The house is a very cozy A frame design with wood floors, ceilings and walls throughout. It is a five minute walk to the slopes and has plenty of room for large groups looking to get away for a relaxing ski vacation.
When entering the house there is a tiled ski room to take off, put on and store ski equipment. Sharing that floor are two bedrooms with a full Jack and Jill bathroom. One bedroom has three twin beds, the other has two twin beds which would be perfect for families with children. Upstairs on the main floor is an open concept eating and living area. There is a long island with seating for three and a dining room table with seating for ten. The living room has a television and three comfortable futons which can convert into double beds. This floor also has a a full bathroom and two additional bedrooms. Each bedroom has a full sized bed. From this floor you have access to a deck large enough for lounging, grilling or enjoying the views of the slopes. The upstairs floor has one large bedroom with one full sized bed and one twin sized bed. It also has one small bedroom with one additional twin bed. This floor has a third full bathroom that has just reccently been renovated.
I grew up in the in the French Riviera close to the Alpes where I skied every winter.
I've skied at Hunter Mountaun for many years and find it to be quite challenging.
pierre chaubard purchased this chalet in 1998
I wanted to own a ski house close to the slopes so I could ski whenever I wanted to.
It's walking distance to both the slopes and town.
All of us had a great time staying at this lodge, very close to hunter mtn!
The beds were comfortable, very clean linens, duvet & duvet covers and towels were provided. The kitchen had enough mugs, plates, etc. Be sure to bring your own cooking oil, there wasn't one there but hey, we expected it. Overall, love how clean and comfortable it is to stay there and 3 bathrooms are perfect for big group, zero congestion during rush hours! Will not hesitate to stay again. Pierre, the owner, was reachable and deposit was promptly returned.
We rented this property for Taste of Country weekend. The location was perfect...approximately 10 min walk to the lodge.
Overall, the house was clean and worked for our large group. We encountered a few minor snags when we checked in, but Pierre, was more than happy to correct it immediately....nothing that would deter us from renting again.
Our group thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The house was lovely, spacious, and conveniently located. The number of beds was a tremendous plus for us. Pierre was incredibly easy to work with. He was very helpful and always available. We look forward to coming back next year.
The house was great. The owner was very nice. We had a good time. Would recommend to anyone that plans to stay at hunter!
The house was very comfortable and fully stocked with everything you could need. The house is a 10 min walk to the main lodge which made it ideal for skiing. Pierre was easy to contact and made our check in/out very easy and hassle free. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a great time at the house. Big enough for our large group. Location was perfect - walking (staggering/stumbling) distance from Oktoberfest & the zip-lines on the mountain. Owner was very friendly & responsive throughout the whole process. Few things that might not be clear from the description: 1) There is wifi. 2) TV has been upgraded from the 1986 tube in the picture to a 32" flat screen. 3) Shower on the main floor is strange. 4) The big bedroom on the top floor is easily the best one in the house. Call dibs on it if you can!
