Firstly people should know that the address is not given until the night before......this caused me a little confusion with trying to preorganize travel plans. Also took a while to receive a second key......ask for this before hand. The apartment caretaker wasn't very friendly.....actually quite abrupt.
Here's the fantastic part.....this studio apartment is in an excellent location......it's clean and very well equipped......we loved it and would go back in a heartbeat!
The flat was as described and met all of our needs, tidy and clean. Many amenities in the surrounding area, with quick access to public transportation. While there was minor miscommunication, owner and property manager promptly met our needs.
Avoid the more touristy parts of the city. I stayed in Times Square several times and really enjoyed seeing a different part of the city. Being only two blocks away from the subway you still have access to anything you need in the city or want to see. Pete's Tavern a block away had an amazing Reuben sandwich. The Skylark is always a rooftop bar favorite. Also if you are catching a show, hit up Jimmy's corner. It's a hole in the wall but drinks are cheap and it is run by the former cornerman for Muhammad Ali. Most nights he still pops in. But back to the apartment, it was clean, and had everything you would need for a stay in the city. Honestly you are only there long enough to sleep and shower anyway. If the first floor ground noise bothers you bring some earplugs. There is noise from some neighboring construction and of course passersby. But you are staying in the city that never sleeps so that is to be expected. Other than that no complaints to think of.
In the hustle and bustle of New York City, especially Manhattan, this studio is a lovely respite. I made a couple of suggestions to the manager to make it even better. She was very appreciative and accommodating. The neighborhood is quiet (except for the nearby construction) and offers many great places to eat. I would recommend this place and will definitely stay here again next time I'm in NYC.
This is a great place to stay in Manhattan. The flat is just steps away from Union square. From there, you can get transport to anywhere in Manhattan. The flat itself is clean and comfortable. There is a trader Joe's just 5 minutes away. Would stay there again.
