I am a retired Plumber and have lived and worked in Sedona for the past 25 years. I am actively involved in Mountain Bike/Hiking trail design and building. I spend alot of time on the land and want others to enjoy it as much as I do. I love to hike and ride. Having recently retired I stay busy in the trails community and work closely with others to ensure that our community remains biker and hiker friendly.
Leah Cox, Concierge purchased this house in 2005
This is my second house converted to a vacation rental. The other home Yellow Door House, listing # 3591367 has been a huge success and I wanted to offer more choices for our travelers.
The location, we are with walking distance to just about everything. Bikers and hikers can be on the trails within minutes. Shopping and restaurants are just around the corner. The property is on a dead end street and very private.
We stayed here with a group of 6 guys for a mountain bike getaway. The house was very comfortable for our group and, with space to store bikes and all our gear, it met all our needs. The space is very flexible and could accommodate just about any type of group. Would stay here again on family getaway or couples trip too.
Location is centrally located to shops, restaurants, and were even able to ride to the trails straight from the house!
I shared this house with 4 other girlfriends for New Years Eve weekend. The open concept kitchen/living room was perfect for our group and the very large dining table was awesome to hang out around. The wifi worked great. Everyone loved their little cubby bunkbeds - each bunkbed had a privacy curtain, a small shelf, a light and an outlet! It rained a good chunk of our weekend but we managed to enjoy the fire pit one night. The house is centrally located so we were able to walk to/from restaurants with everyone being able to enjoy some drinks and not having to worry about driving.
I have mixed feelings about sharing this review as we really liked this place and if it gets great reviews it will be more difficult to reserve!!
We were a family party of six. There were plenty of beds and more than plenty of storage for our belongings. The large kitchen table was a great gathering place for meals and game playing. To say the location was perfect is an understatement - we walked to Tlaquepaque each day we were in Sedona. We took off for easy hikes and had little traffic to deal with and traffic can be painful in Sedona!
The only minor, and I mean minor concern we had was finding the street on our arrival the first evening. It's a bit tricky as it looks like you are pulling into the gas station!
This is a great place and the concierge exceptionally helpful should you need any.
Would definitely rent this property again, we had 9 women & never got in each others way. The way the 2 baths are set up with shelves and towel racks there's plenty of storage. Same with the bedrooms storage everywhere & comfortable beds.
We were a group of 11 ladies in Sedona for a bachelorette party. The space was perfect for us to all stay together. Other options were not as efficient with space and couldn't accommodate all of us. Everything at Blue Door House is aimed at accommodating groups. There are TONS of plates, glasses (of all varieties - wine, margarita, tumblers, rocks, etc), and utensils. There were many kitchen tools, including mixing bowls, and serving utensils. We had no trouble preparing meals at the house from breakfast to dinner.
We enjoyed the grill outside, the firepit outside, and gathered around the beautiful farm table in the kitchen to share meals and drinks.
The house is centrally located, very close to the "downtown" area of Sedona, close to hiking trails. We drove out to the Devil's Bridge trail on Saturday morning, and it was barely a 15 min drive. After our hike we scheduled a Pink Jeep Tour, and had we realized sooner, we could have walked to meet our Pink Jeep Tour instead of messing around with parking downtown on a saturday afternoon. On saturday evening, we went to dinner which was less than a mile from the house as well.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay. Leah was very responsive and met us at the house to welcome us to Sedona. I'd highly recommend staying at Blue Door House.
Overall our stay was very enjoyable. The house is well deigned, equipped to handle larger groups, and conveniently located. Leah, the property manager, was very professional and focused on making sure we had a great visit. The kitchen and bathrooms were really well stocked with supplies and we took advantage of the fire pit and BBQ. I would recommend this rental and I will look to stay again if we are ever heading back to Sedona. Charlie H.
