Ten-foot tongue-in-groove ceilings with exposed rafters, luxurious ipe floors, crown molding and built-in niches add to the charm of this inviting and warm exquisite house.

Wraparound upper and lower decks surround Sea Walk House enabling 360 degree views and encouraging outdoor entertaining. The upper floors offer a glimpse of the ocean, just 50 yards from the house. Expansive front deck leads to the private pool with waterfall feature and hot tub.

Sea Walk House offers four bedrooms, 3 full baths with showers and 1 full bath with a tub. Two bedrooms have king size beds, the third bedroom has a double bed and a single trundle bed, so it can sleep 3, and the fourth bedroom has a bunk bed and a single trundle bed, so it also can sleep 3. French Leave Beach, a mile-long crescent of pink sands that has been ranked top 20 in the world, is just 50 yards from the house. Enjoy using our kayaks.

The town of Governors Harbour, two minutes away by car, has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock, or visit the recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, for the weekly coffee hour for foreign residents and tourists. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

Upscale beachfront restaurants in the area include Tippy’s famous beachfront restaurant/bar (international and fusion) just a short walk down the beach, The Beach House (tapas), the Bistro at Sky Beach Club (International cuisine with Bahamian influences), Cocodimama (traditional Italian cuisine), and The Rainbow Inn (famous for its steaks). The above all have live music one or more nights a week, so there is live entertainment somewhere nearby almost every night. The Governors Harbour area also has numerous little takeouts and restaurants offering local cuisine, including The Buccaneer (salads, burgers, wraps), Mate and Jenny’s (pizza and Bahamian) and the Sunset Inn (local cuisine).

Eleuthera is famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is completely safe any time of the day or night. Enjoy the rare experience of picking up hitch-hikers and leaving your keys in the car wherever you go. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks, bikes. You can have a charter captain take you out for excursions of various types. There is excellent sightseeing as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore. We hope you will enjoy Sea Walk House, and experience all our island has to offer.

Perfect 4-Bedroom

  • 5 of 5

Sea Walk was perfect for our needs....two families needing four bedrooms. The house is roomy, clean and well appointed, with a deck, pool and grill. While not on the beach side of Banks road, it is an easy 50 yds from the beautiful French Leave beach, and it is only a 5 minute drive to town for groceries and a dining options including the famous Governor's Harbour Friday night fish fry, with Bacchus gourmet foods and cafe 500 yards to the north of the house, and Tippy's bar & grill a mile south. The property is managed by a wonderful team who also manage the Lush Life property across the street. All of our needs were met, and the manager and staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We were very sad to leave!

Great house. Short walk across a slightly busy road to an absolutely spectacular beach. Kitchen is well appointed and the house is very comfortable for six. Nice pool for cooler days. Owners and team are terrific.

Great time!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Sea Walk. There was plenty of room for all 5 adults (1 infant). Great location and proximity to the beach. The staff was more than helpful with taking beach chairs/supplies to beach and carrying back to house. We were there during a cold front, so did not use the pool, but I would imagine on a very hot day the pool would be nice!

Spectacular new home with pool and beach !!!

  • 5 of 5

We have come to Eleuthera many, many times. We have stayed in several very nice homes. This was our first stay at Sea Walk. It was absolutely beautiful and the location is fantastic. The openness of the living area is a perfect fit for my family and for the chefs among us. We worked in the lovely, clean and well-equipped kitchen and were able to join in the fun in the living area at the same time. But when the kids wanted to play games or listen to music, they had the option of going to the upstairs family room. The house was filled with new and clean linens and bedding and the house was spotless and new. The pool and hot tub are so wonderful and after a day at the beach they are perfect. The house is across the street from the beach and takes no time to get there- a short walk. Our children were either at the beach or in the pool all day long! And they slept well at night! The owners of this home have planned it to be wonderfully functional for a group, family or just a twosome. The landscaping is lovely and the hand built shell wall around the pool area - quite unique and charming. Another plus for this property is it's proximity to the restaurants and shopping in Governor's Harbor. A short drive gets you to groceries, coffee in the morning and to the spectacular Harbor. In addition, the owners are terrific. The connected us with paddle boards, boats and snorkeling gear. We will be back!!!

Not yet ready for rentals

  • 2 of 5

This was a disappointing vacation rental. We have rented many houses. We also own a beachfront house in the US & know what goes into running it.

The interior is as cheery & beautiful as the pictures show, but the experience overall was not what we expected. The house was listed as “beach view, beachfront, ocean view.” The view was a tiny sliver visible only from 1 room. It backs to a brown pond. This isn’t clear from the satellite pic.

We almost didn’t stop at the house. Someone was surely living there. There was a truck in the driveway, a swim suit laid out to dry, toys, balls, boat, jetski & dirtbike in the yard.

We found out that the owner lives here, but was away & returned at the end of our stay. We were surprised to see meds & half eaten jars of food in the frige.

The house was overrun /w ants! We had them spray on the first day, but they came back. They were in the kitchen, the living room, the walls, the bedrooms & the bathrooms. We would wake up /w ants crawling on our face! We saw beetles in the beds, flying bugs, wasps, 2” cockroaches & a gecko. I was pretty certain that something was biting me under the covers while I slept.

There are no curtains on the bathroom windows. Given that the owner drove his truck in the back yard to load stuff & that the property manager was frequently walking around the property in the mornings, we needed curtains. The washing machine is outside on the deck, connected via extension cord & dumping waste water via hose to the back yard. It was new, but I wonder how long it will last outside in the elements. There is no dryer – you have to hang your clothes on the line and hope it doesn’t rain.

There was no microwave. The toaster was not working for us. The TV satellite was not connecting so we were limited to NetFlix. The owner did get it reset at the end of our stay. The problem was that the owner was off of the island for most of our stay. A couple of electrical outlets don’t have switch plate covers on them. We had to ask for toilet paper on the first day. There is AC only in the main room downstairs & the two bedrooms upstairs. That leaves the TV room upstairs & the two bedrooms downstairs very hot.

The house’s location on the island is perfect. The decor is nice. The layout is great. However, it’s not ready for rentals. Managing the bugs, cleaning up the yard, making sure everything inside is working & vacation-like, & adding better location pics would be huge steps in that direction.

Owner's Response: This guest had requested to reserve the house, then dropped out of contact. Two or three days before her check in date, she emailed to say she was coming after all. The owner was not on the island at this point and he obviously did not properly prepare the house for this rental. I have rented this house many times (I’m the agent for this and many other houses on the island), and it was properly prepared by the owner for those other rentals. This was not a typical situation. To correct a few inaccuracies in the above review: The written description in the ad clearly states that the house offers a glimpse of the ocean only. The pond behind the house is impossible to miss if one looks at the satellite map embedded in the ad. This pond has fish and birds, does not breed bugs, and is a good neighbor. I rent four other houses within 100 yards of this one, including two others that back onto the pond, and no one else complains about the pond. Currently, the house has mini-split AC units in both upstairs bedroom and one of the two downstairs bedrooms. A additional mini split unit has been ordered for the big upstairs TV room. The downstairs living, dining, and kitchen areas and one downstairs bedroom have mini-split units. The will leave only the children’s bedroom downstairs without its own AC unit. The microwave has been replaced. For laundry, the house has a washing machine and a clothes line for drying.
