San Pedro Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Welcome, come experience paradise with us! We would love to have you stay with us!

Diamond Reef is six and 1/2 miles north of San Pedro in a gorgeous and secluded area directly in front of the popular Mexico Rocks Reef Diving Reserve. The clear, dazzling aqua blue waters are enchanting. It’s just like a postcard!

It is very private and quiet, but by no means remote. Other Villas and resorts that share this wonderful stretch of beach, include Casa Rana (three houses south), 18 Degrees North (one lot North), Costa Maya Resort and Portofino are south and Blue Reef and X’Tan Ha North. They all have websites that you may want to check out.

Away from the hustle and bustle of town, it is quiet and safe, providing the perfect place to vacation. Diamond Reef consists of three Condos, only two of which are rented. You have the huge private beach and pier virtually to yourself. It is the perfect place for a romantic get away or for the family who doesn’t want to worry about the kids getting away. The rate includes free pickup and return when you arrive and depart from San Pedro, a daily trip in our private boat to anywhere on the Island, free WiFi, DirecTv, use of a local cell phone during your stay and complementary Kayaks.

Our private boat is at your disposal, complete with boat Captain, Alvin. Alvin is always available to take you to town or to any of the many resorts and restaurants up and down the coast of Ambergris Caye.

The Coastal Express water taxi also makes regularly scheduled stops at our pier as well, every one or two hours.

Exciting stay!

  • 4 of 5

I say we had an exciting stay as we rode out Hurricane Earl with the owners during our stay. We were well prepared for the power outage for a few days and mopping up the water was not a huge deal. Unfortunately, the pier and palapa were destroyed. The owners and caretakers were out cleaning up everything immediately. Being long-time Alaskans, we were immune to a power outage and high winds. However, I would not have stayed for anything stronger than a category 1 storm.

The condo was minimally appointed, but comfortable. The pool was small but perfect for our 8-year old and nice for a quick dip. My only suggestions would be to outfit the kitchen and the terrace better. There were very few plastic cups and plates, with limited utensils for food prep. A couple of wine glasses would be handy. We prefer to cook, rather than eat out all the time. I also would love a hammock or lounge chairs on the terrace for comfortable gazing at the sea!

I truly hope the area has recovered from the storm. Many of the bars, palapas and docks were destroyed. We will be back!

Owner's Response: Yes, the hurricane affected us more than was expected. Although it was a category 1, the storm surges were much larger than would have been thought. Almost every pier on the Island was severely damaged, including ours. But we are back on our feet and everything is good again. We have noted the comments and are correcting them as regards the kitchen.

Perfect accommodations for 2 moms and 3 teens and Alvin is the best!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing stay at Diamond Reef. We were two friends traveling together with three teens and we wouldn't change a thing. Alvin is like a private driver, personal concierge and trip director all in one. He couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. He arranged an all-day mainland excursion for us. It was a full day but not exhausting - Mayan ruins, zip lining and cave tubing with a delicious lunch. If you go, ask for Earl. He was our personal guide and it was worth it just to spend the day with him. Alvin also arranged snorkeling in the Mexico Rocks for a fraction of what the resort nearby charges. Coordinating trips into San Pedro was easy. He checked in with us every evening to arrange transportation for the next day. We enjoyed the 15 minute boat ride into town (we live in a big city and are used to spending time on public transportation). We grocery shopped and prepared most of our meals in the condo. The kitchen is well appointed - we didn't want for anything. The setting can't be beat. Stunning sunsets, moonrises, a private beach, a refreshing pool, kayaks.Every day was a great adventure but also very relaxing. I've recommended Diamond Reef to many people and would go back without hesitation. Reserving and coordinating through Rickey was a breeze.

Great trip. Definitely an amazing deal $$$ wise. Alvin and family are hard to put a price on.

  • 5 of 5

Three couples aging from 27-30 spent 7 nights at Diamond Reef. Having a local around to help you and explain things is worth so much. Alvin helped us with rides around the island, suggestions of where to eat, lining up activities, and netting sardines/fishing tips to name a few. Rosa and Alyssa were also great to have around and kept the condos very clean.

Condo was as advertised. We stayed on the ground level. Very spacious with high ceilings and all essentials needed. A lot of time was spent out on the covered veranda. We ate at both resorts within walking distance: X Tan Ha and Costa Blu. Both are good but fairly expensive. X Tan Ha was the better deal of the two. We were able to catch enough snapper and grunt off the pier to have a nice meal for the group (with a little help from Alvin). Scaling fish was new to us so Alvin gave us a crash course and offered to clean them but we wanted to help.

Overall, we had great experience and know exactly where we will stay if we go back to Belize. Rick made lining everything up easy and was great to talk with on the phone.

Birthday treat

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I and my sister spent a week here to celebrate our birthday. The property was as described and well maintained. Rick was great to deal with, and always was quick to respond to any questions. Alvin was very nice and always there to help.I would highly recommend staying here. There are 2 resturants within walking distance, although we did not try them, they looked nice. Plenty of local good food in town, and reasonably priced.Several grocery stores in town with a good selection. The local fresh Mangos are wonderful! Izzys smoothies are great.

Note that the property is a bit remote and requires a 15-20 min boat trip or rent a golf cart and it's a 20-30 min drive on mostly rough "road". Check out cart before you rent, they are mostly pretty worn out.

We did do a mainland tour, but this requires boat trip to town, air to Belize City or Water shuttle (1 1/2 hrs each way). Most trips will be 10+ hours. Stay on the Caye and enjoy the SCUBA or snorkel trips, kayaks, and the weather!

Enjoy Diamond Reef Condos and Ambergris Caye. Thanks to Rick and Alvin and his wife.

Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently returned from our third consecutive vacation at Diamond Reef (our seventh trip to Ambergris Caye). That should say all that need be said; that plus we'll probably stay there again the next time. DR is the ideal get away from it all spot. The pool is a great addition! The seclusion is probably not for all tastes but it works for us. Plus, Alvin is great about providing boat rides in to San Pedro if the need to be around people (or shopping) is urgent. He's also an expert at arranging outings for the adventurous. We always know our vacation has truly begun when we see Alvin at the airport and he comes over to give us welcome hugs.

Beautiful property on a private beach

  • 4 of 5

My friends and I stayed here for 3 days in November. The property is about 15 minutes via boat from San Pedro. A clean pool, 4 kayaks, and complimentary boat ride to/from San Pedro are all provided for. The kitchen has all the basic supplies you need. We had some issues with Alvin driving us to and from San Pedro but it wasn't enough to ruin our vacation. The wifi range is limited when you leave the building and walk to the beach and the living room AC leaked water. The owner Rick is very hands on and very responsive. He will respond to your email in hours. There's coconut trees on premise, and you can pick your own coconuts. The condo is very clean and the beds were very comfortable. There is also a large terrace where you can enjoy your meals. Overall, we had a great time.
