Bass Lake is a must-see location. Sparkling blue waters surrounded by the Sierra National Forest make for a beautiful vacation spot year round. There’s plenty to do at the lake itself—Bass Lake is considered a “warm water” lake with water temperatures reaching near 80 degrees during the summer months which make it ideal for swimming, boating and fishing.
Take in the spectacular views of Yosemite National Park, including El Capitan, Half Dome, Sentinel Rock, Cathedral Rocks and Bridalveil Falls. It has inspired the words of John Muir and the photographs of Ansel Adams. And soon, you’ll be gushing about Yosemite National Park, as well.
You can always enjoy some of Yosemite’s iconic spots. The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, Tunnel View, Glacier Point and more. See the preserved remains of animals like Colombian Mammoths, Sabre-toothed cats and the largest bear to every walk the earth, the 12-foot tall Shortfaced Bear. These creatures were found right here in Chowchilla, making it the largest Pleistocene era fossil bed in the western United States. More than 20,000 fossils have been unearthed so far.
Popular attractions around Bass Lake include the California State Mining and Mineral Museum where you can view minerals and gems from around the world and learn about California’s rich mining history. The Mariposa Museum & History Center houses a fine collection of original documents, artifacts and artwork depicting the people and life in Mariposa County. The condo was beyond our expectation.
It was clean and spacious and has all cooking utensils.
Easy check in. Immaculately clean. Walking distance to the back side of the lake. All facilities clean, neat, well kept. Staff friendly and knowledgable. Love pool, hot tub and even basketball court and small play structure. Would definitely recommend this condo. Would love to stay again.
Our 2 bedroom condo was very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen and nice barbecue grill. There was a washer/dryer in the condo which was heavenly after several days of being out hiking. The pool and spa were also very clean and well-lit at night. The property is on the north side of the lake so trips into Oakhurst for groceries, etc only took a few minutes. We will stay here every time we come to Bass Lake!
We stayed here on our last vacation to the Yosemite area. Everything was as it was shown on the website. The condo was very clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip. We used the pool a couple of times as well as the hot tub. They were both kept up very nice and were clean. The property manage is 5 star resorts plus, they are doing a great job. Hats off.
