Spacious and comfortable
Exceeded our expectations. Lots of space and comfortable.
Big generous house, perfect for our large family gathering
With the spacious kitchen, which provided lots of opportunities to cook and talk and eat and talk for multiple family members, the very open living area, allowing comfort and movement to those who needed to sit and toddlers who needed to move, and the nooks and crannies offering private reading or piano practicing areas, our big multi-generational family found the property an oasis. And we liked the swimming. We were used to the Sound tides fluctuations but it might be a surprise to those who grow up on lakes where the water level is constant. One clogging sink was dealt with by the owner’s handyman pretty expediently. Overall very enjoyable!
The property is located in a 5 star location.
This home is located in a terrific part of Old Greenwich. The house has a beautiful design and is very comfortable. We used the outside deck a lot. The owner is very accommodating and answered my questions very quickly. The house is advertised as sleeps 10 but really there is one king size bed and two full size beds. The rest of the rooms do not have beds, one room has a pull out couch and the basement has a blow up mattress. The refrigerator and freezer were full of food. There was very little room for our groceries. The bathrooms were nice but the shower and vanity were full of someones stuff leaving little room for our toiletries. As I was packing I was looking for a shoe and noticed under the bed was full of dust bunnies. In one of the upstairs bathroom the plug didn't work at all. The washer/dryer didn't work either. The large wooden knobs on the railing were loose and could easily fall on someones head on the couch below. The linens were stained and had a musty smell. The trash cans had no lids so the animals got into our trash and I had to pick up the garbage from the lawn. The tree swing broke while I was on it and the wooden seat clipped me in the ankle.
We really enjoyed walking to the private beach and sitting on the dock. We even got town passes and went to Tod's Point a local beach for the day. $7.00 per person and $35.00 for the car pass. It really was a terrific vacation I just feel it could have been better if the linens were fresh and the owner put away some of his own stuff. What is the cleaning fee for if no one cleans under the bed?
