Sunset Beach is beachside 12 condo resort just south of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. The owners describe newly renovated (Nov 2014) Condo A6 as follows:
'Enter through the handmade stain-glass door and you will find that this 3-bedroom, 2-bath condo has much to offer. Because it is on the second and third levels of the complex, the views are truly exceptional. And you can enjoy those views from a large, furnished private balcony on either floor. A6 was recently renovated, with a beautiful, private master bedroom upstairs with its own veranda overlooking the sea. The kitchen boasts thick granite countertops and cabinets stocked with all of your cooking needs besides the groceries.
Let the breezes in on a nice day, or take advantage of the central air conditioning if it is warm. Watch a movie or listen to a CD from the collection right there in the condo or enjoy some of your own music by syncing to our wireless speaker. Stay in and play one of the many games that are already there, or grab one of our beach towels and go to the pool for a swim. Or decide to grab one of our books and go have a nap in one of our hammocks. Especially, enjoy the wonderful collection of local and world art that decorates this special place. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and servingware, so eating in is always a fun option.
This condo can sleep up to eight guests. There are four flat-screen televisions so everyone can watch what they want, and the two-level configuration of the unit really lends itself to privacy within a group.'
Enjoy wireless internet, phone, central air conditioning, ceiling fans, cable TV, and tiled floors throughout the condo. You’ll have a fabulous vacation here!

I've lived most of my life in the U.S. but have also lived for a couple of months to up to two years in different countries: Germany, Spain, Australia, Colombia, Ecuador & Belize. Since 2011 I've been living a somewhat nomadic lifestyle while exploring, working & volunteering in new & old places -- it's a great way to keep learning!
I was lucky to meet Deb & Mark from Dallas, who own the Cartagena, Colombia, & Ambergris Caye, Belize, vacation rentals I'm listing. They asked me to help them out and I've fallen into doing something that I love -- helping people like you with their travels. Let me help you with your dream vacation!
We also partner with 'Pack for a Purpose', an organization that links travelers who'd like to help fulfill wish lists of non-profits in developing countries. We work with Fundación La Vecina, a community organization in Cartagena, and in Belize we partner with Ambergris Caye Elementary School (ACES) and the Saga Humane Society in San Pedro. We'd love to have your help!
5 of us recently enjoyed Holy Week at Sunset Beach. What an extremely relaxing vacation - I utilized the hammocks every morning and whenever I could in the afternoon/evening. There is a lovely strong breeze that comes in from the sea usually in the morning and evening.
For us, this was a great vacation spot, as many other places were sure to be packed with Spring Breakers; we had mostly peace and quiet, as usually 4-5 other small groups/couples occupied the other rentals.
Location is good, a golf cart was very handy for getting into town but not totally necessary. We used bikes frequently and used the kayaks a couple of times. Suya tours is right behind the building and a small corner store half a block away. There were several great restaurants in town, coffee shops, etc.
My only negative was that (I think this applies to San Pedro in general) the beaches are not good for swimming - it is very shallow and has A LOT of turtle grass.
Ambergris Caye, “La Isla Bonita”, is a popular tourist destination. San Pedro is a quaint little town of about 13,000 residents that has retained its charm while handling the growing number of visitors. Sunset Beach Resort is located 2.5 miles/4 km south of the town core, which means you are away from the crowds yet still within easy reach of everything. Not only will you be able to enjoy a restful day on a quiet beach, you will have a quiet night as well – no bar or restaurant noise, just swaying coconut fronds and the occasional fish jumping in the water!
Town is not far away when you want to go in for some live music, shopping, restaurants, etc. But there are things close by too; here are a few things within walking distance of Sunset Beach:
--Suya Tour operators (1 minute walk)
--Marin’s, a small grocery store (2 minute walk)
--Restaurants: Lone Star Grill & Black Orchid (4 minute walk)
--Island Time Beach Bar (10 minute walk)
--A beach yard filled with coconut sculptures! (5 minute walk)
The Belize Barrier Reef, the longest in the western hemisphere, is just 1/2 mile off shore. The water is warm and crystal clear--ideal for scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing.
It's also easy to take a day trip from the resort to visit Mayan sites such as Altun Ha and Lamanai; or a trip to observe some of the 500 species of birds found in Belize and/or catch a glimpse of monkeys, manatees and crocodiles in the wild!
Most people rent golf carts when visiting Ambergris Caye (it’s not possible to rent a car). Our concierge team can arrange your golf cart rental and have it waiting for you at Sunset Beach on your arrival if you wish. Rental costs depend on the cart size and time of year but start at about US$275/week.
As mentioned, there are also complimentary bikes & kayaks available at the resort. It’s about a 10 minute bike ride into town.
It’s also possible to walk to town, either via the beach (40 minutes to an hour, depending on how fast you walk) or via the road (slightly longer).
Taxis are also available.
