Kiva Dunes is one of the premier golf courses in the nation routinely being named a top 75 public course to play. Add that to a stunning private community beach front and luxurious resort amenities and we simply could not resist purchasing the 19th Hole.
This home sits across the street from the largest of the 3 resort pools, The Osprey Pool. Also across the street is the lighted tennis court so don't forget your ratchets.
Beach access is an easy 8 minute walk, a flat 3 minute bicycle ride, a short drive (park at the Blue Heron pool and walk across the street to the dune walk over), or complementary shuttle away. (Shuttle runs in the summer tourist season, ask for details.)
This is a large three story home with 3,500 SF of living space which allows even large groups to spread out and find their own space.
Overall impression: great.
Dryer didn't work.
Photos showed 10 bar stool and 10 chairs at table. Only 4 stools and 9 chairs. We had to scramble to find adequate seating for dinner. Bars stools were also all very shaky.
Lots of pot/pans/dishes in kitchen. Need more seating in family room area. House actually sleeps 16, with only a couch and love seat in family room.
Family did enjoy being under the same roof. We are contemplating same location next year.
Though I may sound negative about something's, overall it was a great experience.
A note from the Manager:
Thank you for letting us know about the need for more seating. During our annual inspection we found some stools and a chair that were broken and we removed them so no one would be injured. I will let the owner know about the need for additional living room seating. Thanks for staying and letting us know about these items. I am glad that you had a great stay in 19th Hole!!
We stayed here from Friday until Monday. The house was very clean and very spacious. We had a large group (4 families) and we had plenty enough room for everyone and lots of space should you need air mattresses. The first floor had a room with a sofa bed and a private room with a king bed, a set of bunk beds and a bathroom. The second floor had a living room a huge kitchen, a half bath, living room (leads to a balcony) , dining room (leads to another balcony) and huge master bedroom and bathroom with a king bed (also leads to the same balcony as the livingroom. The 3rd floor had a master room with a queen bed and bathroom, another queen bedroom (without bathroom) that also leads to the balcony, a bathroom, and another queen bed in a nice open area. The location of the home was fantastic. It was in a cul de sac and the other homes were a nice distance so we didn't have to worry about the kids making noise. It was right across the street from one of the pools and the tennis court. It was super safe and we never seen a car drive by at all. We brought bikes and the kids were able to play and ride bikes outside safely. They had a fantastic shuttle employee named Andy. He became part of our vacation taking photos and bringing us back and forth to the beach and always seemed like he was enjoying it and that we were no bother. The beach was beautiful and private so we always had our own space and the others were far away. There is a total of 4 swimming pools. Two are heated that I know of. One for sure isn't and we didn't go to the 4th so i'm not sure if its heated. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, crock pot, coffee pot and even a keurig coffee pot. We had everything we needed for a great vacation all in one spot and we did not leave until the vacation was over and we were headed for home. The only confusion I had was I thought in the description it said 2 sofa beds but there is only one. However, there is a large queen inflatable sleeper should you need it. I would definitely stay here again and all the families with us had the same experience as me and was super happy with the home and resort.
My family recently stayed at 19th hole. It was a short trip (my wife and I were only able to stay for one night while the rest were there for 3) but we had a great time. The house was beautiful and well furnished with lots of space for all 13 of us.
Across the street was a community pool that it was, sadly, too cold to swim in during our January stay. Just a short walk away was a George out boardwalk beach entrance where we were able to walk along the amazing Alabama gulf coast.
All in all it was a great 2 day getaway and the 19th hole was a wonderful place for our big family to get together for some quality time.
Our family stayed at 19th Hole this weekend and loved it!! Our expectations were exceeded as soon as we drove up. We didn't realize that the gorgeous Osprey pool and tennis courts would be just across the street. We took walks to the beach with our 4 kids each day. It's extremely convenient and walking through the beautiful Kiva Dunes neighborhood was a pleasure.
The master bedroom was large and light-filled from all of the beautiful windows, and we loved the balcony access from the room. The master bath is huge, and the whirpool tub was extremely impressive and clean!
The living room couches were comfortable, sleek, and clean. All of the furniture throughout the home is up to date and attractive.
The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, and the table was perfect for meals, puzzles, and card games! And the bar was perfect for putting out meals for everyone to serve themselves.
The upstairs carpet was plush and clean. The bedding is attractive and modern. The views from the 3rd floor balconies are picturesque, and the fact that there are six exterior spaces for lounging (the patios and balconies) made the house seem even more spacious.
Our girls loved the bunk beds, and our 3 year old cried when it was time to leave because she thought it was our new home! We couldn't have been more pleased with the 19th Hole!!
The house was great! The location was great!
The only problem was, I was led to believe the beach access was just across the street from the house and that is not true. If you are going with chairs and coolers and tents and bags it is a rather long walk plus you have to climb a couple of flights of steps to get to the beach. The pool was right across the street as well as the tennis courts, which that was nice. Our only complaint was the beach access. The house was lovely and easily slept 16 people.
Great house with few details needing attention. Clean, lots of room, safe area to walk, some good views. Everything we used worked. Third year we have stayed here and plan to return.
We really enjoyed our stay. We had more than enough room. Everything was clean except the carpet. Other than that, it was very nice!!!
