About The Owner

For over three generations our family has been coming to Bridgton, ME, traveling from Boston, New York City and Florida to vacation with one another.

Our family has grown up on this lake swimming, boating, water-skiing and tubing.

What makes this cottage unique

Our home is the perfect place to bring family and friends together for some summer fun and much needed R&R.

The front porch just off the living room is the central gathering point of the house, which starts with coffee in the morning as the sun rises and the warmth of the day builds.

At any point during the day you have your choice of shade or the direct rays of the sun on the porch. The direct access and shallow sandy beach allow you to comfortably wade in the water or take the plunge into the clean lake water.

As the sun sets and the lake stills, it's happy hour on the porch with a glass of wine and great conversation. The smell of the grill fills the air and the only sounds are the loons on the lake, the crickets and laughter.

It's our escape from city life, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Our Highland fling

  • 5 of 5

We rented this Highland Lake house in July because we love the area and we wanted to spend some time with our grandchildren. We all had a great time. My son and his family paddled on a new paddleboard while my wife and I kayaked. When we were not on the water we were in it. The sandy beach was our hangout. The cabin was ideal. There was plenty of room for four adults and three children. We ate all our meals on the large deck and melted our smores around the fire pit on the beach. We all agreed that e would like to come back again.

2nd Review & Another Great Stay!!

  • 5 of 5

My daughters & I had another great vacation staying at this house! This house feels like a 2nd home to us. This time, my eldest daughter caught a bass right off the dock! My other daughter caught a smaller bass & both were happy. This house has everything you need, except your bed linens & towels (as stated in description).

If you decide to rent this property, you will NOT be disappointed!! my 1st review is titled, "absolutely wonderful"! My daughters & I will be going back again next year! Can't wait!!

Wonderful Experience in Everyway

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at this cottage. The location was wonderful, away from town and at the quiet end of the lake. There is a sandy beach we walked to in addition to using the sandy beach in front of the cottage

The sandy beach in front of the cottage was perfect for the younger ones. They could use the stairs and play in the shallow water. We could sit in the furnished lawn chairs while the children safely played.

The dock was perfect for the boat we rented from Long Lake Marina. We rented a pontoon boat with tubing equipment. They delivered to the public boat launch. Everyone was very busy with tubing, kayaking and canoeing.

Mornings were very peaceful. We ate breakfast on the deck overlooking the serene water. At night we listened to the loons. A bald eagle swooped down and caught a fish right in front of us. Warblers were singing in the area at the end of the lake, near enough to walk around this area. The sunset was beautiful.

Inside we had all the amenities we needed. The internet worked great for all those who couldn't break away from their electronic devise. The kitchen was nicely furnished so we were able to prepare the limited meals we chose to serve. The fire pit was great for s'mores.

The cottage was clean and everything was in working order. The only suggestion would be for a way to rent linens and towels instead of having to carry these items on airplanes.

One day we went to Storyland in NH. Another outing was to Pie Tree Orchard for Maine maple syrup and fruit picking, but the rest of the time was spent on the lake. We did make a trip to the Gazebo for ice cream daily. Hiking and geocaching in the area were a nice change of pace for those who wanted to do something away from the water.

The owner sent emails with all necessary information, making it easy for us to know what to do and expect. The nearby property manager was friendly and unobtrusive.

Overall, this was a wonderful experience. We hope to return in the future.

This is a WONDERFUL home!!! Just as in pictures, but honestly BETTER in person!! I LOVED it & so did my kids (21 & 18yr olds). Everything you needed was there except bed linens, which IS mentioned for you to bring, so no problem! I loved that the master bedroom on the 2nd floor had it's own balcony! I woke every morning & took a step outside to say good morning to Highland Lake!! The views are awesome from that balcony & also from the main floor deck! I LOVE this house!!! It felt very comfy & welcoming when we walked in. The only thing I would change, is to have the 1/2 bath upstairs as a full bath (just would make it easier if more than 2 people staying at house & having to take shower's). This house felt like my own home for the week I was there. LOVE the kitchen!!!!

This wasn't my 1st visit to Bridgton. My in-laws owned a house at almost the other end of the lake, but it was sold due to my father in-laws passing, so having to been & stayed in this area for at least 20yrs & be able to find a rental home on the SAME lake in the SAME town.......PRICELESS!!!!!! This property is WONDERFUL!! There was a metal canoe, which my kids used to go fishing. The property manager next door (Sue & Sandy) brought over a kayak for my kids to use also. I purchased my "floaty-float-float" from Walmart & needed an air-pump & the property manager came to my rescue! I LOVED my stay here & have made the decision already, that I want to go back next year!! So did my kids!! This house was perfect for me & I loved how it was decorated!!! It had a nice tv in the living room & in the master bedroom. It had ceiling fans in the livingroom & all the bedrooms, which was great to have on a few nights that were alittle warm. I was able to sleep with the sliding doors (in the master bedroom upstairs) opened & woke up to a beautiful view of Highland Lake. My kids were happy with this house also, as they each had their own rooms! This house was perfect for us!! There are metal stairs the you can walk down right into the lake. That was great! A very nice pier to fish off of, as my kids did & also sunbath on. I LOVED this house!!! I LOVE Maine & now that I have been to this house, I will be going back every year!! What I really loved too, was that there was a info list on the frig, telling you about things you need to know about the house, like, where the garbage bags are located, about outside garbage cans, etc.

LOVE this house & WILL be going back next year!!!!! RENT IT!

The Ford's

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 adults and 2 small children enjoyed our recent vacation at this beautiful waterfront home. The photos are very accurate on the web site, no surprises when we arrrived. The home is clean and very well equipped with everything you would need, especially the kitchen area. You can't get any closer to the lake and the views are spectacular. The deck is very spacious with a large gas grille, many chairs and a dining table. The lake is very clear and has a sandy bottom with easy entry for small children or the elderly. We loved having a fire each night in the fire pit outdoors. We were concerned about only having one large trash barrel for an entire week, but the Property Manager (next door) came and took away the trash for us after a few days, so it was not a problem. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place on Highland Lake.
