I grew up in St. Thomas Trinidad I moved to Canada in my early 20's. I worked as a welder for many years and enjoyed travelling all over Canada and the United States. I would like to give the same experience to you. The land has been in my family for years. This was my mothers land. In 2005 we started to build a place that people could come and have fun but at the same time feel safe
Pat or Shirley Richardson purchased this condo in 2010
this property was passed down to me from my mother who passed away 2013 @ the age of 103. this was here dream. I have dedicated the angel fountain to her
Chaguanas is the largest borough and the fastest - growing town in Trinidad and Tobago. Chaguanas is located in the Central of Trinidad about 18 km (11 mi) south of Port of Spain. Enterprise is east of Endeavour and north of Longdenville. Chaguanas has a lowland seasonal tropical climate with a wet season lasting from July to December and a dry season lasting from December to June.
From the beginning to the end of our stay in Trinidad the Richardson’s were the most courteous and hospitable couple that my fiancé and I have ever met. We had a cousin that that arrived in Trinidad hours earlier than we did and Mr. and Mrs. Richardson picked her up from the airport, got something for her to eat, and made her feel comfortable at the house for hours before we got there. Speaking of the house, it was perfect for the group of people staying through Carnival Tuesday (4 guests). I did not expect to have cable or a Wi-Fi while I was there so having both was a plus! The kitchen came in handy for the few days after Carnival. The washer and dryer made me happy because there was no way that I was going to re-pack all of those clothes covered in paint and sweat from the many fetes we attended. You think you don’t need a washer and dryer on vacation but you do! Mrs. Richardson was insistent upon us having enough towels or whatever else we needed during our stay.
I felt very safe on the property and it was comforting having the Richardson’s check on us to make sure everything was going smoothly. We actually enjoyed seeing them so much that every now and then we all would sit and talk on the porch and enjoy each other’s conversation. If you’re lucky Mr. Richardson will introduce you to Carey who lives down the street. She is an amazing caterer and prepared several meals for our crew.
Towards the end of our trip I realized how much more beneficial it was staying in a rented property rather than a hotel. We were able to fully experience Trinidad and could go and come without the hassle of the long lines in a hotels’ parking deck. It was great to come to our own private space after a long day celebrating with tons of people.
I wholeheartedly recommend anyone staying at this property, whether for Carnival or just an adventure in Trinidad. For ten days this place was our home away from home!
I booked a place at Bhagaloo street, Enterprise in Trinidad, West Indies for my family and I to stay from December 30th to January 29th, 2016. Upon arriving, the place was just as it stated and the hosts were very welcoming. Not long after did we come to realize we were on a bad part of the island. After speaking with Patrick and Shirley - the owners, they assured me that we should not feel this way and have nothing to worry about. After a few we were walking to the grocery, there were men standing on the streets holding guns. Two different independent rental car companies would not rent a car to us Due to the area we were in. My family and I decided it would be in our best interest, after staying 3 night, to find another place to stay. When I approached Patrick and Shirley to explain that we would be leaving, Shirley's whole demeanour changed. She kept saying "You're not getting your money back!" Not once, did I mention money. At that point, we called a taxi and left with our belongings to stay on a different part of the island. After settling in, I decided I would contact them to let them know I would be requesting HALF my money back, as we only stayed 3 nights out of the 29 I had booked. I was told that they would not be refunding any money. Three days after that email, I received a call from Patrick and a voicemail stating he would return my money once I arrived back to Canada. He said he was sorry that it did not work out and wished us all the best. We enjoyed the rest of our stay in Trinidad and returned to Canada on January 29th, 2016. I emailed them stating I was home and appreciated the fact they could understand where I was coming from in regards to returning my money. I received an email back stating no one ever left such a message. I was shocked! I sent them the voicemail from Patrick as well as many news casts talking about the gang wars on their particular street and in the area. Months have passed and they are not responding to any of my emails. This is a WARNING to fellow travelers that Bhagaloo street, Enterprise is in the heart of gang wars, violence and shootings!
We stayed at Pat and Shirley's place for two weeks. The apartment was comfortable and had all the essentials of a home away from home. Pat and Shirley were not there but always a phone call away and very kind and helpful. Nelson their driver was there and was always helpful and around in case you needed him. On arrival in Trinidad after we gave the immigration the address in Bhagaloo street where the apartment is located we were asked to go out of the line and sit and wait until they made a call. We got worried and felt embarrassed with everyone looking at us. We have travelled to many countries but never felt like this. We were called after sometime and informed by the officer that it was okay for us to clear through and that they were only concerned about our safety since they were gang wars going on in Bhagaloo street. We were not made aware of this before booking and we got worried. During our stay day and night gunshots were heard sometimes having us jump out of our sleep and having my kids run in our room because it always sounded so close. The police were always in and out. However, being almost at the head of the street we did not have any problems and were always assured by Shirley and Nelson that we were safe. We enjoyed our stay but would have liked to be informed before booking about all that was happening in the street we were going to stay with our kids.
Excellent place. We four had a great vacation time with all amenities and confort needed. Lot of room and great reception by Mrs & Mr Richarson. House design is superve, cleanliness to the max and near grosery store and main road to downtown Chaguanas were a plus. All well maintained, utensils brand new, fridge and kitchenette excellent condition. Extra pillows, towels and sheets were supplied. Beds super confortable. A/C and hot water works great. Support for turist activities during stay. Great experience that calls for a comeback!
my overall experience with Patrick and Shirley were amazing!!! I see both of them as my extended family that I never had. The place was described exactly as Shown also they mad sure I got to the residence safely coming too and going back to the airport. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants an unforgettable experience of the Caribbean!!!I will continue to go back and stay their, they definitely went out of their way to make you feel right at home!!! I only wish I could have stayed longer!!!
I spent 13 nights at the nice, secured, clean, apartment and had a wonderful time in Trinidad. The place was as described in the listing regarding location (Chaguana), layout, amenities (internet, appliances etc). The owner was next door neighbor and was very accommodating and was always at our service.
I would highly recommend this property to a friend and relatives.
I enjoyed the Caroni Bird Sanctuary, Maracas Beach, San Fernanda Hill etc.
