Robinwood Inn’s newest place to call home for your stay in beautiful Brown County is one of Nashville’s oldest artist Homesteads. Get a real feel for the spirit of Brown County as you step back in time and become part of the Village life. Watch our sleepy town wake up while you sip coffee from the porch swing. Take an evening stroll around town to do some window shopping after dinner. Walk to everything in the Village, and then return to your secret garden hideaway in the middle of downtown.
Originally the home and Studio of the Brown County Pottery, this wonderful Village Bungalow, is returning to its roots and will become part home and part studio. The Robinwood Studio will be opening this summer next door featuring brunch, local art and Botanicals .
The owners of Robinwood Inn Lance and Tyra Miller reside in Brown County. Lance teaches art at the local high school and Tyra has started several businesses in town including this one. We both love Art, Nature, and Music so we live in the perfect place. Hoping to share our little world and that you will enjoy it as much as we do.
Lance and Tyra Miller purchased this house in 2001
That is the one word to describe a stay at Robinwood Inn! I booked Maybelle’s cabin (the most private) for our 30th wedding anniversary and it couldn't have been better.
Literally every moment spent here was a joy- in fact, we’d planned to go into Nashville one day for the cute shops and artistic history, and hike the last day at the gorgeous state park and we wound up not setting foot off the property- it was just TOO relaxing and wonderful!
Tyra and Lance clearly put much love and care into making a incredible place to unwind. Such a deft mix of modern and vintage, done with a light hand- just enough ‘decoration’ to make it charming without screaming at you from every corner. YOU WILL FIND NO DUCK DECOYS OR CUTE FISHING SIGNS HERE! (a theme that seems to dominate most cabin rentals ;)
-Hot Tub! We’d never done it in winter and clearly hot tubs were made for winter nights! Fantastic, super clean, and hot!
-Animals! We are animal lovers and hanging out with their big handsome pup, Romeo, who visits for treats, and the chickens and miniature horses who live behind Maybelle’s were so fun- we fed the horses apples, and watch them meander about their day. And there were visits from a beautiful herd of deer, tons of birds- cardinals, bluejays, juncos, etc.
-Thoughtful touches! Our cabin had a record player, and tons of records form the 40’s- 80’s. We had a terrific time listening to the songs we listened to when we were first dating... a completely delightful surprise!
-Modern wonders! Satellite radio -Big band music was playing when we walked in, and it seemed so perfect that when we weren't playing records we were listening to this: it seemed to go perfectly with Maybelles, which was built in the 30’s. Sparkling jacuzzi tub, with adorable reading light over it. Big, pure white, quality beds! Well stocked kitchen! Cool vintage pieces! Lovely landscaping- even in winter!
-The Innkeepers- We wanted to meet the people who had worked so hard on this terrific place, and we did, and they are awesome. But we could have gone our entire stay without talking to them, if we had wanted to be that private. They arrange everything so that your involvement is your choice- another thoughtful touch!
Clearly, I can not say enough good things about Robinwood Inn. We have already decided to make this an annual trip if we can for our anniversary, and to return in milder weather. Brown County is beautiful and has lots to enjoy... maybe next time w
We spent 2 nights in Treetop Loft and loved it so much we added a night to our stay. Lance and Tyra are amazingly nice, the grounds beautiful and peaceful and the cabin had everything we could need. Weekend breakfast was very good and downtown Nashville is just a very short drive away. It will be our new go-to in Brown County.
What a wonderful cottage! This is our second trip to Robinwood Studio. It gets even better with time. We just spent our 10 year wedding anniversary here. Since our last visit it has become a bed and breakfast of sorts on the weekend. The breakfast we had Saturday morning was exquisite. My husband had ham and cheese quiche and biscuit and gravy with roasted new potatoes. I had a phenomenal belgian wallfle with strawberries and whipped cream. The proprietors Tyra and Lance are outstanding hosts and we are grateful they allowed us to spend time in their beautiful piece of paradise. The grounds are amazing and it's less than a mile to downtown Nashville with quaint shops and local restaurants. The hot tub on the deck is a great place to unwind at the end of the day and to watch the many different birds and wildlife from the back deck was great. Please keep up the great job you do it is such a relaxing stay. We so hated to go back to reality.
We had a great time at Maybelle's! The cozy cottage was decorated so nicely for Christmas, complete with a Christmas tree inside as well as one outside! The owners, Tyra and Lance (and Boo, the dog) make you feel right at home. We would highly recommend this property, which is conveniently located close to town for a visit to friendly Nashville, Indiana.
OMG what a cute place to visit. I was so impressed by this lovley cottage. What you see in the pictures are exactly what you get. What you cannot see is how friendly the owners are. This is a must!! So close to the shopping in Nashville.
Ready for some World Class Mountain Biking? We are less than a half mile away from some of the best trails in the Midwest. Ask us about Mountain Bike Rentals and equipment rentals.
We offer 'in cottage' massage by our Certified Massage Therapists. You really can't improve on a massage in the privacy of your own cabin, complete with hot tubs, without the drive home afterwards.
