About Molly Menegay

My husband and I split our time between our home in Dallas, TX and Bass Lake. We were both born in the midwest with summer ties to Northern Michigan. We have six grown children and 6 precious grandchildren!

Molly Menegay purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Molly Menegay chose Northern Michigan

We fell in love with this home while visiting family Up North in 2014. It is a quaint cottage with tons of character. It sits on a small lake boasting beautiful views. Nature abounds with great fishing, varied bird watching and singing frogs!!! You'll love this serene setting. There is a fire pit and patio by the lake. You will also enjoy our deck across the back of the house with a dining table and comfy furniture.

Amazing Cabin in a Beautiful Area

  • 5 of 5

This place is amazing. Very comfortable with lot's of different areas to gather. We used every room in the house as well as the dock, fire pit area, front porch and back porch. Used the kayaks on the lake too. Not sure why they don't show a picture of the master bedroom because it's roomy and great too. We will definitely stay again should we return to the area.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. The fall is one of our most favorite times of the year at the lake. The color change in the leaves is beautiful and the cool nights make for cozy evenings by the fire pit. We hope that you will come back soon!

What a wonderful place

  • 5 of 5

My sister and brother-in-law and my husband and I have rented homes all over Michigan, and this was absolutely one of the best. The home is in great condition, the decorating, the flowers and outside landscaping and fire pit, the location are incredible. We had such a good time getting to know the area - great restaurants nearby. Took day trips all around the area, visited wineries for tastings, shopped in some great shops, enjoyed the beaches and the hiking. Ran out of time before we ran out of things we wanted to do. What a great week we had. Thank you, Molly and Mike, for making your beautiful home available. We would certainly recommend your property.

Couldn't Be Nicer

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our granddaughter spent 6 days at this home and loved every minute of it. The home is comfortable, beautifully

decorated and has wonderful views of the lake. We spent our mornings and evenings on the deck just enjoying the setting. My husband kept the bird feeders full so lots of birds coming and going. For anyone wanting relaxation and privacy this is a beautiful and well maintained property.

You will not be disappointed.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much, the deck is a special place for us as well. We love to sit out there in the morning and watch the lake come alive. Please thank your husband for feeding the birds, I worry about them when we are gone. We enjoyed watching a loon family on the lake this summer. I hope that you will come back again next year!

Northern Michigan lakeside perfection!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed an incredible week in Mike and Molly's OUTSTANDING lakeside cabin. I almost hesitated to write this review because I feel like it is a secret slice of paradise that I want to keep that way! The cabin is comprised of truly the most comfortable and appealing of accommodations. When we arrived, weary from travel from New England, we were so grateful to be greeted by a completely pristine cabin with the most serene lakeside views. You can tell that Mike and Molly take great pride in their home - it shows in all of the details. The wonderful cabin decor, the high quality furnishings/bedding/towels, the extremely well-appointed kitchen, and the beautifully maintained landscaping, to name a few examples. Anytime we needed something, we could easily find it - whether it was a kitchen whisk, more fishing line, or extra towels (and were happily surprised that they had the items available to us). The location is great, too. An easy 25-30 minute to Traverse City (and its beautiful wine country!) and 30-40 to Sleeping Bear Dunes, and the town of Interlochen is less than 10 minutes away. Very ideally situated for everything you could want to do up north! We are already talking about our next trip to the cabin. Thank you Molly and Mike.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much. We love our little slice of paradise and enjoy sharing it with others. It is gratifying to receive these reviews. We are opening the cottage, for the first time this winter to a select few that might want to escape for a peaceful winter getaway. Keep us in mind for winter, spring, summer or fall. All of the seasons offer a type of lakeside serenity that we can't get enough of and think you may enjoy as well. So glad that you enjoyed it!

The property was superb!

My family had such a wonderful 2 week stay. We loved the scenery, the wildlife, and the house itself was clean, sweetly decorated and generously stocked. Molly kindly sourced us additional life jackets, and ensured we had everything we needed. Thanks so much Molly!

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at Paradise Pines for 5 days and we loved it! It is a beautiful log cabin, very clean, and not too close to the neighbors so you have privacy. We didn't have to bring a lot for our stay because the cabin was equipped with almost everything, which we greatly appreciated. Also, Molly provided a binder that had all the information about the cabin, where everything was, and favorite restaurants in Interlochen and Traverse City. It was very helpful. My husband and I stayed in the room with the king bed, which was very comfortable, and there was a huge walk-in closet that I wish I had. The kitchen was very spacious and there was so much room in the cottage for each of us to have our own space. We really loved being able to walk out the back door to the lake. There also was a lot of room in the back yard if you wanted to play games. Although we had a lot of rain, we were able to squeeze in some fishing. It was too cold for swimming, but we did notice a lot of lily pads and long weeds that were close to the shore. We never took the boat out, but did use the kayaks on the one sunny day we had. I wish the weather would have cooperated more, but all in all, we had a wonderful time and would definitely go back again. I would highly recommend this property to my family and friends. Thank you Molly for making our stay that much more enjoyable.

Owner's Response: We are always so thankful to receive reviews of our home and are so happy that you enjoyed yourselves in spite of the rain. The lily pads are pretty to look at and are great for fishing but can be bothersome for swimming which is why we try to keep them groomed back in the beach area of our lake access. We will take a look at them when we get up there next week to insure that there is a weed & lily pad "free zone" for swimming and lake fun. Thanks agin for choosing Paradise Pines, come back and see us soon!
