My husband and I and our 5 daughters (yes 5!) love the outdoors and spending quality family time at the beach. We are very active and love water sports and other outdoor activities. Our family loves to travel and we have really enjoyed discovering venues such as HomeAway to discover new and exciting places to visit.

La Barra de Santiago has been a special place for our family for many years! Two generations of our family have enjoyed spending unforgettable holidays on La Barra's paradisiacal beaches - it is a joy for us to watch our children grown up here and enjoy the amazing beauty of nature at its finest!
Kayaking through the impressive mangroves inhabited by native wildlife, boating to the serene estuary for a relaxing swim, and visiting local marine turtle sanctuaries are just of the unforgettable experiences you will enjoy in Barra de Santiago!
Our property is located approximately one and a half hours from the international airport in Comalapa. La Barra de Santiago is a small ocean-front town that has several small convenience stores and rustic local eateries that specialise in seafood and local dishes.
El Salvador has the advantage of being a small country where everything is close by- just a 1/2 hour drive from La Barra is the Port of Acajutla where you can enjoy delicious seafood restaurants and beautiful ocean views. 1 hour away you will find the famous "Ruta de las Flores" where you can enjoy traveling through coffee farms, viewing colonial style houses, eating at local restaurants and shopping for typical arts and crafts. Just about 1 hour away from the beach, there is also the amazing "Parque Los Volcanes" where you can visit the awesome area of three major volcanoes - Cerro Verde, Izalco and Santa Ana- all of these are available for guided tours and hikes.
