This recently remodeled two bedroom home is truly one of a kind. It is both modern and rustic with all of the conveniences that you love tucked into a perfectly charming package. Built in the 1890's, this home is an enduring piece of Pagosa's colorful cultural history and a great home base for exploring the amazing Upper San Juan Basin.
We provide all of the amenities that you expect to find in a vacation rental, plus some. Our fully stocked kitchen includes things like basic spices and oils, coffee filters, garbage bags, dish soap, dishwashing detergent etc. The dining table seats eight. Amenities for entertainment include a flat screen television (with cable) in both the living room and the dining room, a dvd player, iPod/iPhone charging/speaker dock w/ CD player, and there is of course wifi on site. We provide plenty of fluffy towels, and a well stocked laundry room too.
The kitchen is chock-full of craftsmanship. The cabinet frames were welded from steel and fit with boxes from a local cabinetmaker. The countertops are concrete, easy to clean and easy to work on. There are also undercabinet lights, a gas range and oven, an over sized stainless sink and all of the cookware, servingware, small appliances and gadgets that make cooking easy and fun!
The dining room / bar is one of my favorite rooms in the house. The north wall is made of stone, with steel support beams, there is a beautiful red brick floor and the south wall is the original exterior siding. Wide, locally milled lumber; one of the beautiful details from the original construction that we were able to save. Combined with some tech lighting, an amazing custom built steel and glass chandelier, beautiful handmade furniture and a flat screen television, it's the perfect combination of old and new.
Upstairs you will find two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and across the hallway there is another bedroom with a queen sized bed. Both rooms have ample closet space. Downstairs is the bunk room, with a queen sized sofa sleeper and a twin sized muprhy bed. The house will sleep a total of seven.
There is one full bathroom outfitted with a large soaking tub / shower combination and heated concrete floors. The on demand water heater (endless hot water!) and excellent water pressure are definitely worthy of special mention.
Out the back door you will find a flagstone patio, fenced on three sides for privacy. There is a private six person hot tub, a full sized gas grill and plenty of seating. You will be amazed at the vibrant night sky views, even from downtown.
The 70amp Clipper Creek charging station speaks for itself. It is adjacent to the property and available to the public for use, but only steps away.
Sustainability was the goal in the remodel of this home. We sourced our materials locally, quite often reclaiming them ourselves, and we found creative ways to use materials that we already had. We installed primarily LED lighting and we buy renewable energy from our local electric co-op. None of these things will affect your experience in staying here, unless they matter to you. And in that case, you can rest easy knowing that you are supporting local Pagosa Springs businesses, energy conservation and mindful building practices. We also live here in Pagosa Springs and are more than happy to be available to you!
We are long time Pagosa Springs residents and are thankful to live, work and play here. We have remodeled several downtown properties in the past several years and these properties have become Incredible Pagosa Vacation Rentals, which we manage together. Our home is just a mile and a half away from the rentals and we are always available to answer questions or handle any situations that may arise.
Ohea Graham purchased this house in 2012
We are particularly fond of downtown Pagosa Springs. This house came to us in very poor condition and ended up being one of the most fun and rewarding remodels we have ever completed. We have two rentals on N 8th Street and another on N 7th, also short term rentals - click the 'See all of my rental listings' link below to learn more. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to restore this property, and to improve our neighborhood too.
Downtown Pagosa Springs is the place to be! This home is within walking distance of restaurants, entertainment, three different hot springs spas, the San Juan River, Reservoir Hill with it's hiking and bike trails, festivals, and disc golf course, Town Park with it's festivals and events, coffee shops, a wonderful bakery, a craft beer brewery, an organic market and deli, plus so much more... It is a completely different experience from staying in subdivision outside of town. In the winter downtown is one of the closest places that you can stay to Wolf Creek Ski Area, saving 15 or 20 minutes of driving per day compared to staying in the Fairfield area.
Our overall stay at this home and the town of Pagosa was a delight. This truly is a very underrated town as well as Wolf Creek Resort. The locals like it this way though.
My family and I are sort of foodies. Our first stop was Kips, good food , friendly helpful staff. The most disappointing to us was Riff Raff. I was excited to try this place because I don't believe you can search pagosa restaurants and this place not pop up. Hour wait, not so friendly, catfish so game an dark we couldn't eat it, obviously frozen burger patty, good but pricey drinks.
Our favorite was "The Buck Stops Here". The only place we visited twice. The decor could use a little designer touch but the amazing food and staff more than make up for it. Ribeye burger hands down best burger in years I've had.
The cabin: beautiful, old yet modern. Everything you could want in a 100 year old home remodel job. Beds were so comfortable I want them in my home. Kitchen and dining rooms are stunning. More groceries than they let on. There was milk, coffee, snacks, any utensil for cooking that you can imagine.
Do yourself a favor and stay here!
We will be back!
It was a great little property with an interesting Style we love being so close to town and all the restaurants hot tub was awesome
We really enjoyed staying at this property. We were able to walk downtown to the shops and the uniqueness of the place was great. You can definitely see how much detail went into restoring the home.
This house was easy to find, very central to everything in town and had all the amenities one needs. Highly responsive owner who makes sure everything is perfect. Would stay here again without any hesitation.
My wife and I had a wonderful time in this beautiful cabin. They have done a great job with the restoration and design. You couldn't ask for more!!
We had an excellent stay! We loved the cabin and the decor. It was perfect for our family. Very clean and comfortable. The location was great. Shopping and restaurants are just a minutes walk into town. It is close to everything. We enjoyed hiking, taking scenic drives and the hot springs. We also enjoyed the hot tub. We had a wonderful visit and can't wait to return.
