Luxurious 2 bed - 2.5 bath, ski in - out, slope side, rental town house / ski lodge

Full home comforts in a relaxed and spacious ski home set in the Rocky Mountains, just one hour drive from both Bozeman and West Yellowstone, Montana

This is one of two prime located Saddle Ridge units, just one door apart from each other (rent both if you are a large group or come with another family) collectively known as Casa Moonlight, Big Sky, Montana, Ski Resort

Casa Moonlight Two is on Saddle Ridge at 8,000 feet above sea level between two of the most spectacular ski resorts in the West: Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin.

No other alpine ski area in the U.S. offers what the interconnected slopes of Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin do - extraordinary SKI - IN, SKI - OUT opportunities, among the highest vertical drops for groomed skiing in the U.S. (including hike-to terrain), world-class recreation year-round, and superb amenities and services.

Ski right out the back door and onto the Pony Express Run or direct to the Iron Horse Lift and you have access to over 5,250 lift-served acres of world-class alpine skiing.

Located on the warm southern facing elevated ridge that lies between the Moonlight and the Big Sky ski area, with panoramic views on all sides, Casa Moonlight is directly above the Iron Horse and Pony Express lifts which access both the Moonlight and the Big Ski base area and the mountains beyond. You can ski back to Casa Moonlight from both Big Sky and Moonlight basin ski areas.

Skiing and boarding are the main winter activities. There is ample lift serviced terrain in the 2 resorts, but if you feel the need to venture further, various back country options are available.

Summer activities in Big Sky fall into two main categories. Those organised by the resort, including Lone Peak Expeditions, Adventure Zip-line Tours, Climbing Walls etc and those to be found in the greater South West Montana area including Fishing and Rafting on the Gallatin, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Golf and of course all that Yellowstone Park ( nearest boundary - half an hour away) and West Yellowstone (just over an hour away) have to offer.

Casa Moonlight Two is a recently renovated log fronted three storey town house with a floor area of approximately 1,800 square feet in the Saddle Ridge development of the Moonlight Basin, Big Sky, commanding panoramic and unobstructed views of Lone Peak and the Big Sky and Moonlight Basin Ski Area

The new owners, who divide their time between Chile, Thailand and Montana, live in a nearby home and will personally manage your stay at Casa Moonlight throughout the ski season.

Ski Right Out the Back Door!

Casa Moonlight is approximately 1,800 square feet, has 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and sleeps up to 7 adults. This Montana ski-in ski-out vacation condo is a luxury accommodation in every respect:

There are slate floors in the entry, bathrooms and kitchen. The vacation rental custom furniture is made out of Ponderosa Pine. This Montana condo is filled with unique western art, but the unforgettable views from all the rooms, make this vacation home a place to remember.

About William Casa Moonlight

My wife (Thai) and I (British) are semi retired and now divide our time between homes in Phuket, Thailand (our previous home/business base) and now, chasing the snow, in Big Sky Montana and Farellones, Chile.

William Casa Moonlight purchased this townhome in 2011

Why William Casa Moonlight chose Big Sky

Quite simply Big Sky is the best, largest and least crowded lift serviced skiing in north America. We had been visiting (and renting - mainly in Saddle Ridge) for extended stays for 5 years - and then in late 2009 found prices had become affordable, so purchased our first home in Big Sky. Then in 2011 with a little spare cash to invest decided Big Sky was still a great location for another property investment.

What makes this townhome unique

The space and the peace and quiet. Yet all this with true ski in ski-out access to both Big Sky and Moonlight - and just one minutes walk from the best restaurant (Timbers) and ski-club house (Moonlight Lodge) in the Big Sky area.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear William,

Thanks again for your hospitality. The condo is great and we really enjoyed being your guests this week. I will be happy to recommend you to my friends and colleagues.

We expect to vacate the property by 10 am tomorrow, Sunday. I'll leave the key in the lock box.

Perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

We were a family of three, adult son, and came for a stay of 8 nights. To have the slopes so close was wonderful, the snow plowing service every morning after heavy snowfalls as well. The house left enough space for individual living and the internet could serve three different streams at the same time, great.

The views are awesome, morning and evening and the stars at night. The lift tickets were easy to get at the lodge, just a couple of steps up the road.

We arrived late at night, though it was a little tough to find the house, but we managed. The area is really large, try to get familiar in the house with the map, there are maps at many lift stations, but we felt more comfortable in doing it ahead. It can get REALLY cold, so dress appropriately.

Over all a perfect ski vacation.

Owner's Response: Claudia, I am so glad that you enjoyed Big Sky. January is indeed the coldest month of the year here, and you just happened to catch one of the cold snaps. But as you say, dress well and then you can enjoy the great powder conditions that the cold weather delivers.

1st time to Big Sky

  • 5 of 5

Loved the property location and views from both the bedroom and deck. Plenty of space for our family of 4. Everything that one would need is provided for. As Big Sky is really dry in the winter, it was a little tough sleeping ... a humidifier for the bedrooms would be a welcome addition. Other than that, we would definitely consider staying here again ... no regrets.

Owner's Response: Hi David. So glad to hear that the trip was a success. Sorry that the dry air bothered you. You should however have been able to find a humidifier in one of the storage closets. I am going to double check... and try to make it's availability for those that feel the need more obvious to future guests.

Beautiful home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed the great views, hot tub, proximity to lots of trails and activities in Big Sky and Yellowstone. It was a great summer get away for our family of 5. The home was clean and well maintained. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing place to come back to at the end of the day.

Terrific Family Trip to Moonlight

  • 5 of 5

This was our third trip to Moonlight Basin and second stay in Casa Moonlight Two. Our school-age kids could ski in and out on their own and we all were more than comfortable in the townhouse. William and his property managers made sure that everything was in order and they were quickly responsive as always. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent VRBO!

  • 5 of 5

Casa Moonlight 2 was very well appointed and very well maintained. It was very spacious for our two girls, my husband, and I. Our fourth grade girls loved staying in the loft with the windows overlooking the living room. I appreciated the hot tub and the view over the mountains and of the slopes with the great sunrises. The full kitchen, fast wi-fi, in-condo washer and dryer, and proximity to Iron Horse lift were also very appreciated. We liked being on the Moonlight side and skied much more on this side than we had before, when we stayed on the Big Sky side. Big Sky continues to be our favorite ski resort with no lift lines!
