Full home comforts in a relaxed and spacious ski home set in the Rocky Mountains, just one hour drive from both Bozeman and West Yellowstone, Montana

Casa Yellowstone is on Saddle Ridge at 8,000 feet above sea level between two of the most spectacular ski resorts in the West: Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin.

No other alpine ski area in the U.S. offers what the interconnected slopes of Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin do - extraordinary SKI - IN, SKI - OUT opportunities, among the highest vertical drops for groomed skiing and off piste in the U.S. (including hike-to terrain), world-class recreation year-round, and superb amenities and services.

Summer activities in Big Sky fall into two main categories. Those organised by the resort, including Lone Peak Expeditions, Adventure Zip-line Tours, Climbing Walls etc and those to be found in the greater South West Montana area including Fishing and Rafting on the Gallatin, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Golf and of course all that Yellowstone Park ( nearest boundary - half an hour away) and West Yellowstone (just over an hour away) have to offer.

Located on the warm southern facing elevated ridge that lies between the Moonlight and the Big Sky ski area, with panoramic views on all sides, Casa Yellowstone is just steps from the trails to the Iron Horse and Pony Express lifts which access both the Moonlight and the Big Ski base area and the mountains beyond. You can ski back to Casa Moonlight Three from both Big Sky and Moonlight basin ski areas.

Casa Yellowstone has a floor area of approximately 2,500 square feet, has 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, and sleeps 7 - 9 adults and was completely renovated and newly furnished in 2011. The principal accommodation includes

King bed and a large day cot in the huge the Master Suite.

About William Casa Moonlight

My wife (Thai) and I (British) are semi retired and now divide our time between homes in Phuket, Thailand (our previous home/business base) and now, chasing the snow, in Big Sky Montana and Farellones, Chile.

William Casa Moonlight purchased this townhome in 2011

Why William Casa Moonlight chose Big Sky

Quite simply Big Sky is the best, largest and least crowded lift serviced skiing in North America. We had been visiting (and renting - mainly in Saddle Ridge) for extended stays for 5 years - and then in late 2009 found prices had become affordable, so purchased our first home in Big Sky. Then in 2011 with a little spare cash to invest decided Big Sky was still a great location for some further property investment.

What makes this townhome unique

The space and the peace and quiet. Yet all this with true ski in ski-out access to both Big Sky and Moonlight - and just a short walk from the best restaurant (Timbers) and ski-club house (Moonlight Lodge) in the Big Sky area.

Casa Yellowstone

What a beautiful place!! The location and the condo were perfect for us. The amenities were first class and very comfortable. Renters may want to know that the condo is on 4 levels which involves lots of stairs. Probably not an issue for athletic skiers, but for older travelers it might be a problem.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback Sheryl. Just to clarify the condo has three floors and an intermediate entry level. The living area is half a level up from the entry and the master bedroom half a level down from the entry ( a feature that many who do not like stairs have appreciated) . The second bedroom is a level above the living area ( one and a half levels above the entry)

Beautiful home away from home not far from Yellowstone!

  • 5 of 5

This home was amazing and more beautiful then the pictures! Our family of 5 stayed here for 4 nights. It is located at one of the most beautiful places in Big Sky and a very reasonable drive to Yellowstone! We liked the fact that Yellowstone was so crowded that we could go home to beauty and quiet. The house was well equipped with extras such as spices for cooking, and plastic wrap for sandwiches! It was clean and well maintained. We had a great time!

Spectacular views

  • 5 of 5

We rented the home as a family vacation with our adult sons. My husband & I also ran a race in Ennis, Montana during the vacation week. Big Sky was definitely the place to stay, even though the race was an hour away. Casa Yellowstone had everything we needed to have a great week. The property was very clean and well maintained. The owner communicated all the necessary information well even when we had some problems with our connecting flights to Bozeman and didn't arrive as early as we expected.

The hike of the Beehive Basin was just a short distance from the home, and my favorite hike of the whole trip. We did many hikes! I would say hiking was the theme of the trip. The views from the home were spectacular for a family on a summer vacation from Pennsylvania. We visited Yellowstone one day too, but honestly our best days were the hiking near the Moonlight Basin and just enjoying the view from the house.

Owner's Response: Amanda, thanks for pointing out that while Yellowstone Park may be the big draw in the summer months, the areas outside the park (including Big Sky and Moonlight and all the rest of the Gallatin Forest) are really just as impressive as those inside the park and come with the bonus of being less visited.

Great location and accomodations

  • 5 of 5

We visited with 4 children and 3 adults. The pictures are very accurate to what the condo looks like. The view is phenomenal! The locations is perfectly set, with easy navigation between Bozeman and Yellowstone. The condo included some great surprises, like a cooler we could use when we went on our adventures. It really felt like a home away from home, with enough space to give everyone some personal time. There are also trails around the condo that are easy to hike and provide great views of nature. The grocery store at the bottom of the hill is great too (Roxy's).

Owner's Response: Sarah, I am so glad tom hear that you enjoyed your stay. The new Roxy supermarket in the Big Sky Meadow is indeed a great addition to Big Sky's many recreational and retail offerings.

Perfect Accomodation for our ski holiday

  • 5 of 5

Casa Yellowstone is in a great location near Moonlight Lodge with ski in ski out access even at the end of the season. There was plenty of space for our family of 5 and we particularly enjoyed sitting in the spa at the end of the day with the wonderful view.

The kitchen was well set up and the beds were very comfortable.

All in all, one of the best vacation homes we have stayed in.

Terrific location with an outstanding view

  • 5 of 5

The property was perfect for a family of 5 who desired to stay-in, cook, and have family meals after a terrific day of skiing. The owner was extremely responsive and attentive to ensure our stay was pleasant. We had one minor issue with the unit (no fault of the owner) and he was quick to make the situation right. We would go back without question and will recommend the property to friends and family.
