What a wonderful home! The house was large, comfortable, and clean. The descriptions from owners are accurate. Jim and Cindy communicate well and will try to answer all your questions. Our stay consited of 2 families for a total of 8 people and a dog. There was so much room for everyone, nobody felt crowded. Most of the time, the kids never wanted to leave the house, as they enjoyed the kayaks and fishing, and paddle boat. Our dog was never so relaxed before (like he belonged there or something, lol) He enjoyed walking the property without a leash and even getting his paws wet in the lake also. We spent a couple days doing day trips, but all in all, wouldnt have minded staying at the house! The drive from the home to the main road is a couple miles, and then a couple more miles to town, so you are truly "away from it all!" The town is quaint and felt like I was stepping back in time. But everyone I came across was friendly! The porches were wonderful to sit out and have breakfast. The campfire was nice, but watch the bugs! And the lake, just so peaceful! Breath taking views and we even saw an eagle fly above us! There is just so much to say, and it's all great! The only bad part, was that it ended! Hope to visit again!
Our family loved this home!It was roomy, clean and everything we needed to extra towels for the week. We enjoyed the kayaks on the lake with sunset fishing, and large Bon fires in the eve to just hang out. My dog was in paradise to walk the long driveway without a leash. The owners were very helpful with anything that we needed and they were very kind. We enjoyed hiking and rafting about 30 minute drive away. There was also close by local store for any needed groceries. It was the perfect restful vacation for the family.
We had a wonderful time. My wife and I took our two dogs for a vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We were looking for a week of peace and tranquility and that is exactly what the house provided.
We just returned from our hunting trip where we stayed at this beautiful and comfortable home. Our party of six came in from all over the country (i.e. TX, CO, MD, VA and NH). Although we have hunted and fished all over the country, we have never enjoyed such plush accommodations. This enormous home easily accommodated our party, all of our hunting gear and the bed rooms and living areas were superb!! We were truly impressed with all of the modern amenities and the “state of the art” heating system installed under the beautiful slate flooring. After a long day of hunting, it was so nice to come back to a hot shower (great water pressure) and use those wonderful plush towels Jim and Cindy provided for our convenience. As “Diehard Hunters,” we normally hunt until dusk every day. However, as the week went on, we found ourselves making excuses to leave the woods earlier and earlier to enjoy the awesome deck, have a cold beer (share our hunting stories/lies) and watch the sunset. For you hunters and hikers out there, I can tell you there is an abundance of wild life around this lake house. During our weekly excursions we saw 5 Moose! more than 80 partridge/grouse, a coyote, a fox, rabbits, deer (you name it, we saw it, close up and personal) Thank you Jim and Cindy for your wonderful hospitality. It was a pleasure doing business with you. We will definitely be booking again next year during Wabbit season!
The style and construction of this beautiful home sends the WOW factor off the chart. We felt as if we found the end of civilization as we drove the long driveway out to the end of a beautiful peninsula. We hung out on the dock for hours and saw no one or heard no one. My son and nephews would go down to the dock after dinner and take the kayak's out on the lake to fish and wouldnt return till after midnight, they had a blast. The upper porch was a favorite place in the am for coffee and the fire pit in the evening. We loved the over sized windows, when I would awake in the morning I would just stare out in to the forrest and felt as if I were camping. Loons would sing you to sleep in the evening and one night I swore I heard a coyote howl off in the distance, what a cool sound. We didnt see any moose but looked for them at Baxter State Park, came back to the house only to find moose tracks in the driveway...should have hung around that day. Cindy and Jim were very accommodating, I dont know them personally but felt as if they were good friends every time we spoke on the phone. We plan multiple return trips to this home, one of our better vacations.
The Joyce's from South Jersey
This is a beautiful, comfortable home in a quiet location. Very clean and well equipped. Try Raymond's in Lee for fresh seafood on weekends. Good location for day trips to Baxter State Park and Eastport. The fishing was great, the expanded dock was perfect for sitting and reading on a quiet afternoon. We brought our canoe so we explored the coves and islands. In addition to the loons, we enjoyed beavers and an eagle visiting. The house is large enough that everyone had enough space and the porches were a great place to enjoy early morning coffee or play cards on a rainy afternoon. The early morning is important because, and this is why the home does not get 5 stars, none of the bedroom windows have any curtains or blinds and have very large windows so we were literally up at the crack of dawn. This was great for the family fishermen but not so much for the others.
