bois Restaurant in Pigeon Island National Park to sample some of the above local dishes. Try out the jazz there on a Sunday evening.
Also, I recommend buying fresh coconut water in bottles on the side of the road - you will see trucks piled up with coconuts, stop there! (approximately EC$10 for a large bottle). It is great for rehydration. Apparently it tastes good with whisky too so I am told!
If you fancy some duty free shopping there is the Bay Walk Mall in Rodney Bay and also Pointe Seraphine and La Place Carenage in Castries where the cruise ships come in.
There are lots of excursions/tours that you can take on the Island depending on what interests you i.e. boat trips down to the south to see the Pitons, drive in volcano where you can wallow in the mud baths and hot sulphur springs and visit the botanical gardens and a waterfall; spend a day at sea sport fishing or whale & dolphin watching; zip line through the treetops of the rainforest or take an aerial tram to enjoy the flora and fauna ; the Jaquot Trail affords hikers opportunities to learn about the flora and fauna of St Lucia; Bean to Bar experience at Hotel Chocolat which ends with you making a chocolate bar using estate grown cocoa; Castries Waterworks forest reserve is a favoured environment for birdwatchers; day trip to Martinique (90 min journey) - take seasickness tablets if you suffer in that way; jeep safari or island buggy.
For the more adventurous you could climb Mount Gimie which is the tallest mountain on the island, the peak reaches 3117ft, or the view from the Gros Piton is apparently amazing.
For info, every year at the end of April/beginning of May there is a Music & Arts Festival held on the island. Guest artists over the years have included George Benson, John Legend, Natalie Cole, Amy Winehouse, the O'Jays and R Kelly. The Festival also features some very talented local performers/musicians.
