Overview

About the property

Your family friendly vacation starts here!

Facing a stretch of Siesta Key’s Grand Canal, this 3-bedroom home is within strolling distance of the island’s best beaches, dining, shopping, and entertainment. Vaulted ceilings, an open multilevel floor plan, and breezy beach décor contribute to the space’s fresh, serene feel.

Upon entry, immediately ascend to the main (second) floor. In the master bedroom, located on this main floor, you will find a king-sized bed with quality Egyptian cotton linens. A full bath with a new vanity is conveniently situated next to the master room.

Also on the main floor, the kitchen is equipped with modern cabinets, granite countertops with a sleek tile backsplash, and stainless steel appliances. Adjoining the kitchen is the dining area, which comfortably seats six and opens up to the great room. This spacious living area features sliding glass doors that open up to the balcony and 20-foot ceilings with new fans. The flatscreen TV has cable channels and it faces two comfortable couches. A Queen sized air mattress can be found in the master bedroom closet.

Stairs lead up to the top floor, where there are two more well-appointed rooms—one with a queen-sized bed and the other with two single beds. Between the rooms is the freshly painted full bathroom with new vanity.

This beach house is located along a quiet, meandering street dotted with palm trees, and is just two blocks from the white sands of Siesta Key’s Beach Access #7. With attractions within easy walking distance and the local airport an affordable cab drive away, car rental is not necessary, although convenient driveway parking is offered. A paved walk borders the driveway and leads to the home’s private entrance, as well as the entrance to the adjoining unit. Continue following the path to access the secluded, SHARED lounge area and pool (water heated from November to May).

Additional amenities include WiFi throughout the house and a washer and dryer.

The distinctive combination of gracious, open living space and private rooming makes this home ideal for families and groups of friends looking for a relaxing beach getaway.

For larger groups or family gatherings, a virtually identical, adjoining unit can also be reserved, as this property is a duplex. See HomeAway listing #3875875 for more information.

Please note that we recently purchased this property and did some renovations---this is fairly new to the VRBO and HA listings.

  • 3 of 5

Was a very cute place but found to be a little dirty... the only problem we all had was we had to supply all the essentials as in toilet paper , garbage bags .. when you pay that much things like that should be provided.... pool area was great!

The perfect place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends and I absolutely loved our stay! To start, communicating with Leah was an absolutely breeze and a joy - she was very easy to work with. The unit is in the perfect place - 2 blocks from the beach and about 2 blocks from The Village. The grocery store (although small) was right down the street - perfect for ice, last minute items, etc. It's located on a quiet street. Unit was very clean and beds were very comfortable. Loved that the bathrooms had plenty of counter space for toiletries for multiple guests. Having beach chairs, an umbrella, and a beach cart was awesome! We were lucky and had the pool to ourselves. This was a great rental! Thanks again Leah!

Nice property close to village and beach

  • 4 of 5

My family and I stayed here the week of March 4th. We had a wonderful time as expected since this was our 3rd trip to Siesta Key. On our previous visits we stayed much further from the village but closer to the public beach. We learned then that we liked eating at the numerous cafes and restaurants along Ocean blvd so this time we chose a property that gave us the best of both worlds. The only drawback being that there is no public restroom or Porto-potty at the end of beach access 7 so that shortened our time on the beach. If one doesn't mind peeing in the ocean this won't be an issue. The beach itself though is just as gorgeous and well maintained here as it is further to the south. Even better since there's fewer people. The property itself was nice, clean, and well maintained. Check in went well. We arrived very early since we drove down from Minnesota and made good time getting there. The cleaning lady was few minuets late getting out of there but no biggie, we just did our grocery shopping for the week and got settled in by 3:30. The pool is small but good enough to lounge on a floaty if that's all you want to do. The chairs around the pool could use some repair or replacement. They are getting a little brittle. The beach chairs and umbrellas also need to be replaced. The umbrella we had was jerry rigged with wire and ultimatly no match for the light breezes on the beach. Every thing in the beach bin just looked a little corroded from the salt air. It's subjective but I prefer a very soft bed. The bed in the master bedroom is very firm. If it weren't for my noisy, nocturnal kids I would have slept on the leather couch in the living room. These were very comfortable. There is also a very annoying light that must be on a sensor outside the bedroom window. It was going on and off all night long. It would have been nice if the lights by the pool came on earlier too. They didn't turn on till a few hours after sunset. These are just minor things though that I think can be easily fixed. All in all our stay was great and we'd come back again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us on your trip to Siesta! It’s a fantastic vacation destination, as you’ve discovered, since you have been here a number of times! The public beach about four blocks away does give you the convenience of bathrooms and a snack bar, but we love the slower pace of Beach Access #7. It’s a good thing that the house is not far for those quick trips back for the bathroom or to grab a forgotten snack or drink! But it is so nice being close to the Village and all that it has to offer. Vacations never seem to last long enough to try all of the restaurants that we would like to hit when we are in Siesta! The pool furniture was just purchased in June of 2016 so it’s discouraging that we have already lost a lounge chair. The torn chair has been removed. We try our hardest to keep things up to date in the beach bins and do guarantee chairs, but the umbrellas are an extra as they don’t last in the wind. The salt air is rough on the chairs as well, and we do try to get as much use out of them as we can. I have asked the Pool Crew to please adjust the lights as they are on a timer and we can easily have them turn on earlier. Thanks again for staying at A Shore Thing. A Florida vacation in March is a perfect break from a Minnesota winter!
