Our self-catering apartments are well equipped, licensed and safe. We take our pride in a clean and well kept apartment for our guests. Enjoy a 100 sqm apartment divided in to 2 bed rooms, a living room, spacious kitchen and a beautiful bathroom. If more than 4 guests we add the second floor with 2 more bed rooms and a big bathroom all in all this addition makes the apartment 160 sqm.

Hi, Im Jon.

I live with my husband Runi and our two girls. I am a Critical Care Nurse working as a flight nurse travelling to various places in the world to bring home people that have had accidents during their travels or are seriously ill.

I love being a host for our guest and do my best to make sure they are enjoying their stay with us.

We bought this property because it belonged to my husbands family. The house is one of the old West-side houses in Reykjavik located on a street along with most of the Embassies in Reykjavik. The location gives opportunities to live in the city with out using a car for your daily needs.

What makes this apartment unique

Being located here the house is with in a walking distance from the vivid live of the center but still in a silent neighborhood. From here it only takes 6 minutes to walk down to the harbor to go whale-watching or sea-angling.

  • The lower floor bathroom with old terrazzo floor is as every thing in the apartment spacious. It has good light and is well equipped with tables and draws. The same goes for the grand bathroom on the upper floor with a double shower and a bathtub. Detailed design for comfort.

  • The spacious bedrooms (20 and 18 m2) have 2 big windows each and therefore great lighting through them. Of course we understand that you may want to block out the midnight sun so the drapes do fully cover the windows. Each bedroom has a king size bed and sleeps 2.

Very nice home, centrally located

The home is great, large rooms, nicely located to walk all over the city. It hads everything we needed for our group of 5 adults.

Warm spacious house, very close to centre of town.

The apartment was very comfortable, lovely kitchen for home cooking, with added bonus of supplies of sugar, muesli , honey etc, much better than wasting leftovers which happens a lot in Uk holiday houses.Beds were huge and mattresses comfortable. Parking easy just outside on street, could walk to shops and central Reykjavik in just a few minutes.

There were only four of us because eldest son couldn't come at last minute, so masses of room, but could easily fit far more people in. Best of both worlds staying in a house, because you can still go out for meals if you feel like it, but can also relax and cook together if you don't feel like going out after a late night looking for Northern Lights the day before.

would recommend this apartment for families or group of friends.

First class in every respect

Comfortable and inviting home comfortable for six or seven. Perfect location. You only need a car if you're going to tour outside of Reykjavik. Walking distance to great stores and restaurants. Jon, the owner, is very accommodating host. We highly recommend this fine property.

Fantastic property and location for our larger group! I can't imagine a nicer space!

We LOVED our apartment at 32 Tungata!! Though I mentioned we had a larger group (6 people) I believe you can rent part of the house as well as the lower level so you should definitely consider this space even if you are a smaller party!

The directions from the airport were fantastic and easy to follow -- take the flybus to the Salvation Army/Hotel Reykjavik Centrum and walk three short blocks up the street past all of the embassies!! We didn't rent a car as the grocery story was 1/2 a mile in the opposite direction and downtown was easily walkable -- everything was within a mile!

The city is full of charming shops and great food! We got a few recommendations from the owner Jon about a special restaurant for our friend's birthday dinner -- pricey but well worth it -- KOL, on the main street leading to the church you'll want to head up for fantastic views of the city!!

The house was fantastic -- a very large kitchen for coffee and breakfast and making dinner on the day we got storm warnings! 4 HUGE bedrooms with fantastic beds -- so comfortable and relaxing after a day of exploring (we did Extreme Iceland's Lava Cave Tour and Northern Lights combination -- not for the faint of heart but well worth it!!) . One bedroom/bathroom downstairs (not ensuite) with a shower and plenty of room and three bedrooms upstairs with an AMAZING bathroom with shower and deep soaking tub. A large dining room for all of your meals and adventure planning.

This place was just fantastic -- the location could not have been better, the layout and privacy for 2 couples a single (not related) and a 9 year old was fantastic. The decor is not fancy, just very cool and livable!! Great for families who want a space for kids to spread out and go to bed without being on top of each other -- great for friends after a week of travel who need space and the ability for everyone to be together!!

Will definitely come back to try out Iceland in the summer and will hope to stay at 32 Tungata!!

Look no further--32 Tungata is where you want to stay.

Better than advertised! Our 2 couples shared the 1st and 2nd floors of this amazing, clean, and well appointed house. The main floor includes one bedroom and bathroom with shower, the dining room, a sitting room, and the kitchen. All the rooms are much larger than typical for European housing. The kitchen is well-stocked with a center island built around a top-of-the line gas oven and stovetop. The coffee maker got daily use. The second floor includes another bedroom and a 2nd bathroom with tub and a huge shower with 2 heads.

There are additional bedrooms that can be accessed for larger groups.

The house sits among the many embassies in a quiet neighborhood near a church and a small school. The main shopping and eating district is an easy 10 minute walk. A bakery and small grocery are the same 10 minute walk away, with a full-size grocery just a few more minutes away. If you have a car, there is easy street parking, and highway access in and out of the city is very straightforward.

The owner, Jon, was very friendly and concerned with our satisfaction. He quickly responded to a defective light bulb and showed us the error of our ways with the TV remote.

Without a doubt, we will look first to 32 Tungata when we return to Iceland
