Seven of us stayed here for a weekend to attend a family reunion. We enjoyed the spacious, clean house, modern kitchen and the quiet privacy of the area. The dock to the water was very nice although the weather was uncooperative during our visit. The owner was most pleasant and easy to work with.
We had a reunion of our friends at this place and it is really nice place and the house is very comfortable for 12 people. All the furniture is good and everything is available in kitchen and we just took paper plates and disposables. The sunset view from the living room is really fantastic. It is just 10 min away from sea shore and we enjoyed our 3 day stay and would definitely recommend for a group of 10 - 12. The owner is very courteous and prompt in responding to our questions.
We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary with our two sons, two daughter-in-laws, and five grandchildren for a week on Salt Marsh Lane. We had a wonderful time and the house was big enough that we were able to spread out and everyone had their own space.
The long walk to the dock through the marsh grass was great as we watched for fish, crabs, and jellyfish. We rented a kayak and a stand up paddle board which were launched from the dock for much enjoyment.
We had spent many days in Chincoteague when our sons were youngsters and it was a very memorable walk down memory lane and many new memories were made.
I would highly recommend this house for multiple families.
This house is beautiful and is in a great location with fantastic views. The kitchen is really nice and updated and almost all the furniture is comfortable and nice too. We loved the dock and overall the house is great. BUT the kitchen has barely anything stocked, no steamer, cookie trays, stuff like that. There were rusty items in the kitchen as well, the coffee maker was in horrible shape too. The deck, which is fairly good size overlooking the amazing view HAS NO CHAIRS what good is having a deck WITH NO CHAIRS? We had to drag our beach chairs back and forth from our car to the deck! And the screened in porch is tiny and can barely fit 4 people and the door when opened blocks almost half the screened porch. The dock has absolutely no seating either so be aware if you want to go down by the dock and enjoy the view, you will be bringing a chair with you. A bunch of doors are old and annoying/hard to open and close. The washer didn't even fill up half way with water so you can't fill it too much when washing. Love island getaways and from all the great reviews it seemed great, I think the owners need to actually take a look at the house they own. Happily this didn't effect our vacation at all and had an awesome time as usual, but for my family who has been coming to chincoteague and renting houses for 15 years, this was disappointing.
Our group of women had a marvelous time enjoying this beautiful home. The dock and sunsets were outstanding. We spent relaxing mornings with coffee in the comfy living room with the gorgeous mammoth coffee table! We often cooked dinner in the kitchen which was well appointed with everything you could need. The relatively private location was perfect for our good times and many activities including biking, kayaking, and scootering all around Chincoteague. Not to be missed is an evening fire on the Assateague beach (be sure to check for the approved locations). The week was perfect, a major part of which was this incredible home. We highly recommend it!
