Location location location! We have been vacationing in the Eastham area for some years and fell in love with the beaches and nature. This cottage was just at the right spot to access the beaches as well as provide a calm retreat with the pond.
The pond and the location: Lovely pond views from the cottage and easy access to both bay and ocean beaches.
Thank you very much for letting us rent your cottage. We had a wonderful time. Thank you again for being such a great host and taking care of the issue with the shower right away. We really appreciated that and it works great now. We look forward to coming back to the Cape next year.
We had a lovely stay in this small cottage located on a private pond in Eastham. It's the perfect size for a couple and one or two small children. The location is ideal as it is in between Wellfleet and Orleans. Our stay was very serene and it is a good place to get away and relax for a few days.
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy Eastham cottage. We particularly liked having our coffee and breakfast on the deck looking out at the pond. It's in a perfect, convenient location for accessing all the National Seashore has to offer. I think it might be a little too cozy for more than two adults. The bathroom is rather small, and it has a narrow entrance from the kitchen with the stove jutting out.
Stayed for one week with husband then adult daughter. Recently remodeled cottage with 3 small clean rooms(good mattresses on full and bunks) and small bathroom with a great shower (small stall!). Kitchen well supplied re glassware, utensils, dishes pots/pans. Great electronics, wifi, small TV can access Netflix!, A/C for warm eve's. Despite cottages on either side, it felt private. Wonderful deck to relax, overlooking the pond (can hear Rt 6 traffic) that gets partial sun so never too hot to sit out and enjoy coffee am or gl wine pm, fun watching the many varied birds. Great to have garden hose at front door for sandy feet. Daily swim in pond, perfect temperature, fun with a noodle.
Bike path is within a block (gravel driveway manageable) but crossing Rt 6 to get to it can be dicey. Arnold's seafood 1/2 mi away. 4 miles to Stop and Shop/Christmas Tree Shop(cheap beach supplies) in Orleans. We hope to go again next year!!
Loved it. Very homey. Has a real Cape Cod feeling. Was very relaxing sitting on the deck in the morning watching the sun rise and nature come to life. Had a family of chip monks and lots of different birds. Cabin was very well stocked. I will definately recommend to friends and family
This cottage was a wonderful well kept cottage. Joseph was a wonderful host! We had such a great experience that we will be coming back to stay at this cottage again in the future. The cottage was very clean and perfect for a week in the Cape. At a very central location, it was very easy to get to many of Cape Cods attractions such as the national seashore, the rail trail and Provincetown. I definitely recommend this cottage.
Beautiful cottage! The view from the balcony was the best part, loved spending hours just sitting, relaxing, and forgetting about work, and phone. Going back home all relaxed now. Thank you Joseph for always getting back to my text or emails within minutes, and you were right Provincetown was a great place to check out. Once again thank you for letting us stay, had a memorable Memorial Day weekend
The cottage is located close to the Cape Cod Rail Trail:
The Cape Cod Rail Trail (CCRT) is a paved bikeway that runs 25 miles from South Dennis to Wellfleet. The terrain is relatively flat with some minor grades in certain sections in the Lower / Outer Cape areas, specifically Orleans and Wellfleet. It easily offers the greatest variety in scenery and natural landscapes of all the regional bike paths.
The trail stretches from Route 134 all the way to Lecount Hollow Road in South Wellfleet. The name stems from an old railroad right of way it follows, which transported passengers and freight to Cape Cod in the early 1800s until around 1960. The CCRT is managed by the MA Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR). It passes by many local points of interest and several areas with lakes suitable for swimming / picnicing, including Nickerson State Park in Brewster.
Continuously monitored by local police bike patrols, this paved path is a safe and enjoyable way to spend a Cape Cod summer day. Traveling through the towns of Dennis, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham and Wellfleet, the smoothly-paved surface (akin to gravel asphalt) makes the CCRT ideal for cyclists, walkers, inline skaters and runners. Bicycle and rollerblade rentals are also available at various bike shops conveniently located right along the trail in Dennis, Brewster, Orleans and Wellfleet.
