A great place to stay, centrally located. The guest house is detached from the main house with a patio table and chairs under an old mesquite tree. Enjoy your morning coffee and a pastry from the french bakery close by. The guest house has an under the counter refrigerator, two burner hotplate, coffee maker, dishes, pots, toaster oven, microwave, queen size futon with memory foam mattress, bathroom with a shower only, no tub. A small water heater for showers 7-10 minutes, free wi-fi. Shampoo, soaps, linens, coffee, teas, and a hot pot. Please note that there is not an oven or cook top, but a toaster oven and two burner hot plate. No smoking inside. Close to shopping, restaurants, hiking, biking, Tucson Racquet Club and UofA.
We have lived in Tucson since the 1970's, and have come and gone for schooling, working in Lesotho, Mexico, a stint in Denver, but always coming back. Twenty years ago, we bought our first house just a half a mile from this location. Alene is an educator by trade and Scott works for a non-profit agency. We've raised our two boys here and look for every opportunity to engage in outdoor recreation.
Alene Coverdale purchased this studio in 2000
We bought our current home as a 'project' and ended up moving into it and staying.
Several people have lived in the studio over the years, but we decided to give the vacation rental a try. We are three miles north of campus. We enjoy meeting travellers and like to give people a chance to explore a unique part of the country.
Our hope is that people will come and enjoy the place and the surrounding area, and make it a part of their regular vacation plans. We live on the property too, and are happy to point the way to the beaten track or off the beaten track for the best recreation, relaxation and exploring that we have discovered in Tucson and Southern Arizona.
We think that you will find the location of this home ideal. This rental is within a bus ride to campus and stadiums, restaurants and shopping. There is easy access to the city center, the Campbell corridor restaurants, Finger Rock Canyon trailhead, the Rillito River a bike-and-pedestrian parkway, grocery store, and many great music and art venues.
We had a lovely stay! Everything was exactly as the listing had described. Detailed and thoughtful care of the property was evident, along with lots of creative touches. The location was great, with barely any traffic, and it was quiet. Being in this neighborhood gave us a good local feel for Tucson, and it was easy to get from there to all of the places we wanted to visit. Alene, the host, was welcoming, responsive, and helpful. I would recommend this property to anyone who is traveling solo or for two people who don't mind being in close quarters.
We really loved our stay in Tucson! Our hosts, Alene and Scott were very generous and friendly. They were available to answer questions about Tucson and made many good suggestions while we were there. They provide a very comfortable pad for guests. The guest house they offer is in their secure fenced backyard. It is one of the coziest we have ever stayed in! Though you are in their backyard it feels very private. Some of the extra features that we were happy to have, and had not expected, were the memory foam bed, gas grill, private patio, great shower, and laundry.. And lizards! And the internet works good too! The location is close to just about everything you would want to do. There is also an nice bike/walking path nearby. We will definitely stay there again! Thank you Alene and Scott!
WE enjoyed 4 nights at this little casita. It was the perfect spot. It was clean and sweet. Our dog loved it. We loved it. The family was welcoming and left us in peace. It had all the essentials, and some extras to make it more comfy! Thanks so much- I will be back. Barb
Will definitely stay here again. Good location, perfect size for one or two people, many thoughtful touches: great coffee, lovely lotion, body wash and shampoo provided. Great private patio. Thoughtful hosts.
All-in-all a lovely week.
My wife and I spent over a week in this little casita and really enjoyed our stay! Alene was very communicative and helpful with area information, etc. The space is small but has most of the conveniences to keep food around and cook simple meals. Most of all it is well-located in a nice neighborhood that is convenient to much of what Tucson has to offer. We also enjoyed the outdoor living space, which includes mesquite trees and other desert plants. The casita is clean and well maintained. Overall, we would certainly go there again!
The guest house is just half a mile from Tucson's premier bike / equestrian / pedestrian parkway. Walk or bike to the Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club, or nearby riding stables. There are 33 restaurants within a couple of miles, ranging from Tucson-casual to elegant fine dining. Enjoy a quiet retreat or a convenient base for a wide variety of outdoor activity.
