Mark Baer purchased this apartment in 2012
I fell in love with Budapest while travelling there with my father in 1990 but never thought I'd be fortunate enough to own a place there. While visiting in 2012 and casually touring about 20 properties, I found one that I simply couldn't pass up given that it ticks all the right boxes - location, style, luxury, stunning views, private and peaceful - yet minutes from all the excitement that Budapest has to offer. I love art nouveau architecture and the building's turn-of-the-century style and high ceilings, wide staircases, arches and ornate facade captured my imagination. I also enjoyed furnishing the flat in a mixed modern, antique and Moroccan style and the end effect is very modern, tasteful, unique warm, and 'Western' - unlike most any property one will encounter in Budapest.
The ultra high ceilings and dramatic mood lighting throughout give the apartment a palatial and luxurious feel. It has all modern conveniences, is super stylishly decorated, is quiet and private, and perfectly located within quick walking distance or easy metro ride to all the best that Budapest has to offer. The Art Nouveau building has a lot of character. The view of the iconic parliament building is simply stunning, especially at night and you can even see it from the window, as well as a beautiful church with mosaic roof on a peaceful green square directly in front of the flat.
We had a fabulous stay in Budapest. If you are travelling to Budapest for the first time and are confused about whether to stay on the Buda or the Pest side, this is the answer to your questions! Nicely situated near the Chain Bridge and close to Fisherman's Bastion, this apartment is in a great neighbourhood on the Buda side with super easy access to the Pest side. The apartment was very, very roomy. It was clean and we had an excellent stay there. I'd highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to visit beautiful Budapest!
We had a delightful stay here; Andrea was very helpful & we enjoyed meeting her & conversing with her
We felt safe & comfortable in the surrounding area & in the apt. & could not have been happier
We were happy to return to Budapest after 27 yrs. & to see the Hungarian people happier & more vibrant
There is lots of development going on & refurbishments being made; the city sparkles
We enjoyed the restaurants & the food & all that we were able to see & do.
Thankyou for all your help: we will highly recommend you.
This is one of the best city apartments we have ever stayed in. It is spacious, clean, and has everything you might need. It is in a very nice neighborhood - green and not touristy, but in the center of the city at the same time. The owner was very responsive to all our questions and needs. Communications were excellent. We would love to stay there again. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
We loved being on the Buda side of town. Great local feel.
The apartment is in great location overall - everything needed is very convenient and accessible. Metro and buses and "river bus" are a three minute walk, the pedestrian and bike and running path on the Danube is one block away, with a stunning Parliament view. As well as Spar grocery, numerous high quality 'local' and tourist restaurants. Don't miss the Coyote café or the Non-stop (24hr) crepery. The Castle is just up the hill behind the apartment, with even more restaurants and a must-see view.
Owner and local property manager are very friendly and helpful.
The apartment is spacious, clean, comfortable and fully equipped.
I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our 10 days in Budapest. And apartment and location were perfect for us. A bit away from the hustle of Pest, yet seemingly just 5-10 minutes to anywhere.
We toured the Parliament, Castle, Synagogue, National Museum, Hospital in the Rock, went to Aquincum, Szentendre, up on the Children's Railroad to the Lookout, and did two Escape games, bathed at Kiraly and Lukacs baths, attended the Opera, ran to and around Margit island, and ate chocolate croissants every morning. We literally enjoyed every minute of every day.
Excellent experience! Mark is very friendly and helpful. The apartment is beautiful and ideally located--across the street from the beautiful Reformist Calvinist church (we looked at it out our window), a block from the Danube, easy walk up Castle hill directly behind the apartment, three blocks to Batthyanyi ter which has the metro stop, the HEV to Szestendre, and buses and trams to everywhere as well as grocery store, great cafes, etc, etc. Apartment is lovely, spacious and modern with all amenities and lots room for a family. Budapest is a strikingly beautiful city and Mark's apartment is an ideal place to see it from--highly recommended!
We were at the home of Mark the days after New Year , and I can say we had a great time. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you need . the location is perfect for experiencing the city center. recommend anyone to stay in this apartment.
