Wonderful cabin for the holidays

  • 4 of 5

The Jay Peak Log Cabin was a lovely place to spend Christmas with our family - three adult children and two "plus ones." Eric was a terrific host, promptly responding to dozens of questions before our arrival and once we got there. We were greeted by a roaring fire and a bottle of wine, and everything was very clean and welcoming. We agree with previous comments about the dim lighting (especially on these short days and dark evenings) and the precarious stairs for little (or older) ones, but our crew got around fine and game playing around the fire and dinners at the big table were comfortable and cozy. The weather was VERY cold (minus 19 one day, with "feels like" temp minus 37!) so we missed one ski day and enjoyed the beautiful views from the big windows and the proximity to Big Jay Tavern for a drink and a bite. All in all, a lovely stay and a very memorable family vacation. Thanks!

It is all it is portrayed to be. Great location for Jay Peak and Montgomery.

Second visit. Works well for us. More hooks to hang towels and wet clothes on would be great!

Great place nice and close to Jay Peak - and Jay Peak Tavern!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place. Lots of room for all of us. We had 4 adults and 3 kids (ages 10-14). It's a pretty open place (the master bedroom is upstairs in a loft and the second large bedroom is on the main floor and the sound travels pretty freely between the loft and the first floor). We would have liked internet (but got around not having it by bringing a mobile hotspot (the Verizon coverage was fine and we had no trouble staying on-line). The cabin has an old Nintendo game system and the kids (and adults!) loved playing some old Mario. We hope to make it back up to this place soon - it was that good!

The perfect cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at this cabin was great experience! It is the quintessential A frame ski chalet we had imagined in Vermont. There was soooo much snow so the scenery was beautiful. It's only 3-4 miles, just over the hill from Jay Peak. We had cozy fires each night after skiing. We made some meals there which the kitchen was well equipped for. We also walked to and ate at the Big Jay tavern which was right at the entrance, cozy and had good food and beer. It was just our family of four, but there was plenty of room for at least another family to stay. It was very quiet and serene while spending time in the cabin and when we went out for our walks. I felt very relaxed and hated to leave. I would definitely come back to stay at this cabin again!

Eric is a great owner of the property! House is clean, well appointed, and cozy. The fireplace is a nice setting for an evening of relaxation after a long day on Jay.

Beautiful Home

  • 4 of 5

The home was cozy and perfect for a party of five. We did not have any couples or the house would have accommodated even more. We loved the open loft and cabin feel of the home and the owners did great with making sure there was plenty of fire wood for the fireplace. I wouldn't even hesitate to give this home a 5-star rating, but there were two things that made for a 4-star rating. The home does not have a dishwasher, so we were doing a great deal of washing dishes during our stay as we cooked a lot. Secondly, and this is purely cosmetic, the house had multiple light bulbs out in the main room making lighting pretty dim at night time. I would recommend this home and would rent this home again. Very pretty, a fantastic neighborhood with beautiful homes all around, and a close commute to the resort. Did I add that we had fantastic skiing conditions this year?? My group loves Jay and will be back.
