Overview

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 12-14)

Looking for the perfect getaway? Look no further as this South Lake Tahoe home is only 1.6 miles from Heavenly Valley Ski Resort. Renovated in 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2010, this 2700+ sq ft home is 5 bedrooms 3 full baths of contemporary modern living.

Added for 2016 is an electrical upgrade for our Tesla owners to charge at night in the comforts of the garage. Yes, we've heard the suggestions and we've added this feature to our home to encourage our reduction to the carbon footprint of the house. Situated for either side of the garage, bring your Model S or X to Tahoe and enjoy the electricity to get you back to your home by charging the night before. Don't fuss with the gas and charge at our home while you sleep comfortably in this luxury getaway.

In addition to our electrical upgrade, we've also added full luxury to the upstairs bathroom turning the upstairs bathrooms into a miniature spa. All Travertine floors on either side of the bathroom are heated with that heated feature continuing into the master shower so your feet never feel cold again. You'll find yourself slipping away into relaxation as the 3 valve system can shower your every desire. Indulge yourself in head to toe water with the six body sprays, 12" rain head, and hand held wand. Yes, we spared no expense to give you a shower that rivals a private spa. Luxury does not stop with the master shower as this non-traditional Jack and Jill bathroom gives the other side additional luxury with a Jacuzzi tub/shower combination with two body sprays and a rain head as well. And if that was not enough, you can find the intelligent toilet in the middle with heated seats, night light, automatic flushing technology, as well as both bidet, spray and drying functions to keep your backside fresh and clean.

Also, be sure to take advantage of our downstairs renovated bathrooms allowing luxury during the winter and relaxation throughout the year. With the addition of radiant floor heating in the bathrooms, glass enclosed showers or tubs, these designer bathrooms will melt those pains away from your activities with body sprays, rain showers, or hand held wands to reach those hard to hit areas of your body. The cool Travertine floors make these small spa retreats available to you after a long day of skiing or a hot summer day. If those muscles are tired, relax in the downstairs Jacuzzi tub with recirculating heat feature if the outdoor Jacuzzi tub is full.

This home can easily accommodate 2 families and has an open floor plan to dine in or entertain. If dining Al Fresco is your pleasure, added in 2014 are outdoor gazebos with seating for 12 with complete outdoor stereo system and available for use is a propane gas grill for those grilling needs all year round. You may dine during the day or enjoy the Sierra air at night with multi colored LED lighting options for each gazebo and complete protection from any elements outside. Complete your outdoor/dining experience with music outside with our integrated Sonos Hi-Fi stereo system. If you'd rather dine in, our stainless steel range and fully stocked kitchen will allow you to prepare a feast for your guests and family.

For 2015 we added extensive lighting around the property so that you may enjoy your own personal backyard while dining or relaxing at home. Enjoy nature with a personal 10,000 sq ft backyard with plenty of snow to build your own snowman and family in the winter or hear the soothing sounds of a babbling brook into a pond in the summer. If joining us in the summer, you will have your own personal slice of the Sierra complete with the night sky and up lights casting the great heights of our trees and lighting throughout the yard. Situated on the deck for your convenience is a 6 person jetted hot tub to relax after those long days on the slopes with a commercial BTU patio heater to ensure the transition from spa to house is not met with the elements. When not playing in the backyard or skiing at the numerous resorts nearby, you can stay connected to the outside with free wi-fi internet with blazing speeds of connectivity. If Blu-Ray is your preferred movie watching experience, then sit back and relax on the 10 person couch with the 47' LCD or get your game on with the Wii console for family entertainment or a Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 with Kinect for those non-stop gaming adventures online or against each other. For those kids who want to watch something else, 2 other 46' LCD TV's are available if there is a disagreement for tv watching with an Apple TV on one and the other having LG’s Netcast to stream internet streaming services like Netflix and Hulu Plus.

If you are looking to relax with music in the house, our Sonos hi-fi wireless digital music system can provide music in separate rooms or group together for one large music party. Movies, games, and regular tv watching are all in high definition with the critically acclaimed Sonos Playbar with earth shattering bass from the Sonos Sub. Stream services such as Spotify or Pandora or create your own internet radio station to play your favorite kind of music. Enjoy crisp highs and rumbling lows as each section of the house has an ability to soothe your music desires.

