About the property

4 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, Sleeps 12

Sixteen sets of French doors welcome you into this impressive house and allow for natural light to flood the house with the ambience of the tropics. Upscale light and bright coastal décor with gleaming hardwood floors throughout living area and bedrooms. Central kitchen with dining bar perfect for entertaining in the completely open living and dining area. Ten-foot tongue-in-groove ceilings with exposed rafters, luxurious ipe floors, crown molding and built-in niches add to the charm of this inviting and warm exquisite house.

Wraparound upper and lower decks surround Sea Walk House enabling 360 degree views and encouraging outdoor entertaining. The upper floors offer a glimpse of the ocean, just 50 yards from the house. Expansive front deck leads to the private pool with waterfall feature and hot tub.

Sea Walk House offers four bedrooms, 3 full baths with showers and 1 full bath with a tub. Two bedrooms have king size beds, the third bedroom has a double bed and a single trundle bed, so it can sleep 3, and the fourth bedroom has a bunk bed and a single trundle bed, so it also can sleep 3. The living room has a queen pullout sofa. Sea Walk House can therefore sleep 10 in the bedrooms and 2 more in the living room for a maximum of 12. The dining room seats 6 at the dining room table and 6 more on bar stools at the dining bar.

French Leave Beach, a mile-long crescent of pink sands that has been ranked top 20 in the world, is just 50 yards from the house. Enjoy using our kayaks.

The town of Governors Harbour, two minutes away by car, has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock, or visit the recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, for the weekly coffee hour for foreign residents and tourists. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

Upscale beachfront restaurants in the area include Tippy’s famous beachfront restaurant/bar (international and fusion) just a short walk down the beach, The Beach House (tapas), the Bistro at Sky Beach Club (International cuisine with Bahamian influences), Cocodimama (traditional Italian cuisine), and The Rainbow Inn (famous for its steaks). The above all have live music one or more nights a week, so there is live entertainment somewhere nearby almost every night. The Governors Harbour area also has numerous little takeouts and restaurants offering local cuisine, including The Buccaneer (salads, burgers, wraps), Mate and Jenny’s (pizza and Bahamian) and the Sunset Inn (local cuisine).

Eleuthera is famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is completely safe any time of the day or night. Enjoy the rare experience of picking up hitch-hikers and leaving your keys in the car wherever you go. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks, bikes. You can have a charter captain take you out for excursions of various types. There is excellent sightseeing as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore. We hope you will enjoy Sea Walk House, and experience all our island has to offer.

Reviewer Comments:

Seawalk is a GREAT house in Eleuthera to stay at! We recently rented this beautiful beach home with another family and give it top praise. We were a total of 4 adults and 4 teens and there was plenty of room for all of us. The house is really spacious, modern, very comfortable, immaculately clean and well furnished with 4 large bedrooms, a well-stocked open kitchen and a terrific entertainment area. As well, the in ground pool was a real treat. Seawalk is perfectly located within a minute walk from the famous French Leave beach which is arguably the nicest stretch of beach on the island. It is a hop away from the grocery stores, banks, restaurants, gas stations and shops of Governor’s Harbour. The owners, Jackie & Skip, reside close by and are truly wonderful people. They are genuinely friendly kindred spirits and we feel blessed to have had the opportunity to meet them. They graciously received us when we first pulled into their driveway and it was as if we had found long lost friends! They are very warm people and they took the time to share with us a wealth of knowledge about the island which greatly inspired us in our activity planning. Their helper Tepa, a gentle soul, came over a few times every day to clean up the yard, tend to the pool and ask if we needed anything. The owners were always reachable to answer our questions and met our needs immediately. They have a wide variety of additional equipment for rent which was very convenient. We have stayed in many homes in Eleuthera over the years and Seawalk earns top marks in our books. We strongly recommend this rental home to anyone considering a visit to this lovely island. A Magical Week at SeaWalk

  • 5 of 5

This property was as advertised. Sea Walk is situated on Banks Road, a short drive into Governors Harbor (where you can enjoy a number of modern conveniences) and yet secluded enough that you felt somewhat alone in the world. A short walk down a path led you to one of the prettiest beaches in the world, where it was unusual to see more than one other family. The beach was the start and end of each day; quiet strolls with a drink in hand either with the kids, or while they stayed back and frolicked in the nice pool and hot tub. While on the beach, you could body surf or occasionally catch the local ray swimming by... quite a sight. The house was well appointed, with nice high ceilings for good air flow, a great entertainment center upstairs for movies or sports, and a dining area on the main floor that easily accommodated all 10 of us. The bedrooms worked well; we had 2 couples, and between us 3 boys and 3 girls. The boys had one room with ample sleeping, as did the girls, and the couples had nice master suites.

Tepa, the owner's representative, visited every morning to make sure we had everything we needed. We quickly became good friends with him, and all adored him. He made sure there was fresh water to drink, that the pool and hot tub were clean, and provide directions for our excursions. He even delivered the sea kayaks and paddleboards to a beach 10 miles away, and picked them up. He also did a wonderful bonfire for us on the beach our last night.

We hired a chef for 4 nights (Pauline Bethel). We figured it would be more affordable than going out (in the end, it absolutely was more affordable), but we did not count on how much we grew to love her and her sister and husband. They became like family. She shopped for the groceries, cooked, and cleaned up, and we also learned a ton about the island from her and Maxine and Edmond.

Governors Harbor is an ideal spot to explore the island. Lots of local flavor, and convenient to go north (to Harbor Island) or south (to Rock Sound and Tarpum Cay).

The owners of the house (Skip and Jackeline) were responsive and wonderful. The person through whom we communicated pre-arrival (Matthew Simon) and his crew gave great advice on rental cars, chefs, and what to do on the island.

We can unequivocally say that we would do this vacation over again in a heartbeat; it was nothing short of spectacular.

Perfect 4-Bedroom

  • 5 of 5

Sea Walk was perfect for our needs....two families needing four bedrooms. The house is roomy, clean and well appointed, with a deck, pool and grill. While not on the beach side of Banks road, it is an easy 50 yds from the beautiful French Leave beach, and it is only a 5 minute drive to town for groceries and a dining options including the famous Governor's Harbour Friday night fish fry, with Bacchus gourmet foods and cafe 500 yards to the north of the house, and Tippy's bar & grill a mile south. The property is managed by a wonderful team who also manage the Lush Life property across the street. All of our needs were met, and the manager and staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We were very sad to leave!

Great time!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Sea Walk. There was plenty of room for all 5 adults (1 infant). Great location and proximity to the beach. The staff was more than helpful with taking beach chairs/supplies to beach and carrying back to house. We were there during a cold front, so did not use the pool, but I would imagine on a very hot day the pool would be nice!
