About the property

Ski in and out Condo, 2 Bdrms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6) Petfriendly

Beautiful condominium with unforgettable valley views on Crested Butte mountain. One queen bed, 2 singles, and one queen pull-out couch in the living room. Take advantage of our beautiful remodel! Our building has been redone inside and out! It will be beautiful to see this summer!

In winter, completely ski-in/ski-out. The ski school is right next

door, as are two lifts, Peachtree and the quad lift. You could literally ski into the condo at the end of the day if you could ski on wood. In the morning, you ski down to the quad lift, which is free, and then ski down to buy your lift ticket- you don't have to plan your day ahead. The sweet ski school for children is about 100 feet from the bottom of the quad lift - but you can also ski strait to it from the top of the quad lift.

Besides being so ski-in/ski out, the best things about this condo in winter are: free shuttle service, anywhere in CB, from 8 a.m. till 8 p.m.; huge real fireplace with lots of wood; sauna, jacuzzi; discount ski tickets and ski rentals; the view and privacy.

In summer, mountain bike trails in back, easy walk to

gondola for fun ride up mountain. There are tough mountain-biking trails right out back, and also a real real easy one that takes you into town, where you can sling your bike on the back of the town bus for free and ride back up. The fishing is great, and river rafting/canoeing is a must. Try Crested Butte in summer!

The run down to the condo at the end of the day from the top of the mountain is the prettiest on the hill, with almost 360 degree views of the whole valley. The views are spectacular of all Crested Butte valley.

In Fall, especially September 15-October 15 the leaves on the Aspens and Cottonwoods are a riot of color. Fishing, golfing, biking, and hiking beckon everywhere.

Please check my calendar. If this one is not available, I have others in the same building that are! Barbecue is right next to this unit.

Ski in Ski out is questionable

  • 1 of 5

We booked this condo sort of late and I was wondering why a ski in and ski out was still available. After getting to the condo, seeing the furnishings, location and the owner/mgmt team's definition of ski in and ski out, I understood why.

First, the details fail to mention that you have to walk about a block or so to get to the slopes. When we arrived, CB had received two feet of snow within the past couple of days. So getting from the end of the block to the slope required hiking on a man made path through the deep snow another block or so on top of that. About mid way through the trip, CB had plowed a road to the end of the block at the dumpster on our street to allow for an easier path to ski.

Second, I don't recall seeing the details of the ad describe the THREE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS that you have to take up and down each day to get to the condo. The only benefit of being on this 3rd level is you are on the same floor as the hot tub.

Third, the condo is extremely outdated in the furnishings. The only thing that was updated in this condo was the flooring. The country blue colors, ducks/geese, lamps and other decor' went out in the 80's. Oh and let's not forget the coffee and end tables. We did not want to see or use these "original" tables with built in ash trays.

Fourth is the fire place. Be warned that if you don't build a fire and the 2 tenants above you do, there is going to be a smoke problem. The first late night we had occupants above us (we could hear them), they immediately made a fire and guess what? Our condo immediately filled with smoke. Not good. So we called maintenance the next day and he confirmed that if someone else above starts a fire, you have to as well.

Fifth is the exterior lighting. Did I mention the stairs? Oh yeah the 3 flights of stairs are INSIDE the condos. But you have to take an ADDITIONAL TWO FLIGHTS OF STAIRS just to get INSIDE the condo. And guess what? There's no exterior light to shine on the icy, slippery stairs to help guide you.

Sixth is the mattresses. Again we booked this condo late and ski inand ski out was a priority so we had no choice on the queen size bed. Why do a lot of condo owners go cheap on this amenity? After skiing all day, the last thing you want to do is sleep on a crappy mattress. Take some of the profit you make off the rental income and buy a decent mattress.

Worked for our needs

  • 3 of 5

The property is clearly dated, and stocked with the bare essentials, but worked for our ski needs. The town shuttle system leaves this place in limbo, so a lot of extra walking, stairs are required here.

Great Ski In/Ski Out Condo!

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed the ski in/ski out convenience of this roomy condo. It is located on the first floor, which allowed quick access to the outside for our dog. Really enjoyed having the bedrooms separated by the kitchen/family room area. The building's hot tub and washer/dryer room are located just down the hall from this condo. Being on the end, meant that no one was walking by your door to access anywhere else in the building! Great place to stay!

Nice enough, but no hot tub in the summer

  • 4 of 5

It is a great place to bring your dog, since you open the door and have trails outside. The view is gorgeous. The space is clean, and has everything you need so I can't complain. My only real complaint is that the place is advertised with a hot tub, which was why I chose it over another place... only to arrive and find out that the hot tub is only open in the winter.

Really fun with Pets!

  • 5 of 5

This is a really fun condo to go to with your dog. The trail is just outside your door to the slopes. It is heaven for dog lovers. Nicely appointed.
