The best feature is location. Access to subway, restaurants, grocery store, and Central Park made touring very easy. The picture was a bit deceiving in that the studio looked newer than it is. A little TLC is in order. No need for an alarm clock since the bed is right by the window where the trash cans are located. The air conditioner was next to the bed as well and was very loud especially when sleeping.
The tub caulking needs replaced due to mold and the shower curtain was moldy as well. Kitchen was perfect for breakfast items. Would have been nice to have face cloths. The closet had owners’ personal items in it which did not leave much room for hanging clothes. Overall the location is the highlight of the studio apartment.
Could have been cleaner.
Shower was great including water pressure and hand held shower faucet feature.
The studio is passable but should be noted that is in a basement so you never see the daylight. The place is clean and quiet, a half a block from Central Park. If you don´t like my review it´s fine with me. Anyway, the manager already knows what I think about her numbers.
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Property was as posted.
The room was exactly as it is posted. It was clean and the host was accommodating and polite. The location is great. Near Central Park, lots of restaurants and deli’s around with good food and good prices. I spoke to some locals who explained it was a good/ safe neighborhood. Overall our stay was good and it was a fair price for the apt. During our trip the toilet broke and Shamai was quick at fixing the problem.
One down side was it was a bit confusing at first who to contact with questions as the account is under one name, the VRBO contact is “Roxanne” and the third contact is “Shamai.” I had been contacting Roxanne and eventually my questions of arrival went unanswered and I eventually had to contact Shamai. They were all polite but it was a bit confusing.
The only down side of the apt was the lack of air flow. There was a small fan/heater. We were only able to open one window in the back as there was a pile of garbage/recycling outside the front window the majority of our trip. So the apt was stuffy at times.
Overall it was a good stay, just some small room for improvement.
Great location on west side of park, close to subway and restaurants. Bed comfy, shower great!
Perhaps a little pricey for the small space once you add extra cleaning charge
Great location. Apt clean and quiet. Missed daylight but knew this before. Eating a meal in apt not.
Apt was basic in great location. Easy walking to shops and restaurants and subway. And all arrangements worked as promised. But:Could not get TV to operate properly. Main issue:entrance is marred by piles of bagged garbage next to door. And grimy looking entrance hall. These aremain reasons we would not recommend to others.
THE LOCATION: The Upper West Side serves as a great home base for visitors looking for an authentic New York City experience. Primarily a residential neighborhood, it provides an escape from the chaos of Midtown and other heavily touristed areas. The area is famous for lovely tree-lined streets and brownstone buildings and townhouses, many of which are landmarks. Elegant pre-war buildings line Broadway, Central Park West, Riverside Drive, and West End Avenue. It is a great neighborhood for shopping, especially at gourmet stores, like Zabar's and Fairway and is a train hop away from the shops at Columbus Circle.
