Our unit was extensively remodeled in 2007 with modern amenities and recently redecorated in 2012 with a Balinese sensibility. The condo features cherry cabinets, granite countertops and stainless appliances in the kitchen, travertine tile, jetted tub and new vanity in the bathroom, custom shoji screens and sustainable bamboo flooring throughout. We have furnished the condo with a king size bed in bedroom 1 (new 2013), queen size bed in bedroom 2 (new Casper mattress in 2016), new and custom-refinished furniture, teak cabinetry and many pieces of original artwork. A queen sleeper sofa with a comfortable memory foam mattress (new 2014) provides accommodations for an additional two people.
The kitchen is well equipped for that gourmet meal with every conceivable appliance and tool. A new stainless dishwasher was added in 2013. The unit also has a 42” flat screen TV, Blueray/DVD/CD player, wireless internet, and phone. Though the unit is kept cool by the afternoon breezes, the living area and both bedrooms are air conditioned. Bedroom 1 and the living room are also equipped with ceiling fans. A kayak, paddleboard, boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, beach chairs umbrella and coolers are also available for use by our guests.
Pohailani Maui is a small, intimate complex of 114 units located in Kahana, about 10 minutes north of Lahaina. If you are looking for a quiet location to be your temporary home on Maui, away from the busy resort areas while providing easy access to all of West Maui, this is it! The lush and well-landscaped complex is made up of small, two-unit buildings for maximum privacy. Mango and other flowering trees as well as many tropical plants abound. The complex boasts not one, but two recently retiled swimming pools and two new barbecue grills. And, of course, Kahana Beach is directly across the street. At the end of the day enjoy a cocktail on the spacious lanai.
The condo is convenient to all that West Maui has to offer. Maui’s finest beaches, excellent snorkeling, hiking, golf, and sailing opportunities, as well as the historic and exciting city of Lahaina are all a short drive away. The waters off this region are the winter home of humpback whales, which can often be spotted close to shore. The complex is within walking distance of several excellent restaurants and a few minutes drive of many others.

We love Hawaii and have visited several times. After considering numerous properties on different islands we were thrilled to find this one on Maui. The location, near the beach, town and the sites of west Maui is excellent and we loved the decor.
This upgraded unit is one of the finest on the property and we have equipped it with everything you will need to enoy your stay on Maui. The property is located across the street from the beach and within a few minutes drive of Lahaina and Ka'anapali. The unit is also well situated to take advantage of all of the sites of West Maui.
Loved the property, the layout and parking situation. The condo was very clean, updated and very easy to get to. The kitchen has all supplies needed to live, a great variety of books and wifi. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars, you can hear the upstairs neighbor, and last night's stay sounded like they were moving furniture till 3am. I highly recommend staying here especially if you need two bedrooms, perfect for a family.
The condo is one of the best appointed ones we've stayed at to date. Coffee and microbrewery within walking distance. Beach is about a 500 yard walk but is a nice mostly sand beach. Have us a great home base for of exploring of the island. Todd, the owner, is very quick with communication and helped us multiple times.
This condo was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers). I think it would be a little cramped for any more than 4, as the living/dining area is not setup for more than that. The owner has done a FABULOUS job of equipping the condo with anything and everything that you may need....even has a parka in the closet for a visit to Haleakala, which most people wouldn't pack for coming to Hawaii. I loved that it is a free standing 2 unit townhouse style condo and the upstairs neighbor is a full time resident who was very nice and quiet while we were there. Parking is right next to the front door, so very convenient to load/unload the car. Back of unit opens up to a beautiful courtyard.....if you can't tell, we LOVED this unit.....it was SUPER clean when we arrived and the kitchen appliances are great. We will share this with all of our friends/family planning on going to Maui and we will definitely stay here when we return. Location was very central and to put it in perspective, we had friends staying at a resort for 3 nights and what we paid for 6 nights was less than what they paid for 3 nights. A GREAT place to stay!
This is a lovely little condo unit, close to a general store (5 minute walk), gas station, Maui Dive shop, the highway, and several lovely beaches. There is a beach nearby, but I admit we tended to drive a few minutes down the highway to different locations. The area is very quiet so don't expect to party... though after a day in the sun and water, you probably won't have much energy left.
This condo comes with most of the usual comforts: bath/shower, towels, washer/dryer, full kitchen, and TV if you're so inclined.
The owner was very helpful, giving me suggestions on where to go and what to do. Would definitely recommend this location.

Who likes a busy, overcrowded resort where you have to pay for everything and end up using very little..not us! After staying in resorts nearby in the past we decided to rent a condo in a family friendly area and away from tourists trying to reserve sun loungers. We were very glad to have found 151 Pohailani as it had everything we needed. Todd provided us with very helpful info regarding the area including discount groceries and the condo was complete with more supplies than you needed which is rare so we didn't have to buy extra washing/laundry items. Also nice to have a stocked spice cabinet, oil and food wrap etc. The condo is well appointed and cool. It came with a full cupboard of beach supplies meaning we didn't have to lug kids beach gear on holiday. The location is excellent being close to family beaches, shops and right by a pool. The only fault we found was the floor had been vacuumed but needed a good mop, our feet were black from the floor but this is minor. The second bed may need replacing soon as it was a thin mattress that is very worn in and saggy..ok for our child. Other than that, we had a wonderful experience here and would recommend it any day over the large resorts nearby.
This condo was perfect for our family. It was very clean and had everything we could ask for. We were traveling with our 7-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter. They quickly made friends with other kids staying in the complex. The complex felt very safe and everyone was very friendly. The kids had ample space to play in the grassy courtyard with the other kids, and at the same time the downstairs unit was very private with no other units directly facing ours. The unit was very quiet, though the upstairs neighbors occasionally thumped around sounding like big foot. The unit was very cool in the daytime with the sliding glass door open and we used the a/c at times at night to cut the humidity. The new bed is very comfortable in the master bedroom (which we gave to the kids) and the second bedroom bed was comfortable enough. We would definitely stay here again.
