Summerhaven Beach House is a spectacular fully updated century home located oceanfront and overlooking miles of surf and sand; a vacation spot that is truly PEI. Breathtaking views in all directions - beach combing at your doorstep with new treasures to find each day. Relax on the oceanfront deck with views of both the sunset and sunrise.
Southern exposure makes this one of the warmest beaches on the Island. At low tide hundreds of acres of sand are exposed leaving shallow tide pools that are warmed by the sun. It is a perfect spot for swimming, walking, and exploring. The waters here are warm and inviting and perfect for families and young children.
Located within minutes of the charming village of Victoria-by-the-Sea there is theatre, fishing, kayaking, antiquing and restaurants nearby.
The living room and kitchen both overlook the beach and stunning blue ocean so when you aren’t sitting outside, you can still keep it in view from indoors.
Eight people can sleep comfortably at Summerhaven. There are three spacious bedrooms upstairs - each one with a big window to let in the fresh ocean breezes and a view of the ocean.
The history of Summerhaven is unique - Designed by Island architect C.B. Chappell and originally built for the PEI Railroad, it was home to Railroad Stationmasters since 1900. The house was recently fully restored and moved here to the ocean.
Your PEI vacation awaits!

WE had a great time at Summerhaven. Our son loved building sand castles and jumping in tidal pools. The beach at low tide is magical. We hope that we can come back next summer for a longer stay. Thanks for all your hospitality.
You always expect that the pictures will be a little better than the reality, but in this case, no picture can do justice to just how beautiful the setting is for Summerhaven cottage. It honestly takes your breath away when you drive up.
The beach - at low tide, you can walk half a mile out from the shore. There is abundant life in the tidal pools to look at. There are hardly any other people out there, it's like having your own private, massive beach.
The house - very comfortable and the owners have though of everything. Every time we thought of something we needed, we discovered it was already there for us. Neighbours not too close. Peaceful and perfect.
PEI - it's a nice home base for visiting other parts of the island. On PEI nothing is that far away and there is gorgeousness at every turn. To be honest, we were so smitten with our beach that we mostly just stayed at the cottage and enjoyed it.
We just returned from a wonderful week at Summerhaven. Our sibling reunion wouldn't have been the same anywhere else. We enjoyed crisp mornings overlooking the ocean, long walks at low tide, amazing lobster dinners, bike rides along the country roads and much more. We were astonished everyday by the care the owners took to ensure everything we could need or want was there for us. This cottage has so much charm to enjoy on cool or rainy days, but on most days, the social spaces outside are perfect to gather everyone. The location was central enough that we were easily able to take in all the regions on the island. The pictures really don't do it justice... you will be pleasantly surprised.
You can't beat the location of this place. Situated right on the ocean with a red sandy beach where the tide goes way out every morning, it was wonderful. The house/cottage was fine, but the pictures are strategically angled/selective so you don't get the whole picture. The sweet little house needs some TLC - walls cracked, paint peeling in the bedrooms. The house was tidy when we arrived, but not clean. I did mention this to the host but didn't hear back about it. There were cobwebs and dead flies around the house. It didn't exactly bother us as it is a cottage setting, but something that definitely should have been cleaned before we arrived. The beds, unfortunately, were not comfortable.
I know this sounds like a scathing review, but we did really enjoy ourselves - we just expected more from this property especially for the price. Again, you can't beat the location - it's simply breathtaking and peaceful, and accessible to other towns etc.
Carol was responsive and friendly to deal with. The bottle of wine upon our arrival was a nice touch.
We cannot say how much we loved our week at Summerhaven. We couldn't have had a more perfect vacation! The house was lovely and full of charm. We felt at home from the minute we walked in! The location and view of the ocean are second to none. The beach was fantastic for exploring and collecting shells with our daughter. So private too! The water was warm and inviting and we had so much fun splashing and digging. The views of the sky and ocean are so breathtaking, you may never want to leave:)) Truly a feast for the eyes and the soul! Cannot wait to return to your beautiful slice of heaven, thanks so much again for sharing it with us:)
This is an amazing place to stay. And the owners were responsive to all our inquiries. The drive up to see it the first time was breathtaking. When the tide goes out we would walk on the beach picking up shells and snails, and exploring the tidal pools. The house it airy and cool at night and we would spend our late evenings looking up at the stars and listening to the ocean. It was also easy to drive and explore other parts of PEI. I would highly recommend this place to anyone planning a visit. Thanks!
We had a wonderful stay, despite weather that could have been better for the week. The house was clean and has great views. Very well equipped. The communication was first class and very quick responses. A great vacation!
