I have discussed my feelings with the manager of this property, but wanted to post them so that potential renters will have an opportunity to make sure the problems we encountered have been rectified. We were given a discount though not nearly what the credit card company felt was fair. The house is quite nice but the owner really needs to pay attention to its care.
The major problem we encountered were one toilet leaking and another backing up shortly after our arrival which necessitated the manager having to call root rooter who corrected the back-up problem and indicated that the other toilet needed to be replaced. For the next two days, the sewer odor greeted us when we would come and
go from the house. Fortunately our relatives had rented a home as well and we ended up spending all our time there only sleeping at this home and having our breakfast.
We encountered other problems as well. The first night we arrived, the upstairs bedroom had only one light that worked and the light over the sink in the bathroom had such low wattage that you could barely see and it was like taking a shower in the dark. The downstairs hall, bedrooms and master closet had dirty carpets with many stains.
One of the downstairs beds did not even have a bedpad on it and the sheets and blanket provided for the master king bed did not fit at all.
Construction is going on in the area and if you are there on a weekday, be prepared to arise early!
The one positive is that the kitchen was well appointed! The living room area was large and quite nice.
If you are going to rent this property, I would suggest that you 1) inspect it or 2) speak with Cathleen at the rental company to make sure that the problems I have mentioned have been addressed. She was very upset to learn of the problems we had and did her best to secure a refund - though I thought the owner could have certainly agreed to more given the problems - especially the sewer issue.
