Overall great stay for 5 couples...Unit itself for a penthouse unit is in dire need of some upgrading and TLC. Bedroom carpets were really stained, living room area rug was like a thin blanket, balcony furniture is in desperate need of cushions with padding in them, lighting was very poor in the unit both in the common areas, bedrooms and the bathrooms. Maintenance company was very responsive on an issue although not resolved completely during our stay at least the door was at least usable and hopefully fixed after we left. One of the main pools was green when we got there and they proceeded to empty and resurface during our stay which was very dusty and noisy...I would think they would do this type of work later in the season. Parking was also very challenging with someone with a handicap pass...alot of the parking close to the elevators seemed unnecessarily blocked off Even with the hiccups we encountered the view was breathtaking and made the vacation !!!
We're so glad that you had an enjoyable trip, Donna. The condo was actually just recently purchased by a new owner who has big plans for a complete renovation on all of the items that you mentioned. We're very excited for what they have in store for the unit!
Pros & Cons
We were 15 guests staying in the unit. It was very spacious and roomy and fit us all just fine. The views off the balcony were breathtaking. We found the kitchen to be very well equipped with everything we needed.
The pools are beautiful however you need to arrive by 8:30am if you have any shot of getting a chair when they open at 9. People are lined up to reserve chairs and there are about 5 umbrellas for the whole pool area. Adult only swim up bar is really nice but the drinks are expensive. Most of our issues were maintenance issues. The unit had some problems. The lighting in the whole unit but especially the bathrooms was HORRIBLE. You could barely see yourself in the mirror. There is no full length mirror in the entire unit. Not 1. I had to double check myself in the elevator mirror because it had better lighting than the unit. Maintenance was not very responsive to issues. On Monday the kitchen faucet broke off. We texted maintenance and they said they would come in the morning. They didnt show up until 2pm the next day. Then Tuesday afternoon we texted them to tell them that the ceiling in the den was leaking and plaster was falling off. We were told someone would come in the morning to fix it. No one ever came. We had 2 little girls sleeping on the pull out directly below the leaking ceiling and falling plaster. We had to lay a blanket down and use one of the trash cans to catch the water. By the time we checked out on Sat the ceiling was literally hanging down. I would say the biggest issue for me was that the unit was not clean. Upon arrival at first glance it looked clean, but after putting our groceries away and unpacking barefoot, our feet were BLACK. It was very obvious that the floor had not be cleaned. It was dirty and that grossed me out. Another issue is the roaches. To be clear, they are NOT inside the unit. But they are on the property and the balconies and in the parking garage. Not sure if this is just a SC thing and common for the area, but we had a hard time sitting on the balcony because they were all over at night. Overall it was a decent stay, but we were expecting more attention to detail for the price we paid.
We're glad you had an enjoyable trip, Tara, but we're sorry that you experienced any issues. As evidenced by multiple reviews at our 80 properties, our team is extremely responsive and we pride ourselves on that. So, we're very disappointed that you feel our team wasn't responsive to your requests given the following: You first reported that you were missing the trash chute key on Sunday at 4:52pm, and we responded at 4:53pm that we would drop one off. You replied back that you found it so we didn't need to bring one. You then reported that you needed hangers at 6:13pm, and we replied back at 6:19pm that we would drop some off the following day (which we did). You then reported the issue about the sink on Monday night around 6:40pm and our team responded at 6:46pm via text that we would have someone there tomorrow to repair it. While our team would have preferred to have been there first thing Tuesday morning, an emergency at another unit pulled them elsewhere, so they arrived as soon as they could which was 2:00pm. Regarding the plaster, we found out that's an issue within the ceilings in multiple units at North Beach Plantation (not just ours), and the resort has contracted with someone to repair the problem. So unfortunately, that was outside of our control during your stay. However, we did offer to send someone to clean up the plaster off of the floor but you declined. Having said all of that, we're honestly not sure how we could have been any more responsive to your requests. In addition, we really wish that while you were readily corresponding with our maintenance team that you would have let them know about the floor needing to be mopped again, as this is the first we're hearing that you encountered that problem. We would have definitely sent our cleaners back over to remedy that for you while you were out enjoying your vacation!.
Great Family Vacation
The rental is absolutely stunning and the pool/beach area are delightful. My only complaint was that only one outdoor pool is heated. This place is a dream vacation!
Crystal - We're so happy you enjoyed the condo and your stay. You're correct that in early to mid April, North Beach Plantation typically only heats one outdoor pool. Luckily, indoors, there's a pool, lazy river and hot tub. Thanks for vacationing with us, and we hope to see you again soon!
We had a group of 8 staying in PH03. We go to Myrtle Beach annually but this was our first opportunity to stay in one condo together. It was great!! The beds were comfy, the space was comfy but felt upscale. Lots of room to talk and play games. The kitchen is stocked well enough, I recommend a few cookie sheets - while we ate out most meals, we wanted to cook breakfast and could have used some cookie sheets to cook more bacon

North Beach Plantation Rocks!!!
We stayed in PH03 and overall it was really nice. It is in dire need of furniture updating in the living room area. The televisions for such a nice PH could definitely be upgraded, especially the tv in the living room. We had a few issues, but I must say that Robbie was dead on them and took care of everything quicker than any hotel would have!!! North Beach Plantation gets an A+, PH03 gets a B- because of the furniture and televisions, but Robbie get an A+++++++. Thanks for the pleasurable stay, memories, and we will be back!
