Overview

Flathead Lake Cabin Rental Photos and Description

5 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 10

Whispering Pines is a cozy cabin and boathouse on the shores of Flathead Lake, offering picturesque mountain and lake views. This rustic cabin will provide you and your friends or family a relaxing retreat on the beautiful west shore of Flathead Lake. If you want to spend more time outside than in, want value for your dollar and have a large party, Whispering Pines is for you.

On the first floor of the main cabin you will find a retro blue and white kitchen. The living room is just around the corner, with a fireplace and flat screen TV. Also off the kitchen are a bedroom with a full bed and a bathroom. A gas grill and patio seating are provided outside.

Downstairs in the daylight basement are 2 more bedrooms with queen beds, a kitchenette, a bathroom and a laundry area. This level opens to a covered patio with views down to the lake.

A short walk through the pines will bring you to the boathouse, where you will find 2 adjoining bedrooms with a queen bed and a full bed, a small wraparound deck and stunning lake views. Wake up to the sunrise over Flathead Lake and drink your coffee at the end of the dock or enjoy a brisk morning swim.

The waterfront includes a pebble beach and a built-in fire pit for evenings by the lake. Panoramic views of Flathead Lake are an enviable feature of this property.

Whispering Pines is centrally located for recreation and summer attractions. Glacier Park is approximately a 40 minute drive, the National Bison Range in the Mission Valley is a 50 minute drive, and Kalispell, Bigfork (featuring the Bigfork Summer Playhouse) and Polson are all less than 30 minutes away. Enjoy water sports, horseback riding, hiking, fishing and golf all within a 35 minute drive!

Whispering Pines sleeps 10.

We do not allow weddings, receptions and events over 15 people (due to home capacity, neighborhood and insurance reasons). Overnight stays are limited to 10 people. This home does not allow pets or smoking.

This home is equipped with "starter supplies" such as paper and cleaning products, linens and towels. The kitchen comes with standard amenities, coffee maker and utensils. Should you need specific items, please do not hesitate to ask and we will supply them if possible. Thanks for looking!

This home is open for online reservations starting 3 days from today's date if available. For last minute reservations, please contact us via phone or email as the calendar may not reflect all availability.

Reviewer Comments:

worst vacation ever the pictures were very deceiving the place was infested with mice, the kitchen pots, pans, etc.were dirty, electric frying pan was broke, electric griddle was broke, was told we would have cable tv and didn't,2 of the beds had 2 inch piece of foam for the mattress,we was also told we would have access to a boat house and didn't,was told they would refund me $300.00 and never got it,my aunts boat sank and the 2 police officers that showed up along with the boat recovery center said we should have been told not to have an open bow boat on that my aunt lost her boat, this was a vacation from ****,paid $1,800 for Friday check in at 5:00 with 10:00 check out on Tuesday what a rip off,we would of been better off staying at a fancy motel and going out and eating every meal would of been cheaper and a lot nicer i would not recommend this place to any one.I am turning this over to the Better Business Bureau.

Reviewer Comments:

Whoever the photographer is could probably even make me look pretty. The cabin is way smaller than pictured and the bathroom downstairs is pretty much so small it is not even functional. The railing on the bunkhouse feels like it is getting ready to go. There were exposed wires, the staircase....well good luck and wear a helmet. There is so much old garage sell fodder that there isn't enough room to put clothes away nor room in the kitchen for food. The carpet was badly stained and downstairs smells a bit funky. There's some nice carpet in the bathroom too! Bring plenty of lightbulbs, trash bags, and toilet paper with you. If you root around behind the microwave you may find some goodies. We scored an old box of cheerios! The dock is fixed and the waves can get big so if you bring a boat don't plan on leaving it tied up. Neighbors were a bit snobby but the squirrels and chipmunks are friendly. It isn't a good spot for small kids as the cabin needs some repair. The overall location was very nice but for what you pay it just didn't add up.

Owner's Response: Mr. Dofflemeyer - While we appreciate your candid comments about our service, there are a few key details missing. When you and your party decided to break your rental agreement and stay late, you caused us to have to refund the next arriving guests a considerable amount of money. The issues you list in your review were only brought to our attention 3 days after your departure and after you were informed you would have to pay for the additional charges due to staying past your agreed upon checkout time. You have refused to pay for the additional charges. We inspected the home immediately after receiving your complaints and found only 1 light bulb out. We’ve already spoken personally about the details of your stay, but suffice it to say we find it hard to find any credibility to your review. For anyone wishing to dig a little deeper into our guest reviews, we invite you to check out the 600+ other guest comments on our website. - The Montana's Best Team

My Husband kids and Grandkids stayed here for 8 nights. We I'll do this again. The location is great close to lakeside for groceries etc. The whole family enjoyed watching the squirrels, playing in the water and boating. The dock is lovely however it got windy one day and it would be nice to have some extra padding on the dock;bumpers Or something. Also carpet in the bathroom....yuck!!! Overall though it met all our needs and we had a great time.

Very nice dock, the boathouse was our favorite part. Being able to fall asleep listening to the waves was very soothing. The house was clean and comfortable to stay in. My daughter loved your classic fridge! This house overall was a very cute and comfy house, and perfect for what we were looking for.

Reviewer Comments:

the location, swimming and dock were excellent. The cottage had a great deck at the back. There was a problem with wasps but lots of traps provided. The cottage was on the small side but we had no rain.lock box worked great. I would recommend that the carpets be shampooed...very stained. The rest of the cottage was clean. The fridge in the laundry room needs the fan fixed. Very noisy. The folding door between the two bedrooms downstairs needs to be replaced. Upstairs the sink stopper needs to be replaced. Shortage of toilet paper for 11 people. The bed upstairs is on its last legs...suggest replacement.. Mostly minor fixes. We did have a great time and loved the beautiful lake....even had deer walking thru the property. We would book again.

Owner's Response: We are very appreciative of your candid review of Whispering Pines and are happy you enjoyed your stay! This is excellent information, and we will use your observations to work with the home owner to improve future guests experiences. The products we provide in our homes, including toilet paper, are starter kits with a couple days of essentials to allow guests to settle in and purchase their preferred products later in their stay. We do this to provide our guests with the convenience of not rushing out to purchase supplies while at the same time allowing guests to stock the home with products of their choice. We enjoyed hosting you and hope to see you again! -The Montana's Best Vacation Rental Team

Reviewer Comments:

This is a great location but the cabin type house is on the small side. It worked great for us as the weather was perfect so we spent most of our time out either on the water or deck. It would have been a different story if the weather wasn't nice. It would be nice to have screens on all window, but the fans in each bedroom was nice. The outside furniture, gas bbq and 3 refrigerators was a bonus. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, spices ect. All in all its a great get away place. Tips for future renters; take extra tp, garbage liners, foil & foil pans for cooking on the the bbq.
