Nice location near the water. Spacious and comfortable for 6 adults. Pleasant deck. The cleaning fee is steep and I expected better than a dirty oven that sets off a smoke detector, Cheerios scattered across the living room, and someone else's laundry in the dryer.
We had a wonderful sister weekend! The house was perfect, spacious enough for 7 adults to hang out and enjoy each other's company. Close to town, you can walk to a few restaurants. My only sort of complaint is that we had to purchase Toilet paper and paper towels, it's a little inconvenient to have to run out for toilet paper. I will rent again, though and bring plenty of paper products!
My fiance and I, along with 3 other couples rented the Schooner House from 7/1/16 to 7/5/16 and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! The house comfortably fits 8, with a very spacious dining room, large living room and a huge backyard area. The way the house is positioned and setup, it feels very secluded, even though it is near other homes and businesses. There is a large back deck with a grill, perfect for having a BBQ, a huge backyard that is great for lawn games, laying out in the sun, etc., and a nice fire pit perfect for late night bonfires. There are 2 very good restaurants within walking distance, a nice grocery store (Tom's) 0.5 miles down the road (very convenient) and Downtown TC, the Cherry Festival, and the main beach areas are just about a 5-8 minute car/cab ride from the house.
Overall, this rental property had everything we wanted and more and I would strongly recommend it for a couples' weekend or for a large family.
Lastly, as an FYI, the home owners own a local business and periodically come to the property to take/leave things in the barn located at the back of the property. They were very cordial and we honestly barely even noticed when they would stop by. This should't be a concern whatsoever.
The house is is very cute and charming! The pictures do not do it justice.
All of the bedrooms were very comfortable and offered ample space for everyone. The living and dining rooms were large and easily accommodated our group of seven. The bathrooms were clean. I wasn't sure if there were extra towels or not, but I am sure that is something that could easily be asked for. The house is located very close to downtown Traverse City. You could definitely walk there is the summer, or cab would be very cheap as well. I went for a run from the home and there is a nice little trail right down the street to jump onto. One of the days I ran towards down and ran through the adorable neighborhoods in the area. My family and I went wine tasting on towards Sutton's Bay and on Mission Peninsula. The location was very close to both places.
There was plenty of space for everyone. All the bedrooms were very nicely set up and the air mattress was very comfortable. The dining area and living area were large and good for a group of 9. Location was great, close to the water and not too far from town. Good spot to get picked up for wine tours. Overall the place was perfect for us!
We had a wonderful girls' weekend at Schooner House. The home was cute and comfortable. More than enough room for seven women staying there. It was clean and had everything we needed. If I had any quibbles it would be that the wifi was spotty at times - we had to unplug and restart it a couple of times - and the bath towels were tiny. The house is very close to downtown Traverse City and you can walk to the Bay. We did have to drive to get downtown, but it was 3-5 min drive...very easy!
