About Michael Wasser
We built this house in 2007 for my kids, Sam and Ashley. Now that they are older we don't get to go up as much. We love this house and it is still in excellent condition.
Michael Wasser purchased this House in 2007
Why Michael Wasser chose West Dover
We saw this piece of land on a very secluded road and decided to build. Less than 5 miles from the mountain that I grew up on was the perfect location for us.
What makes this House unique
The wood burning stove will heat the whole house. The house sleeps 14+ people which is great when the family comes to visit.

We really enjoyed our stay! Very great communication with michael and many more towels / toiletries than we expected ! The wood burning stove was amazing, so easy to use ! We will definitely come back !
Beautiful house, great location
Although the house itself was beautiful, the amenities were quite lacking. We were a family of 8 with only 4 thin towels left for us at the house. We ended up having to go into town and buy towels. The dining room table had a leg that kept falling off and was unusable the entire trip. The 4th bedroom required a walk through an unfinished basement and that bedroom was unfinished itself. I specifically asked the owner if that bedroom was suitable for 10-year-olds and clearly it wasn't. It was used as a playroom during the day and the kids bunked with parents at night-they were scared to stay down in an unfinished basement with construction items and open sockets visible.Kitchen utensils, mugs, wine glasses were also lacking. Another trip into town for plastic forks and plates. Overall, beautiful house but the amenities certainly don't warrant the high price point.
We do appreciate as well as take all reviews very seriously. We at the Maple lodge are happy to inform that we have upgraded all towels with 28 new towel sets as well as new sheets for all beds including pullout sofa and futon.
Our beautiful antique dining table has been expertly repaired without compromising the integrity of the 100 year plus table.
Lastly our most aggressive upgrade is on the lower level of the house which is completely finished with new paint, new high end carpet with top of the line padding and a gaming table. We are committed to our guests to have a wonderful, comfortable and memorable stay
We went there for the tough mudder and enjoyed our stay. It is a very warm and comfortable home to stay in for our getaway.
There were some kitchen ware for making breakfast or sandwiches for lunch. You will need to bring your own toiletries i.e. Shampoo and body wash. Sheets and towels were provided.
Michael, the owner, was very responsive through the homeaway webpage.
We would definitely go back to stay there.
Fabulous ski weekend getaway location
We wanted a cozy home in the woods while visiting VT for a ski trip and this home was perfect. The bedrooms were perfectly set-up for our group of seven. There was quite a bit of snow on the road and driveway to the house - our 4x4 SUV was the only vehicle able to get up the steep driveway - so be sure to plan accordingly. But watching the snow fall on the mountain and being so close to the slopes made the weekend getaway wonderful.
