This beautiful new home, with its large deck and covered porch, was built in traditional Block Island style in 2008. It offers spacious living with ocean views to the west from all three levels. The option of large screened windows, central heat and air conditioning ensure complete comfort in every season. The generous interior space and large yard are perfect for family reunions and relaxing vacations.

The first floor is mainly one large open space that flows easily from the kitchen at the back of the house to the dining and living areas up front. You can stand in the kitchen and see right through to the dining room and living area while chatting with a friend who is standing on the deck.

We built a large, Shaker-style dinning table that can seat up to 14 comfortably. The gourmet kitchen is well-equipped and features soapstone counter tops, a large island and all of the large and small appliances you'll need to entertain. The new kitchen includes a 48' Wolf range ( 2 ovens, 6 burners & griddle), 36' Sub Zero Refrigerator, 2 separate freezer drawers, free standing ice maker , microwave and two dishwashers.

Adjacent to the kitchen is the mud room with washer and dryer and a nice, convenient half bath. There is also a private bedroom with queen bed on the first floor. This suite has its own full bath with shower and tub finished with subway tiles and a marble-topped vanity. Despite being close to the living area, this is a very quiet, comfortable room to stay in.

The second floor includes the master suite with king bed, flat screen TV, and full private bath. This includes a large double vanity with marble counter tops, a large shower with subway tiles & glass door, and a separate antique claw-foot soaking tub with amazing ocean views.

Third bedroom with queen bed and fourth bedroom with two twin beds share a bath with full shower and tub with subway tiles and marble topped vanity.

Third floor loft includes a TV/ Computer area and an additional sleeping area with two twin beds. This is a sleeping area that is great for kids. It is not a private bedroom, it is open to the TV area and stairs.

About Melinda Marye-Kelley

My husband and I are both artists and we love family, relaxation and entertaining. We designed and built this house with these things in mind.

Melinda Marye-Kelley purchased this house in 1995

Why Melinda Marye-Kelley chose USA

We love the peace and quiet on the west side of the island. The sunsets are amazing.

What makes this house unique

The beaches near our West Side home are a bit rougher than the bathing beaches in town. On the other hand, they are within walking distance, almost always overlooked by the crowds, and they are the best place to be when the sun is setting!

Amazing Stay

  • 5 of 5

We rented this beautiful home for a Thanksgiving weekend that will not soon be forgotten. The kitchen was perfect for the meal prep and I envy what it has for my own home. The accommodations were perfect for our family gathering. The rooms were terrific and the views incredible. We had very chilly weather so the deck was not used with the exception of taking pictures of the beautiful sunsets. I would snatch this property up again when we get a chance to be on Block Island again. Loved it.

Beyond Expectation

  • 5 of 5

We rented this beautiful home for a vacation with my husband's teen-aged daughters and a couple of our friends. We all agreed (even the teens!) that this was a wonderful home. I have rented quite a few homes on Martha's Vineyard, and none of them compare to this amazing home. The decor, amenities, location and view are second to none. The home felt brand-new (but not sterile) and was very welcoming. The sunsets viewed from an adirondack chair on the deck were breathtaking. And if you like to cook, this kitchen will give you the urge to go home and renovate your own! If you are considering the rental of this home over another; think no more- pick this one!

Ideal Vacation Location

  • 5 of 5

Been vacationing as a family for several years on Block Island and by far this is our favorite location. Located on the side of the island where evenings are cooler and island life is quieter, this "resort" is a short 10 minute walk to a secluded beach and a short 10 minute drive to town. We spent most of our evenings on the wrap-around covered porch , which is open for star gazing is one section. Air conditioning is great on rainy or very humid days but otherwise not required. The kitchen is large and can easily support multiple "self proclaimed" chefs competing for preparation and cooking space.

My wife and I, our close friends and grown children had a great 2014 Block Island vacation and have signed on for a 2015 repeat.

An excellent rental.

  • 5 of 5

Without a doubt, this rental property is one of the finest properties that we have experienced. My wife and I rented this property for one week in July 2014. Our son was to be married on Block Island and we were looking for a rental that would accommodate a number of professional friends during the week immediately prior to the wedding. The common areas and bedrooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen is large, well stocked, and incredibly modern, lacking no amenities. We were impressed with the layout of the interior rooms and the responsiveness of the owners to a few special requests. Guests could come and go with ease and the property easily handled the needs of all of our guests. Certainly there was considerable thought given to the design of every detail of this property. Every one of our guests had very positive comments regarding their stay during the week. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a truly special experience on Block Island.

50th Birthday Celebration

  • 5 of 5

10 of us stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday. The house was plenty big for all of us. The only downside being that the 2 people that slept on the 3rd floor in the loft would have to go down 2 flights of stairs in the middle of the night to get to a bathroom. We spent the days shopping and eating in the town and visiting the beaches. We grilled at the house each night because the sunsets were so beautiful from the deck.
