The cabin was cute, quaint and met most of our needs for the 5 days we were there. The hot tub was awesome and we soaked every night under the stars, when clouds did not obscure. Some of the neighbors were a bit sketchy and had extremely trashy yards, but we never felt unsafe. We did have a hard time starting the gas fireplace and called and spoke to Chris. He was helpful, but not much he could do since he was in Raleigh. The local person did not answer their phone ever and we were not able to leave messages. Finally, we got the fireplace started after about 30 minutes of trying. We also endured a ladybug infestation the first two days we were there. Not sure why, but they all congregated around the dining room window. We just kept scooping them up and putting them back outside. I could think of worse infestations than little ladybugs! :) The one thing that made me give my review only 4 stars, was the lack of communication with the rental company. I sent several emails that all went unanswered. I finally spoke to someone on the phone because we extended our stay by one more night and I asked about Christmas decorations and if the owner decorates the cabin. The gentleman said he did not know, but would inquire and let the owner know. Well, when we arrived there were no decorations. We would have brought our own had we been given an answer one way or another. I had also inquired about some $49 charge, "Accommodations Protection Program" and nobody answered me regarding that either. All in all, I would return knowing what I know now. And it's very close to Asheville....25 minutes!
We loved our love nest. We suggest planning accordingly. Everything is a 20-30 minute drive away. We got dinner and food from Ingles before headed to the cabin. Only dislike would be the living room does not have curtains for the windows; therefore at night we felt like someone could be watching us so we just stayed in the rooms after dark. Quiet and relaxing area. Overall great experience.
Nice little place off the beaten path. Great for getting away and having some a lone time. All the amenities needed for a quiet, relaxing stay.
Overall the cottage was ok. When we got there the place was 99 degrees and it was so hot the entire place was hot to touch...literally. Seemed like someone had set the thermastat to the wrong setting. Had to open all the windows, put the air on and air outside for a little bit. There were a lot of dead bugs (and live ones) lady bugs, stink bugs and about a hundred dead yellow jackets in the one window. Luckily bugs don't really bother me, just probably would be better without them! Gives the impression thing could be cleaner/more tidy. Other than those things, the beds were comfy, jacuzzi was clean and good directions and info for things to do around the area!
Very cute cottage my dog enjoyed the big yard and we explored the road past the house with the dog a few times and it was interesting. The check-out time was a tad bit early would be my only complain.
We had to emergently travel to NC from CO for a very stressful situation for our family. The owners were very accommodating in letting us stay and make our reservation last minute. My husband and I were wanting a nice peaceful place to be able to come back to and escape from our family emergency. That is exactly what the cuddle cottage provided us with. The beds were comfortable, the hot tub was relaxing and it felt like we were able to come home every night even though we were 1500 miles from home.