It may not be a hotel, but hotel linens and towels are there for use. Every bed has contemporary Hotel collection bedding and 400-600 thread count sheets to melt away into a deep sleep. 2 families can easily sleep on the 3 Queen beds, 1 California King bed, and 4 Twin beds. Catch up with restful sleep as the black-out shades turn rooms from day to night anytime of the day.

This home is conveniently located near Safeway and the Heavenly Village shops makes life easy for shopping. The casinos for your night time adventures await 5 minutes down the road. Kirkwood and Sierra at Tahoe are only 20 minutes away by car so skiing options are plentiful and Heavenly is practically in the backyard.

About The Owner

We are a family of five who enjoys South Lake Tahoe so much that we travel 3000 miles just to get there. We reside in Hawai'i full time but have strong ties to South Lake Tahoe and a love of the area. We recently purchased a lovely home and wouldn't mind sharing it with those who are respectful and family oriented like ourselves. We would feel comfortable with those who share our philosophy of family memories and a wonderful place to spend time together.

The Owner purchased this house in 2010

Why The Owner chose South Lake Tahoe

We love this area because it is very near Heavenly and the casinos as well as near by to shopping and commerical areas. Safeway is our favorite grocery store and we love the casino nightlife and skiing nearby. This house was by a stroke of luck and we feel that we should preserve its luck and condition as best as we can moving forward.

What makes this house unique

Skiing is close by and casino night life is always attractive. Being close to Safeway makes family meals easy and you never worry about going hungry or being so isolated that civilization isn't nearby but away from it all where the nights are peaceful and quiet.

Great for multiple families!

  • 5 of 5

This house has everything you can think of ...coffee, water filter pitcher, even step stools for the little kids. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need to prepare a great meal and the bedrooms all spacious. There are nice big screen TVs, many comfy sitting areas, and a really lovely landscaped backyard to sip wine/BBQ with plenty of seating under a gazebo. Either the A/C was not working well or we weren't good at figuring out the controls but it was warm this weekend and inside upstairs it was a little hot at night so we had to leave the windows open...which can be great except for the noisy vacationers next door. We would stay here again!

Owner's Response: Elaine's family was the perfect family to stay at our home. At the very beginning we spoke on the phone and I felt so comfortable with her that I knew her family would be great. I feel so bad about the air conditioning (we actually only have forced air for heat and not air conditioning) so we will consider the possibility of converting to central air but I'm not sure if our system can be converted. But luckily for Tahoe the nights in the summer are very cool so I hope it cooled down at the night time. I really hope Elaine keeps us on a short list to return to our home for future improvements for the house.

Sensational House!

  • 5 of 5

For over 60 years (we skipped only one year), our generations have been renting weekly cabins in South Lake Tahoe. We had ten people stay a week, and by a far distance, this has been the absolute best experience we've had in staying in a rental!

The cleanliness and conveniences are unsurpassable, the kitchen and bathrooms were updated and fully supplied, the barbecue and gazebo and running pond gave a wonderful outdoor experience, and the owner was so responsive to our numerous inquiries. We loved the "take your shoes off" rule (similar to some of our rules) which added to the weeklong feeling of cleanliness.

Although we did not have the desire to use the spa, it too looked clean and welcoming! And the washer and dryer were top class, also detergent was readily available. Yup.... sensational house..

We cannot thank Michael and his family enough for the wonderful stay, and hope to make this the beginning of a continued tradition!

Owner's Response: Richard's family was so great to have at our home. I always get nervous for guests staying a week because I worry about enough supplies being there or if something could possibly be go wrong. Richard's family was so great with communication and I felt so at ease when they arrived because they always kept in touch with me for their needs that week. I was very happy that his family thought our home was the right fit for them as well as being honored to be held in such high regard. Mahalo!

Owner's Response: Rick's family came for a wedding and he was one of the few guests I have had the physical opportunity to meet as I was preparing the house for his arrival. He and his family were very respectful and I really hope he enjoyed his time at our home. He is always welcomed as a return guest if he chooses. Aloha!

4th of July weekend....felt like home

  • 5 of 5

From the time we pulled into the driveway we were in awe as this gem has warm rustic curb appeal. Then upon entry the rustic charm was still there with modern amenities, very clean, felt very cozy.

