Our family has a tradition to go up north at least once a year, mainly in the fall. We have been to a lot of different areas and although we always enjoyed ourselves, we were always searching for the perfect spot. In 2013 my family and I went to Indian River. We found that it was literally THE perfect location up north and fell in love. After spending a week in Indian River and the surrounding areas, we were leaving and I told my husband that we had to end up there in years to come. Little did we know that the family would get together and after looking all over, purchase this beautiful home to use and share with you in Indian River!
I grew up in Florida but my family was from MI. I always had a love for MI even though I had only been here twice. Little did I know that I would meet and fall in love with my future husband who lived in MI.
My husband is originally from Russia and moved here as a young child. Even though he always lived in a city, he and his family always had a passion for the forests and outdoors. A family pastime is picking forest mushrooms!
We live in Oakland County and try to get up to our cabin as often as possible. Our free time includes spending time with family, travelling, cooking, barbecuing, fishing, hunting, skiing, sledding, and snowmobiling.
Naomi or Vadim purchased this house in 2014
Our families had a great time! It was so nice to be able to spread out - we never felt over-crowded! It was nice to have everything provided - even a polka-dot can opener!
Loved the lower level - the kids claimed that for themselves. Property is beautiful and soooo peaceful. We all kayaked and the kids played in the river.
We would definitely return!
Thanks for everything!
This is a great place! There were a lot of things we really loved about this property. It had lots of room, slept 14 very comfortably. It had a large, open kitchen space - nice for our large group. High ceilings and lots of windows kept anyone from feeling at all crowded. Was great to have a bathroom/shower on every floor. Was awesome to be just a short walk from the river, morning coffee at the river was very nice. But we probably liked sitting out on the sheltered deck area the best. Whether it was warm and sunny or pouring rain, it made for a great hangout / gathering space. The only thing that could be improved is when we moved the table to be under the light to play cards it was difficult to sit at and navigate around the table due to it being too large for the space. Maybe another deck light would keep it from having to be moved. But other than that minor thing the place is otherwise great. Can't wait to go back again next year!!
Listing was exactly as described, very clean and well maintained. The owner contacted me prior to my visit to make sure our group had everything we needed - great customer service. He even met someone from our group a few days later to return a forgotten article. Would highly recommend this property to others.
We had a group of 12 stay at the cabin and we all had a great time. Upon arrival, the cabin was in great shape and very clean.
We had 12 adults and there was plenty of room for everyone. The river is much closer to the cabin than we originally thought and that was a great surprise. The fire pit area was a great way for us to sit back and relax.
Overall, everyone was very impressed by the cabin and we would definitely head there again.
Beautiful log home nestled in quiet woods. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Extremely clean. Pride of ownership shows in detail. Will definitely keep on my list of places to return.
Great house in beautiful area of Northern Michigan on the Sturgeon River. Quiet and peaceful, with access to river activities. The house was large with plenty of room for a large group. Everything is in the house that you would need. Can't wait to return!!!
2nd time staying and great as the first time. Owners are very friendly and attentive- they added some things we had recommended during our last stay (TV on main floor; regular toaster). Really like how everything about the house is newer, very clean, and well maintained.
