About Kai and Meghan Kincheloe
We both grew up in Sedona and now we are raising our two kids here. Kai is a firefighter and paramedic with Sedona Fire District and Meghan runs Verde Valley CSA, a local produce delivery program. We love mountain biking, hiking, and running on the great trails. We think there is no better place than Sedona and want all our visitors to enjoy it as much as we do.
Kai and Meghan Kincheloe purchased this House in 2005
Why Kai and Meghan Kincheloe chose Sedona
This is our second house converted to a vacation rental. The other home, Yellow Door House, listing # 3591367, has been a huge success and we wanted to offer more choices for our travelers.

Great House With Lots of Beds!
This is a great house with lots of beds for a big group. The kitchen/living room area is large and provides plenty of space. The owners are close by and very helpful when anything is needed! I would recommend this house for sure!!
Great Space, Amazing Location
This place was perfect for our girls trip (8 of us). The owners were very responsive to our questions. The house was well stocked, and while the square footage is small, the set up is so creative, it wasn't a problem to fit all of us and our stuff. The fire pit was one of the best parts - we spent each evening sitting around it. The location was also amazing - walking distance to restaurants, coffee, Tlaquepaque shopping, and pink jeeps. Parking in Sedona is tight, and the traffic not great, so being able to walk everywhere made everything easier.
A gem in the red rocks
The Blue Door House was the perfect place for my family of five on our visit to Sedona. It is comfortable, clean, and very well-stocked (kitchen, linens). And the kids loved the bunk beds - after a long day hiking they could close their curtains and even in the same room have some quiet private time.
Of course, I can't fail to mention the location. It is walking distance to the heart of downtown Sedona shopping and restaurants, as well as the Pink Jeep tours. The Pink Jeep folks even complimented us on picking a place close enough that we didn't have to deal with traffic and parking.
You can see the top of a mountain range out the sliding doors (albeit over another building), and we enjoyed the fire pit as we watched the sun set.
We couldn't have been happier. Thanks, Meghan and Kai!
Fantastic for Families/Groups!
My builder husband gave the greatest compliment, "I wish I could hire whoever did the details on this property - they're TIGHT." He commented on how the window installations - not chintzy - were installed perfectly, the caulking was a marvel, the multiple rows of industrial towel bars and clothing rods maximized space, the wood shelving was strong and custom, the light switches were meticulously labelled... We ALL loved the light blocking and sound muffling drapes that enclosed each bunk bed into a private cocoon with a light and power strip inside each one. The hooks above the shower tiles allows multiple people to hang their own mesh shower bags in the showers. Extra razors, toothbrushes, laundry detergent, coffee filters were available, too. The only "bad" thing was that the smell of cleaning disinfectant was fairly strong when we arrived, leading us to open the doors to air out the place - but that is clearly not a problem!
This was perfect for a family like ours in a close location that allowed us to walk everywhere. I would also recommend it for groups who will be on the move, shopping, hiking and going out in the evenings. I would not recommend it for honeymooners or groups/families who want to sit around for hours every morning or evening, drinking coffee while looking at views (since there are none).
Great Location, Convenient Amenities
We had two couples and a four-year-old sharing the house for a week and we couldn't have asked for a better location. We walked to restaurants and shops and the scenic walk along Oak Creek Canyon. The large kitchen, dining table and comfortable sofas were great and we loved making s'mores over the fire pit at night. Since the beds are built against the walls, they might be better for singles than couples - inevitably the person sleeping near the wall woke up first and had to crawl over their sleeping companion. We would highly recommend the Blue Door House for it's location, well-stocked kitchen and friendly gathering areas.
Great place to stay, this is our second year to visit and looking forward to next year.
This is a perfect place for 7 guys to stay and ride bikes. Everything you need is within walking distance. The Hideaway House is just across the street and we’ll worth visiting.
Blue Door House is centrally located. Nestled on a secluded street where you can find peace and quiet. Step out of your front door and you are minutes from shopping, dining, hiking, and biking. You don't even need a car; jump on your bike or walk out the door, almost everything is within walking distance. Uptown, Tlaquepaque Village, The Center for New Age; are within 5 minutes. Bell Rock, Cathedral Rock, Oak Creek Canyon: 10 minutes. Safeway, Whole Food, Walgreens, banks: 10 minutes. Biking trails including the Hogs, HiLine, Hangover, Skywalker: 10 minutes. We are truly in the heart of Sedona. Please see our other listing, Yellow Door House # 3591367 for additional dates.