This home is not your typical vacation rental, the photos do not do it justice. It's apparent that the owners want their guest to feel like this is their home away home.

This house is very well stocked and extremely comfortable. Great hot tub on the spacious back patio, large table with plenty of seating, gas & charcoal grill (great to have both grilling options), nice TV's, well stocked kitchen, comfy chairs, beds and sofas, etc. .

The owner Micheal went over and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. He is a very pleasant gentleman to work with, and was just a phone call or text away to answer any questions that we had, his replies to our questions were quick and timely.

I have stayed at other rental properties where I had to deal with property managers, and had to wait quite sometime to hear back if we had any questions, having Micheal's direct contact information was truly an added bonus.

I look forward to renting this property again in the winter months, it has a fenced yard (large yard), it will be perfect for my granddaughter to play in the snow.

We will definitely be renting this cabin again!

Thanks again Michael we loved your cabin!!!

Owner's Response: Brenda's family was such a pleasure to host and I really hope they received their irreplaceable clothes left behind at the house. They were very respectful of our home, enjoyed all the amenities that we have worked so hard to have available for guests, and they treated the home as if it were their own. There was constant communication via text and e-mail and phone and I really hope they have us on a short list to return to our home for future family trips. Aloha!

Great Home, Awesome experience, Will stay here again!

  • 5 of 5

After speaking with the owner (Michael) of this house over the phone, it was clear that he and his family take very good care of their home in Tahoe. That was reiterated when we unlocked the front door and took a look around. We couldn't help but point out feature-after-feature that would make our stay better.

This home is in a nice, quiet residential area- close to everything, but just far enough away that you don't feel the roar of South Lake Tahoe. It is a low traffic area, which was nice for going on a jog and for the safety of the kiddos, too.

The homes interior is open and comforting. The kitchen and living areas were perfect for entertaining our large group, including the kids. The bedrooms are all very adequate in size, and there are numerous beds (including a Pack'n'Play) to accommodate everyone. The bathrooms throughout the house have all been updated recently and have heated floors, which sounds nice and feels even better. Our group was in Tahoe for a wedding and the numerous, large bathrooms made it great for getting ready.

The exterior of the home was where we spent a good chunk of our time. The backyard deck has a laid-back vibe, with a hot tub, BBQ, propane heat lamp, and patio furniture. This made a great area for socializing and enjoying the landscaping in the yard while soaking in the tub. The smell of the pines made it feel like you were at a secluded cabin in the woods.

Best Features of this house:

Large, open concept.

Heated bathroom floors, large bathrooms

Wireless Sonos sound system, for playing music in any room or on the deck

Hot tub/Deck and gazebos

Safe, secluded neighborhood, close enough to the towns' amenities

Ample entertainment for everyone- board games, video games, movies, etc.

I can't think of anything we disliked about this home. Our group had a blast and hope to stay here again. Michael was very helpful and easy to get a hold of during our stay.

Booking: I will mention that I was concerned when we went to book this home, as Michael does not use the VRBO website to book. I was able to access the South Lake Tahoe gov't website and verify the vacation rental permit for this property, which put my mind at ease. Michael was patient and very accommodating with any information he could provide. We appreciated this immensely.

Book this home- you won't regret it!

Owner's Response: Tobin's family was the perfect match to our home as he took all the right steps to communicating with myself and what his needs were for his stay at our home. I really appreciated that he wanted to make sure the home was going to meet his needs and the home could make a very memorable and enjoyable trip. His summary and description of our place is very flattering and spot on in my opinion, but I'm biased. I really hope he keeps our home on a short list and returns for a repeat stay. Thank you so much! Mahalo!

This is such a great home that we returned for a THIRD time!

  • 5 of 5

This house is clean and spacious and fits my family perfectly for our annual family trip! Michael is very responsive and get you set up right away! He's very accommodating and flexible with the dates as well.

With this place, there's something new every year. Michael is constantly upgrading the house such as remodeling the bathrooms, putting sonos speakers all around the house, installing an electric car charger, etc. We've tried other places but this place ranks up there for places to return to. Looking forward to staying here again next year!

Owner's Response: It really makes me so happy to have repeat guests at our home. It's like having extended family stay and utilize our home. I am especially pleased that Lai's family notices all the upgrades we've made to the property and see the changes over the years. I really hope they make our home their permanent annual family vacation home.
