This log cabin was built in 1932 as a restaurant. It still has some of the original birch tables and benches. It is located 5 miles from the trail head to most of the the Adirondack High Peaks. It also only a 5 minute drive to the center of Lake Placid. It is a beautiful building with an open deck and a screened in porch. Step off the back of the property and you experience a beautiful view of the Adirondack Mountains. Great base camp for hiking or for a place to get a taste of the Adirondack flavor.

Have lived in Lake Placid all my life. I own a bed and breakfast inside the village. When my work load lets up, I like to hike or ski and a good book is a great way to relax.

This cabin has been in my family forever. My dad would only let family use it but after he passed away, we found that we needed to rent it to maintain it. All the rental fees go right back into the cabin.
The cabin is located outside of Lake Placid but is still close to town. Besides the hiking nearby, there is also a golf course, fishing and many miles of biking. There is so much to do around Lake Placid. This cabin is very much into the loop of activites.
My husband and I stayed here for the week. The cabin is exactly as it looks in the pictures only better! It had the perfect ADK feel we were looking for. It has everything you would need at home except food. You don't need to bring linens, kitchenware, nothing. The screened in porch and open deck are great for enjoying an outdoor dinner. The outdoor fireplace was so relaxing in the evenings after a long day of hiking high peaks and kayaking. The cabin is very close to either Lake Placid or Keene. The only drawback, and I mean only, is that it sits fairly close to Rt. 73 which is a main road between Lake Placid and Keene, so there is road noise. This is a minimal inconvenience considering all of the positive things about the cabin. We will be staying here again in the future!
My family has been going here for 6 years and it still is one of the best areas to be. The cabin is a little hard to find because it is in the woods, but it's really enjoyable (especially with the loft). A bunch of great swimming holes, shops, restaurants, and so much more. It also spots family's with every specific need (nothing is in walking distance though). This is definitely a place to be on your retreat to Lake Placid!
Buying an Olympic Passport at the Olympic Center is worth it, it gets you into all the Olympic Venues plus a drive up Whiteface Mountain.
